Hello dear players! Welcome to our Rise of the Runelords game, where everyone is a cleric. If you die, it won't be from the lack of healing. Let us start with introductions! Opening post will probably happen on Saturday or tomorrow evening.
If anybody wants to make minor changes to their characters, such as feats, domains and prepared spells, this is the time. After game starts, you won't be able to.
Please take a look at the Campaign info tab for some basic ground rules.
Note that there is some blood, gore and minor animal cruelty in the game. If there is anything that you are not comfortable with, let me know and I'll adjust.

Ribitta Andersen |

Ribbit ribbit, glad to be here!

Mashaka Lyra |

Thanks for the invite! Very happy to be here, especially with trawets and ironperenti (both GMs on games I'm in!). I'll get a review and a better post before Saturday.
It seems our group is the weird one! A Human, a Samsaran, a Tiefling, an Ifrit and a Changeling walk into a bar...

Elan Crew |

Elan is made to take care of the rogue skills: disable device and stealth as well as some blasting. He'll have spells from the fire domain in his regular slots daily. I mean for him to handle some of the arcane stuff to. Will add Kn: Arcana at 2nd level. He is also a writer; problem is he never knows if he is writing fiction or nonfiction. He isn't sure if he is making stuff up or remembering past lives. He is extremely squishy. No armor, base hit points. Ya'll form a circle around me with your armor and keep me safe :)

Tanwen Anwyl |

Hello everyone!
I need to switch over the stats on this Alias and then Tanwen should be ready to go.
Tanwen is also unarmored, but she has 15 armor class without armor, so not entirely bad, her AC will jump to 19 after using a mage armor potion, of which she currently has 3.
It appears that Tanwen is the diplomat in this group, boasting an impressive +10 Diplomacy against anyone who could be sexually attracted to her, assuming she fulfills her obedience.
Offensively, Tanwen has some room to grow. She's decent with a crossbow, but due to her dexterity dependency can't really hit with melee weapons. She also only has 8 hit points so she's a bit squishy.
Edit: Profile should be ready to go.

We also have an interesting group of deities: Two Clerics of Sarenrae, one who worships Bokrug, one who worships Arshea, and an Atheist. And we seem to only have 2 alignments in the group, Neutral Good and Chaotic Neutral.
I was looking over people's backgrounds and it appears that Tanwen is the only one local to Sandpoint.

Ribitta Andersen |

Ribitta is local to the immediate area and has visited the town's outskirts in the past, but has never called it home.

Tanwen Anwyl |

Now I need to try to figure out if anyone is Tanwen’s type. Fulfilling an obedience alone can get stale.

Mashaka Lyra |

Oh Brand is a Dwarf? I thought it was Human. It was Human before, right?
Anyway: deity-wise, Mashaka is pretty much atheist now, like said, but she carries "artifacts" from a abandoned church of Sarenrae and believes that celestial angels "guided" her, so I guess there's some affinity there. But not much, really, and she's not within one step of NG. Her divine powers come from "the Unknown". I was thinking for the future in getting her closer to Pharasma, maybe, but she will never be a cleric again.

Ribitta Andersen |

Personally I was a fan of no beard but you do you

GM Anthorg - RotR |

Ok, glad to see everyone here and ready to roll. Later today I'll review the sheets. Please make sure sheets are correct. I've also updated the Campaign Info tab, so take a peek.
@Tanwen: if you haven't already, please add to your sheet exactly what the obedience requires you to do and the benefits gained. I have tried to keep the Divine Paragons at each table to a minimum. I feel they are hard to deal with as a GM and I'll have enough work as it is. But I see a lot of roleplaying potential between you and Ribitta especially.
Both tables got themselves a Channeler of the Unknown and what better RP potential than a bunch of clerics and an atheist? You guys are going to do great! Ahem... Unless you die. What?

Tanwen's obedience is the last ability listed under the special abilities spoiler, I can put it in its own spoiler if you like.
Here's her obedience again, for anyone who is interested.
According to the feat Celestial Obedience, it takes Tanwen an hour to perform this obedience, and it can be done alone, or she can have partner(s), with or without the use of her Profession (Harlot) skill. The rules basically allow the gm to handwave the obedience fulfillment as they like, since it only takes an hour to perform her obedience and it takes us an hour to prepare our spells anyway (not sure they can be done at the same time, though prayer is part of the obedience).
If Tanwen doesn't perform her obedience, she loses access to the +4 to cha checks and cha skills against those sexually attracted to her as well as the ability to cast her domain spells.

