    MugVug pays attention to how the dragon reacts to the different things people are saying. He rubs his chin and has an idea. He goes over to Nina and beckons her to lean down. He whispers to her so the dragon can't hear.

    Whenever I feel down in the dumps, you know what I do to cheer myself up? I look at Society almanacs. When I realize all of the amazing accomplishments the Pathfinder Society has, and the influence it has in the world. Well...I feel super proud to be allowed to be a part of it. Maybe if you regaled Mister Dragon over there with some of the things the Society stands for he might be inspired to cheer up. Or maybe he might even want to help us. He could be the patron dragon of the new chapter house here. Imagine that?? A patron dragon!!

    Grum:
    You notice the dragon’s minor injuries along its flank - injuries that it is vainly trying to hide. Basic medical skills would patch them with no trouble. Aojimitsu could easily be healed. DC 22 Medicine (explaining that Aojimitsu’s injuries are minor and that you all can treat them).

    Kamil’s impressive display of pomp for the dragon does not go unnoticed.

    Jeeves, Grum, and MugVug remain silent, taking in the scene and scouring the brains for information to bring to bear. Nina attempts to remove her foot from her mouth by fawning over the sea dragon.

    Jeeves:
    You recall that vanity is a major personality flaw of almost all dragons. Appeals that praise Aojimitsu’s abilities reduce the check’s DC by 2. Also, you've achieved a critical success, so I'll give you a bonus bit of information that could be handy. Aojimitsu’s confidence is likely already at an all‑time low. Appeals that rely on further degrading him (i.e. Intimidation) increase the check’s DC by 2.

    Grum:
    You discern that Aojimitsu’s lack of confidence is due largely to his uncertainty in claiming a domain of his own for the first time. Appeals based on providing a support system of allies and friends, such as referring to the Pathfinder Society teaming up with Aojimitsu, reduce the check’s DC by 2.

    MugVug:
    You think that - in order to convince Aojimitsu to ally with you - the dragon would like to see what talents you all have. DC 24 Craft/Performance (demonstrating a talent and explaining how that would make the PC a worthy ally; various skills can apply.)

    MugVug lets out a loud exclamation...and then quickly gives the dragon a sheepish look.

    Master Jeeves! You know what you should do? You should compose one of your poems for Mister Dragon here. Surely a minstrel of your skill is interesting to a dragon? Your poems always make me feel inspired, I bet you could cheer him up too!

    ROUND 3: I know it's not Jeeves' turn yet, but I'll be out most of the day, so I'm posting now to avoid any delays later.

    Hearing the goblin's advice, Jeeves nods. Before he begins, he quietly suggests to the group, "I believe praising him gently would help lift his spirits. We should avoid being too harsh."

    With MugVug's encouragement, Jeeves begins strumming his lyre as he sings an inspirational tune.

    "Aojimitsu, Sea Dragon of yore.
    Thy wisdom is touted in lore.
    .....Your strength and your powers.
    .....The honor is ours.
    Such greatness -- no one can ignore!"

    After the verse of praise, the bard adds an additional verse extolling the virtues of the Pathfinder Society.

    A welcome to you, our new friend.

    .....The teamwork's rewarding.

    Jeeves gives a strange look to Kamil and Grum. "Masters, as I mentioned before, we should not be too harsh with him." He pauses for a moment and tries to explain. "Intimidation is not likely to be effective. Try praising him or try explaining the benefits of being allies with the Society."

    MugVug steps forward and looks up at the dragon,

    Oh great and powerful mister dragon. As a humble little goblin, I beseech thee to be my...friend? As someone as small as I am, I would be everylastingly grateful to have such a wondrous friend as yourself. We're not so different after all. You have a grand and glorious tail, and I have a tail too. See?

    MugVug turns away from the dragon and bows at the waist, pulling his pants down a small amount to show off his tail. MugVug pulls his pants back up with a little jig maneuver and grins lopsidedly up at the dragon.

