I am on my phone - I will get my info entered tomorrow when I'm on the laptop. Things get weird on the phone.

I rebuilt Elariel. She was originally a cleric of Nethys and I changed her to a wizard instead. Is there anything official I need to do to make that change?

I will get something posted in gameplay tomorrow as well. I am sorry I didn't get anything up there earlier. For some reason this didn't show up as having new replies.

I just want to make sure this is allowed by the spell. My intent is that she casts prestidigitation to "clean" herself after the vomiting (though she was already quite clean because she casts it regularly, so nothing appears to change). I'd also like to say the blue streak in her hair is from prestidigitation. This is only just for flavor - I don't plan to use it to impact anything mechanically. Does that work?

Sorry, I haven't been checking the Gameplay thread regularly so far, and just saw this.

In general, I'm very laissez-faire on anything that doesn't impact the game mechanically. One sentence rant - I find it unbelievable that characters would not be using their powers (magical or mundane) to live their non-adventuring lives and heartily applaud players thinking as their characters would. [One of my characters used his bard dedication to get dancing lights and message, so that he can amuse and chat with his friends at raves.]

Specifically to your question, however, I don't see anything in the spell description for Prestidigitation that suggests you can actually change the color of something. You could create a blue powder to make hair appear blue, but the spell would need to be Sustained. I'm okay bending the usual rules about Sustaining spells for extended periods of time (usually you are fatigued after 10 min), with the assumption that you're making your hair blue only when you're not concentrating on something else; your hair would revert to its natural color during combat or at night.

This makes sense to me. I had interpreted the section about coloring something under "tidy" as a permanent change, but it makes sense that it is something that had to be sustained. In that case, the color is probably changing frequently because she will forget to sustain as she gets distracted and then start it up again once she remembers. But mostly it will probably be her natural color as it's not important enough to her to sustain it more extended periods of time. I am thinking I may use it to puntuate her mood/emotional state.

Sorry I forgot about the slides. Her perception and initiative are on there now. I can't figure out how to add an icon - I will try tomorrow from my computer.

I am still learning PbP. GM Watery Soup, can you clarify for me how the society checks work? Do we roll for ourselves and determine on our own if we succeed so that we can read the spoilers or did you make secret rolls already and we all succeeded? I am not sure if I should be reading those spoilers or not.

(he/him) | Troubles in Otari | 2-17 | | Icons: ◆◇↺

No problem at all. Please feel welcome to ask questions.

There are two types of checks:

1. Open (essentially meaning that it's fine if you know what you rolled). Typically, these are results that are only Success/Failure - to speed things along in PbP, I'll spoiler the results, and allow players to roll themselves. If they succeed, they can open the spoiler.

2. Secret (meaning that you shouldn't know what you rolled). These are rolls where Failure and Success can't be differentiated, or Critical Failure and Success can't be differentiated. Some examples would be Hide (secret Stealth check, because you don't know if the enemy has seen you or not), and Recall Knowledge (because you don't know if you've remembered correctly or misremembered).

If you look on aonprd, you can see which actions have the Secret tag.

3. GMs with glyphs get to hand out extra Hero Points. Does anyone have one to hand out?

Let me post my boons:

I typed up Elariel's response and then remembered that Reev had posted in discussion. Her society modifier is +7. That would make more sense for her than Intimidation.

She wasn't trying to intimidate before, it's more that she just doesn't really care that much and is frustrated that they aren't able to do their job - which involves seeking knowledge...and possibly finding magic.

Here is what I had typed up to post in gameplay and what she would say if we decide to go that route. She would not so much be trying to convince Nalla to give them what they want - she is simply speaking the truth as she sees it.

Nalla wrote:
"Unfortunately," says Nalla, "We can't just let you go and trust you won't say anything. Foreigners don't understand the punishment for oathbreaking."

"You speak of the River Freedoms. You have reason to want to defend them. You have reason not to trust us too, I suppose, though we don't even know what this "mission" of yours is, so I don't see how we could blab about it. Regardless, I do understand the commitment of issuing an oath. It must be kept - at whatever cost. If it kills us, so be it. It would be better to give your life for the preservation of your word than to break that oath. That is the cost of freedom after all, is it not?"

"However, the permission to travel is another valued freedom and it seems you are not following that one quite so closely by detaining us."

As a player, I am also okay with having Maldlethu and Xun take the lead. In that's case, I would just imagine it as them speaking up before Elariel gathers her thoughts.

It's supposed to be. When you met Chops, if you had critically failed, failed, or critically succeeded, you would have ended up with a note (either from killing the rebels or having them let you go) rather than going to meet Nalla immediately. You would have done this part (finding the historical records, which is a Treasure Bundle) first, then found out about the plot, then met Nalla, and finally ended with the king.

Only if you exactly succeed do you meet Nalla first and end up doing things the order that you did them.

Chronicles are here.

Please look them over carefully, especially your PFS number - unlike self-reported games, I don't get to check your PFS numbers against the autofilled data that pops up. Let me know if anything needs changing and I'll do it ASAP.

As for reporting, there may be a small delay (a few days to a week) in reporting. Honestly, I have two level 1 characters, but both are playing in games notorious for killing level 1 characters. I didn't anticipate this game ending so quickly - I still don't know if my characters are going to survive. I've also reached out to Tyranius to see how disruptive it would be for me to put down a placeholder and request a change later, if necessary. If this is a critical problem for anyone, let me know and I'll make the best decision I can at the time.

I mentioned this in Gameplay, but if you're interested in chasing down Kerinha, the story continues in #1-11.

There's another Season 1 scenario set in the River Kingdoms, #1-18 (Lodge of the Living God), that is unrelated to this one but does feature Razmiran, in case that region intrigued you.

In all seriousness, this was a great game. Thank you for running it and thanks to everyone else for a fun time!

My chronicle sheet looks good as far as I know. I am unclear about how treasure bundles work. It sounds like we got a whole lot of them, but I have not sure how that translates in game terms. There are only a few items on my character sheet. How do those treasure bundles come into play? I tried searching for it but with the PFS2 guide being recently moved and Google search links were dead ends.

Perhaps. I'm playing it right now, and it's pretty fun. I don't usually like running things unless I've played them, so it'd have to wait until I'm done playing it.

I am thinking about starting a game, but it's probably a Level 3-6 scenario (or, specifically, two 3-6 scenarios linked thematically - either 1-16/1-17 or 1-09/1-23).

Treasure Bundles translate into gold for your character. At first level, each TB is 1.4 gp (so 14.0 gp if you get all 10 TBs, 12.6 gp if you get 9 TBs, etc.). At second level, it's 2.2 gp/TB, and so on.

You don't get to keep any of the items that you find in an adventure - instead, you get access to them, and you can use your gold to re-buy anything you want. This is just to keep everything even.

You also get Achievement Points (which aren't listed on your sheet). It's usually 4 AcP/scenario, but it may be 5 or 6 as a convention bonus. You can use AcP to buy boons, such as resurrecting your character if you die, or getting access to Uncommon ancestries such as orc.
