Discussion Thread - Is a table tier of 4.6667 with six players, high or low tier?
Sauros
|
Rounds up to 5, which is High Subtier ^_^
Divide the total number of character levels by the number of characters in the party, rounding to the nearest whole number (this is an exception to the usual ‘round down’ rule). If the result of the Average Party Level calculation ends with 0.5, the players should decide whether to round up or down.
Scenarios are designed for six characters and contained methods to adjust for tables with four players.

Yes, we've got seven - but since the latest arrival is a level 6, you've been pushed further up into high tier. (4 6/7)

Logistics.
"Mate can you come in and work out how we can put a bunch of several hundred people along a 1000km stretch of border that starts in an Alpine region covered in snow, and ends in a desert, work out how to get them to some of the most isolated pockets of terrain on the planet, how we can sustain them indefinitely - oh and they start in 36 hours from locations up to 1000km north of us to go 600km south before they spread - no rush - but have the complete answer to us in 24 hours"

It would make the game too easy i think. I prefer taking the saving throw...
At the same, she does fear a certain monster...
Argh! Choice paralysis!

A- I have a skittermander contact at our bureaucratic headquarters that might have information for you.
B- There is also a freelance merchant named Kandurasko in the market you might want to chat with.
C- I’d recommend you speak with a few of my colleagues, one from another military division and the other from the office that deals with non-vesk.
D- Like you, we’ve had some trinkets taken from the Museum of Conquest. The curator there may have insight.
E- Finally, I have a potential operative you may speak with, though I am
unsure what they will tell you, if anything.
That's five things we can investigate. I offer that we each give the two that we'd like to look into and go to the top three or four.
I vote B and C

I've run it. My group did A B D.

I just noticed. C is actually two different options so it should read:
A- I have a skittermander contact at our bureaucratic headquarters that might have information for you.
B- There is also a freelance merchant named Kandurasko in the market you might want to chat with.
C- I’d recommend you speak with a few of my colleague in another military division
D- There's also my other colleague in the office that deals with non-vesk.
E- Like you, we’ve had some trinkets taken from the Museum of Conquest. The curator there may have insight.
F- Finally, I have a potential operative you may speak with, though I am unsure what they will tell you, if anything.
So there's six option and you have already completed E.
So vote away for you next one. There is already one vote for D

Wow.
Wait. Gameday?
Does the recrutement table is finished?
Sauros

Player signups aren't until next month, but if we don't think this game will finish in time, I'll probably either drop out early (since we do have 7 players), or signup with a different character.
Since Specials tend to be combat slogs, I like to bring melee characters who don't have a lot of limited resources. Sauros is perfect for that, and I played him in last year's Special, too.

Could be pushing it to get this done by Gameday. There's at least one major combat at the end.

Most people can only use the Boon twice. Maybe three times if you burned 4 replays on Scoured Stars scenarios. Because each Chronicle only counts once towards the 8.
?
Sauros
|
It's stated in the Boon itself:
Throughout the course of the first season of the Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild (Starfinder Society Scenarios #1–01 to #1–39), players have the chance to collect several unique boons relating to the primary storyline associated with the season. These boons, titled “Journey to the Scoured Stars: Segments 1–8,” each contribute to a single Capstone boon associated with Season 1. Any player can purchase this boon if they meet the prerequisites listed below. A player’s possession of Journey to the Scoured Stars segment boons can be across multiple PCs, but a specific numbered segment counts only once toward the player’s total number of segment boons.
Whether through your direct accomplishments or the actions of allied Starfinders, you’ve made serious headway against or completely triumphed over the threat of the Scoured Stars. The Society remembers the deeds of the noble Starfinders who battled against the jinsul threat and the discovered the mysteries of the Scoured Stars, and many other Starfinders benefit from the actions of these brave veteran agents.
Prerequisites: All Factions Tier 3; at least four of the Journey to the Scoured Stars segment boons
Cost: 8 Fame (24 on subsequent purchases)
Benefit: When you select this boon for a character, pick one of the following to apply to your character immediately:
• You gain 1 extra Resolve Point. If you’ve collected all eight segments, then this increases to 2 Resolve Points.
• You gain 1 extra Hit Point for every character level you have. If you have collected all eight segments, then this increases to 2 Hit Points for every level you have.
• You can select a single saving throw (Fortitude, Reflex, or Will) and increase your bonus to that save by 1. If you have collected six or seven segments, then you can select one of the remaining two saves to increase, and if you’ve collected all eight segments, then you instead increase all your saves by 1.
• If you’ve collected all eight segments, then you can increase one of your ability scores that is currently 16 or lower by 2.Special: When you first apply this boon to a character, it costs 8 Fame. You can apply this boon only once to a given character. Subsequent purchases of this boon for different characters cost
24 Fame.
So let's say you played all 8, GMed all 8, and used your 4 Novas to replay 4 of them. You as a player have 20 Segment Boons.
You could purchase the full 8 Boon twice, and one of the half 4 Boons once. Or I suppose you could purchase the half 4 Boon five times. But probably most people will just do two of the full 8 Boons.

Is there a link to all this errata? Or should I just redownload the PDF of the revised Core Rulebook? I'd also need to markup my printed copy
