Will DC 22, troglodyte: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Will DC 22, other creature: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Varian covers two of the creatures in glitter; the small amount of light in these underground passages causes faint but sharp sparkles that make them easy to see. From the way both immediately start twitching their heads, it appears that both have been blinded!
Yabatha grants Homlicore a small bit of aid for when he needs it.

Beorin seizes the chance to advance boldly in front of the large creature and slams a hammer down on it. Looking to take it down before they recover from their blindness.
Attack 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 1 - 2 = 231d8 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 3 - 2 = 9
Homlicore |
Homlicore is worried about his companion.
"Come on Cat, you can do it!"
Everyone is trying to do his best, and with the advantage of the last spells, they have a chance. He shoots against the bigger foe wishing to defeat him quickly.

Homlicore, are you including the penalty from being sickened? Did you use the guidance? Please include the individual bonuses (beyond your base +10/+10/+5) with your posts so that I can check the math. Naming them is enough, if you don't want to break out a bunch of +/- modifiers in the [dice= statement. I don't know your PC like you do, and I'm having a hard time coming up with your numbers after reviewing your sheet. A couple of your rolls are right on the edge of hitting or not. Thanks!
The Pathfinders take advantage of the induced blindness from Varian's spell, and advance into melee proper, wounding the larger creature even more.
The troglodytes and their charge return the assault, however hampered they may be. The blinded pair both swing wildly at Beorin; the big creature's bite is the only attack that lands on the dwarf, but it's a dangerous attack; the acidic saliva starts attacking Beorin's internals immediately. Fortitude save please!
The other troglodyte lands a slight club blow on the leopard.

With a huge effort Cat attacks again, and arrows fly against their foes from Homlicore`s bow.
GM Zin |
Varian, I've asked you multiple times now; please place your token on the battlefield. From this point forward, if your token isn't on the battlefield, you don't have line of effect and can't take any actions.
Varian waits patiently for his companions to do the hard work.
Homlicore's leopard draws more blood from the only opponent that can still see.
Beorin's natural fortitude protects him from the worst of the big guys bite, but the physical damage remains.
Yabatha expertly smacks one of the troglodytes upside the head.
Homlicore sends a flurry of arrows into the large creature, sending it to the ground with a hard crash.

The blind troglodyte gets a lucky strike on Yabatha, and the sighted one, clearly distressed at the defeat of the large foe, missed Homlicore's leopard entirely, its head pivoting as it looks for an escape route.

Combat over!
With the serpentfolk and their servants defeated, you can attempt to interview the slaves about the less glamorous aspects of serpentfolk society. This requires a successful Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, or Sense Motive check. If they prefer, you can instead prioritize assisting the slaves with medical care, escaping, or the like by succeeding at a Diplomacy, Disable Device, or Heal check.
The slaves can understand Draconic, Thassilonian, and Undercommon, but even a group that can’t speak any of those languages can communicate basic ideas through pantomime and Common words with Azlanti origins—though this increases the DC.
This is a group skill check; you need to decide on the skill that you want to use, and select one PC to attempt the check. The other PCs may, of course, use aid another to provide a bonus.
There is also a research task that can be attempted in this area, but this area is controlled, so it won't contribute to the overall objectives. If you want a challenge separate from combat though, we can attempt that, or move on to the next area.

GM Zin |
No problems with the channel ret-con; you can navigate your own healing the best way for you in these between scenes.
After learning what you can from the slaves, you quickly keep climbing inside the transported cube of earth until you reach the surface. You emerge into a city plaza dominated by a large temple. Various libraries, restaurants, and warming parlors line the plaza, where merchants sold clothing, servants, and magic during daylight hours. With their sudden, clearly magical teleportation through time, however, most of the district’s serpentfolk civilians have either taken refuge inside or--as you can tell from the bustle of activity as plentiful groups of Pathfinders wander through and around the area--failed in their defense of the plaza.
You approach the large temple dominating the landscape at the top of this cube, and you walk through the entrance. Glowing coals warm this shrine and cast an eerie under-lighting on the towering, snake-headed statue behind the altar. The reek of ammonia and rotting flesh fills the air and burns the eyes.
A reptilian creature stands near the altar, along with a large snake.