    See mister dragon? It might be small, and spindly, but you and me are kind of alike. I would be greatly honored if you would be my friend.

    When Nina asked earlier if she could try a heal spell, I believe you said it was worth a try.

    Remembering that Grum said the dragon was injured, Jeeves cautiously approaches within 30'. "If I may, great Aojimitsu, it appears you need healing." He prepares and says,

    "Injured dragon of the sea.
    From your pain, you'll now be free."

    Soothe (3rd level): 3d10 + 12 ⇒ (4, 9, 9) + 12 = 34

    If it doesn't seem to help with Influencing, since it's only 2 actions, could I also try a 10min Treat Wounds, within this 15min period?

    The sea dragon scoffs at Kamil's song and audibly growls at Grum's threat before Jeeves soothes the creature with healing words.

    At Nina's beseeching, Aojimitsu straightens his neck, focusing on the sorcerer.

    "No, I would not."

    A tense moment passes as Aojimitsu unfurls, revealing the full length of his body before he continues.

    "But I would thank you all for cheering me up - even you, half-orc, who taunted me with your silly threats. I see now that I can be successful on this island - perhaps with the assistance of your 'Pathfinder Society'." Aojimitsu pronounces the name carefully. "The time for sulking is past."

    A glimmering energy limns the form of Aojimitsu and the dragon morphs immediately into a blue-green locathah.

    Aojimitsu considers the party. "I feel encouraged to making things work for me on this island. To that end, I'll give you and your society assistance once I am back to my full strength. For now, take this as a token of my wishes to work alongside you." Aojimitsu picks up a small gold statue of a lion with inlaid jade from a hollow in the sand where he was stretched out in dragon form. He pads over to Grum, smirks, and hands over the treasure. "Recovered from a shipwreck. Much like your diplomacy attempts." Aojimitsu lets out a brash and gurgling laugh.

    Jeeves considers Nina's suggestion. "I agree." He pauses and gently adds, "But before we put the fulgurite in the sand, should we approach the dais and examine the area for a possible slot or location to place the artifact?"

    As the group walks cautiously onto the rocky outgrowth jutting into the sea, the Wrathful Tide gate can be seen, a simple dais with perfect concentric circles and wave motifs carved into the dark stone.

    I'll make an assumption.

    Nina holds the fulgurite out from her as she approaches; the naturally-hewn piece of stone glows and sparks as she moves it closer to the gate. When she places it on on the dais, the wave motifs pulse with blue energy. A giant wave crashes against the peninsula, sunlight refracting into rainbows through the spray as the energy courses through the dais and swirls its way into the underlying rock.

    A spray of blue energy splashes onto MugVug, coalescing into an amorphous blob, then shooting alongside the goblin's waist to the waterskin hanging off of his belt. The soft leather gains a faint blue colour, and when MugVug holds it up to look at it, he can hear the sounds of ocean waves crashing into the surf. The goblin immediately looks at the suddenly-calm waters, then back at his waterksin, then back at the waters in bewilderment.

    MugVug, your waterskin now has a magical enchantment (no effect) and increases in value to 15gp.

    "Well done!" Aojimitsu the locathah calls out, clapping his webbed hands together a few times. "Now, I must see to my new realm. Farewell for now," and with that, the transformed sea dragon dives abruptly into the churning waters, swimming away from the shore.

    You all may now return to Kukuha's camp and report your success! You will return to camp about mid-day and decide if you want to use the afternoon for the last gate, or wait for the next full day.

    Would anyone benefit from rest? I think Jeeves used a 3rd level spell slot, not sure anyone else even used a consumable resource.

    Kamil agrees with Jeeve's suggestion and follows the team to the Gate.

    Like MugVug he's quite surprised by the goblin's waterskin transformation!

    He waves at the dragon after another flourished bow and says when his comrades suggest to go back to the camp.

    I feel pretty good for now. I haven't used any of my power yet.
