BumBum's first shot misses, but the second hits the quasit, badly wounding it.
The quasit turns with a squawk of alarm and pain.
"Durbatulûk!"
The quasit disappears from view.
The larger demon turns and lets out a roar. He grabs a chunk of debris and hurls it at Al, which smashes through more of the beautiful stained glass and hits her!
He then strides angrily towards the door, smashing pews along the way.
Double stride action.
Everybody else is up! BumBum starts the second round.
Didymus the Great |
Clearly my terrible initiative is just a sign that Didy has been conditioned not to fire until the soundtrack kicks in. So I'm posting now to get it out of the way, but definitely waiting til after Kvothe for the inspiration.
Didy's tail wags furiously as the first demon drops. "Huzzah!
Then he squints his eyes at the Alu Demon to size up his new prey, and fires off a pair of arrows in rapid succession. Finally he calls over his shoulder to his trusty sidekick, "Stay! No... Stay. Wait for your toy."

Both of Didy's arrows miss, but Al and BumBum hit, drawing another roar from the demon.

The demon strikes out with a claw at Ambrosius.

"HaHa, you fell for it Didy! I ain't lootin' no's church of Abadar. They's come after you for that I bet, with that compoundering interest and such. No thanks!"
BumBum will go into the church looking for the body of the Quasit. He wants to study it and see how it moves for his act. Imp/Quasit, BumBum doesn't really know the difference. However,if he can learn how the make the wings on his costume more realistic, he's very curious.
"OOh, look's. It's bendy in so many places!"
GM_MG |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
BumBum's arrow went neatly through the Quasit's head. While gruesome, it leaves the wings relatively intact, giving BumBum a few ideas for improving his costume.
Some scales near the altar appear to be made of gold, and are worth perhaps 20 gold pieces.
Bum Bum spots a pendant depicting a weeping angel (don't blink) on the Quasit.

GM_MG |
Didy thinks he smells another person nearby, but he can't quite identify the source.
There are two doors in the room. The southernmost door is a standard wooden one, although finely crafted, but the northern one is made of stone, with a gilded locking mechanism.
Out the windows to the south, you can see a graveyard. Several of the cemetery’s graves have been dug up, and large mounds of fresh, dark earth lie piled around gaping holes. Two individuals—swollen-looking human men equipped with shovels—are working in one of the graves.
Bent over in their labor, they are barely visible, wearing brown hooded cloaks.
Didymus the Great |
”Psst. There are cloaked figures digging out there. We should deal with them first I think.” he stops and chuckles, then continues, ”we could pick them off from here...
Didymus the Great |
"Oh yeah, good point. Well, I guess we better sneak around to get a better look at who or what they are, and what they are up to. We should be ready for a fight though, just in case."
Didy will mark the closer one as his prey from the window, then draw his bow and sneak around the building for a closer look (presumably with BumBum and Ambro, and Kvothe and Al following behind).

GM_MG |
You creep closer to the men; Kvothe and Didymus manage to remain concealed, but they notice BumBum's approach.
One of the men stands up, stretching his back as he does. He has a handkerchief tied around the lower portion of his face. The other looks over his shoulder at BumBum, before returning to digging.
“Keep back, good master goblin,” the first says in a high, oddly breathy voice. "I wouldn't come no closer. This one's all ripe with th' plague, and they be sayin' she's contagious. One whiff, and you could turn black as pitch, and deader than ol' Tar-Baphon."
BumBum the Clown |
"Yea's, okay, no closer, got's it. I's BumBum, who is you's guys?" BumBum would like to make a perception to sense motive. "You guy's seen the priest a this church today? Or heard anything off-y strangey in the church? You from Abberton? This town mighty off-y strangey, I tell's you. It always like this? When you guy's get a plague? Is that new? GM_MG |

The man is definitely acting oddly. BumBum notices there is something odd about the man's body as well. His flesh--though mostly covered by the cloak and handkerchief—is unearthly pale, but mottled with dark, bruise-like patches. He also seems to have some sort of oily residue on his skin.
"No, sir, I haven't seen that priest in a bit. Perhaps he had the same idea as you have, and decided to leave. Perhaps that would be best for all involved."
The other man grunts agreement.
"I am Jano Lindell, and this is my brother, Bindo." the man says, gesturing jerkily at the other. "But it would be best if you moved on, sir. With no priest, and plague here, and all."
Didymus the Great |
Didy will remain concealed, still not quite sure he can trust these guys.
coincidentally I will also be using perception to sense motive
BumBum the Clown |
