Duvik reaches the rebel on the bridge and lurches forwards to strike the man, but the man slips the strike. As the goblin's arm moves forward, it is caught in the man's hands, who using the goblin's momentum swings him round and throws him towards the water. The dwarf falls and squirms in the air trying to catch the wall, but falls crashing onto his back into the water, sustaining some damage.

Readied action - Athletics Push (Crit success) - You may try to Grab an Edge as a reaction, I assume you were holding your shield?

Birgid fares no better, as her attention is taken by the dwarf's shout of surprise, she lets the rebel catch her unawares. Her body is bumped and her feet are standing on air, it will surely be only a minute before she too will hit the canal below. Hitting the water hard, Birgid sustains damage as her head smashes into the hard floor of the canal.

Readied action - Athletics Push (Crit success) - You may try to Grab an Edge as a reaction.

How tall are Birgid and Duvik? I guess the 2 crits aren't so bad, as of the 9 strikes only 1 hit.

As Birgid falls, Erryn reaches out to try and save her, but only manages to touch her weapon, powering it with the spell she held in her hand.

Meanwhile Manny inspires the Pathfinders to strike true and harder +1 Strike, +1 Damage, +1 Fear saves

Liger sends a ray towards the robed man, who winces in pain.
Zug similarly sends a flash of pain to one of the brigands, but the man just shakes his head and recovers his composure.

The robed man grows, "Get that user of magic" he says pointing at Liger. He himself returns the favour, sending a ray at the Leshy, but it flies high above the little Pathfinder.

The swift current takes Duvik and Brigid along the canal away from the bridge.

You are trained in athletics so can swim in a flowing river, and your character shows +7 for athletics skill, so DC=15 would mean you pass, critical pass and fail. So you swim 10ft, then 15ft to the steps, (steps also very difficult terrain (wet steps and up = 15ft) so make it to the top of the steps.

He sees the goblins smile turn into a dripping set of sharp and deadly fangs. He screams and dives into the canal to escape. The rebel attempts to swim away, but in his turmoil, he sinks under the water and is taken by the current. He struggles to keep his head above water, his arms and legs flail away, as his body turns around and around in the waters.

Nalla is suddenly plunged into darkness as the light in that area is extinguished.

The robed man curses the cleric, "That woman, she believes, take her out." He himself speaks some words and sends 3 bolts of grey force towards the woman, Erryn takes 13 point damage from magic missile. In response to their leader, two shortbows turn towards her, luckily one misses as the warrior priest reacts quickly, but the other finds it's mark Erryn takes 4HPs damage and the woman falls to the ground. Blood spilling out from the arrow impaled on her chest.

The 2 archers Green & Silver drop their shortbows and draw out the shortswords from their leather scabbards.

The third archer Red fires another arrow at Liger, hoping to take the magic user out, but fortunately his wounds had been tended leaving Liger still standing Liger takes 4HPs damage. He drops the shortbow and reaches down to his side, pulling up an unlit torch.

The rebel yellow fighting Manny, easily steps aside from the magical energy thrown at him by Liger and continues to slash away at Manny with his shortsword. However Manny, more experienced at fighting, easily manages to avoid most of the blows, until the rebel gets lucky and almost punctures Manny's liver, but the reach of the blade is just short. Birgid you need 2 strides to get close enough to hit the rebel, so placed accordingly. So I stopped your movement close enough to the rebel to hit, but getting you as close to the robed figure as possible, as that seemed in keeping with your intentions.

Birgid's steps forward, her weapon deadly in her hands as with a single sweep of her weapon, she cuts the rebel holding the unlit torch in two. His legs stand still for a moment as his torso topples backward into the canal, leaving a red trail of blood mixing with the water. The legs then slowly fall forwards from the barrels.

Liger's casts a spell, a crystal clear diamond appears before him, hovering and moving, seeking to protect him from damage from the rebels weapons. Another scroll appears in his hands.

Meanwhile, Manny's whip suddenly takes on a greenish hue, as his magic infuses the weapon with occult power. He snaps it at the rebel in front, but the man laughs and jumps over the whip as it cracks on the floor.

The rebel is not so lucky, as he lands only to find a goblin holding a scythe that takes the rebels head from his shoulders, dropping the man quickly. The goblin then brings his shield up as he turns to face the next rebel.

Erryn, lies in a pool of blood that does not seem to be spreading any further.

Zug, shocked by seeing Erryn fall, calls upon his magic, but in his aggitated state he cannot control the arrow with his magic and it flies harmlessly into the canal.

With the cleric down and about to be tended to by the magic user that was his target before, the robed man points at Liger with his finger that turns white and icy as a ray hits the Leshy. The cold moves down and through Liger, freezing his limbs making movement difficult. Liger takes 10 HPs damage from a crit ray of frost, (if I read it correctly the gem does not stop magic, as it stops strikes). Also 10ft penalty to speed.

With a glint of Birgid's armour catching from the dim torch light, the rebel closest to her, uses all his strength to push her in the back towards the waterwheel. She desperately tries to turn and raise her shield to stop the force, but without the shield able to protect her, her feet shuffle backwards onto ground made slippery by the waterwheel splashing.

Manny's whip lashes the stomach of the guard, causing him great pain and anguish. He crouches over holding his stomach just as an arrow whizzes through the space where his head had just been. Duvik's arrow continues on crashing and splintering against the wall.

The robed man looks down at Zug, entranced by his performance, but the lullaby the goblin sings, doesn't seem to have the required effect. As he looks down and laughs at Zug, "Your puny magics are worthless."

The rebel warrior guarding the bridge is not so fortunate, and collapses to the floor. A sweet smile on his face and look of euphoria as he dreams of his true love and what might have been.

If it's any consolation, my Champion gets into the same sort of trouble, being the first to walk into problems/challenges. In his first scenario, he was put down by the first strike in combat.

In this case, you are pushed into a slippery square, which then drops you onto the waterwheel. If you succeed at the first acrobatics check you have 3 actions as normal. If you succeed at the second, it makes dramatic sense to drop into the water and have 3 swim actions, but no damage.

As she tries to get her head above water, she struggles for breath, her head bobbing up and down, falling under the water, until somehow she finds some control and manages to hold her head above water and swim with the current.

However with the pain in his stomach, he is not moving freely and instead jumps into the wall of the opposite bank. He lets out a loud sigh of air being expelled from his lungs, as he takes his final breath, before his head is submerged under the water.

His will is too strong for the weak magic of Erryn's touch and as Zug's lights attack his eyes, he sees through the magic lights, almost as though he was unaffected. Almost a crit success on the daze. Duvik is not so lucky with the second that smacks into one of the dead bodies of rebels, that float by on the current.

You see the man continue on his way and out of sight around a corner, running away never looking back. As he was frightened still, he's not waiting around.

As Erryn says the dice have spoken, and he gets away. If you followed further there are several tunnels with and without canals that are around the corner. The turns will mean ranged spells/strikes would not be an option. The sounds of gnome machinery get louder and drown out any sounds of footsteps or breathing.

Liger, dithers as she decides whether to chase or stay, is intrigued by the barrels next to him. He sniffs at the barrel and sees that there is a brown liquid seeping extremely slowly from one of the barrels. She wipes her finger on the oily liquid and stands up straight taking a step back. The barrels are filled with oil, which had they been set alight, would probably caused some dangerous fires, especially to those standing next to them.

You return from your chase, to find Manny helping Birgid from the canal.

Birgid eventually swims, spluttering and splashing in the water, before she climbs out of the canal clutching one end of Manny's whip tied around her wrist and removing a small fish from the neck of her armour. She stands, drips and creates a huge puddle under her feet. She waits several minutes to let the puddle drain away, after her previous experience with trying to stand and move in a puddle.

Manny is next to the sleeping beauty, that appears to be waking, his arms start to stretch as his body squirms on the paved stone flooring.

What do you do Manny?

Everyone can give me a perception check for searching around the area.

Hero Point to Birgid for learning to swim.