Mashaka Lyra |

@Tanwen: Fairly easy obedience and nice bonuses. The second boon for Arshea is great (even if it just comes online at level 11). Please notice, however, that Divine Paragon gives Deific Obedience, not Celestial Obedience. Not that it makes much difference here, but wanted to point it out.
About where from, Mashaka is from Nybor - going east from Sandpoint, bordering the Sanos forest. It's not side by side, but close enough - and she probably visited Sandpoint at some point in the past. She's Varisian too, and Nybor is a city that is somewhat welcoming to different races.
She very much looks Human, as most Changelings, and without the proper knowledge the commonfolk would just take her for it. Since Tanwen is mostly Human as well, 3 of us can actually pass as somewhat "common". Of course the same doesn't apply to our Smurf (I mean, Samsaran) and Tiefling friends :) And, of course, I'm completely leaving out the fact that Mashaka might be somewhat insane and looks like a crazy hobo witch lady carrying angelic-looking gear.
EDIT: What the deuce? My avatar changed (probably because of a certain thing I wrote above). LOL!

The GM allowed me to use celestial obedience instead of deific, as per the recruitment thread, not that it matters the feats are basically the same, they just apply to different sets of deities.
IMO, there are too many different obediences and they should be unified into a single feat anyway, at least the ones that give you abilities from following a god. Of course Arshea isn't a true god, she's an angel and an Empyreal Lord.
And yea, the second boon will be amazing since Tanwen already isn't wearing armor, though I need to get her Cha bonus higher so that it ends up better than Bracers of Armor or at least better than Mage Armor, since they don't stack.
EDIT: What the deuce? My avatar changed (probably because of a certain thing I wrote above). LOL!
Yea, that changes anytime you say that word, randomly so it's not always the same.
Also, I think Mashaka is probably most likely to be Tanwen's type, but it'll depend on how crazy she gets, lol.

Mashaka Lyra |

Deific obedience does apply to Arshea as well - it’s any deity, even Empyreal Lords - here’s Ashava for example - the only thing is that to use the celestial boon instead, for a divine paragon, you would have to get the “Diverse Obedience” feat.

You should probably think about it regardless since you’d get the second boon by level 9 instead :)

Unfortunately, Divine Paragon already accelerates the boons and says that it cannot be used with Diverse Obedience. Still, 11th level is better than 16th.

Tanwen Anwyl |

What is the second boon, anyway?
Cha bonus as an Armor bonus to AC.

Ribitta Andersen |

GM, will you still approve specific feats outside of the allowable sources or was that only for selection? Specifically, I was hoping that to take the Deadly Horns tiefling racial feat (from the Book of the Damned) at level 3 to threaten at both 5 feet and 10.

Mashaka Lyra |

I added Mashaka's plans at the bottom of the sheet so we can talk about it. I plan on getting some feats to improve my channel and, if approved, try to add the guided enchantment to my weapon later on (additionally, I'll try to get a second one to have a backup holy symbol).

Ribitta Andersen |

Could I change one of my background skills from Craft: Sculpture to Lore: Frogs?

Tanwen Anwyl |

Quick question, how much did Tanwen spend on buying a round for everyone at the Rusty Dragon the night before the festival? A single ale is listed as costing 2 sp for a gallon or 4 cp for a mug, while mead is 5 cp for a mug and 2 gp for a gallon. I didn't specify what she bought other than just saying that the next round was on me.
Trying to figure out how much money I have after gaining the 100 sp.

Ribitta Andersen |

I had been imagining the mask as a generic Bauta mask but if going with the ones you suggested, I would pick the top left (pink and teal).

Ribitta Andersen |

Oh heck, I didn't realize we weren't up to our next action and posted again but luckily I caught it just in time before the editing threshold ended and was able to delete the post.

Tanwen Anwyl |

I noticed a few ages are missing from people’s profiles. It’s not overly important, I was just trying to get an idea of character’s physical appearances, since Tanwen would notice some physical features. I realize I don’t really have much to get Tanwen’s physical appearance from either, so I thought I’d give some information.
Tanwen appears human. This is reflected in her racial trait Mostly Human. Tanwen does not actually know she’s an Ifrit, and may not even know what one is. She has Chelaxian black hair very similar to the picture used for the profile. She has a holy symbol of Arshea on her chest above her bosom and dresses let’s say very liberal she’s literally walking around wearing a Courtesan’s outfit.
As a mostly human Ifrit, Tanwen has hints of red in her hair and skin is redder as well, though still within the expected range for a Cheliaxian. She could probably be mistaken for some sort of tiefling, especially being Chelish.
Overall, Tanwen might appear a little plain, if it weren’t exotic to be Chelish in this region. Of course she doesn’t dress plain, though she doesn’t wear a lot of make up either. Tanwen isn’t afraid to show off some skin and her breasts and legs are not covered very well, but she certainly doesn’t look like someone expecting to fight goblins today.

Mashaka Lyra |

I updated Mashaka to reflect it, if it helps. She had already a section with her Appearance and Behavior, so I guess the age wasn't that relevant... But I made her 23 regardless. Level 1, right? :)

Tanwen Anwyl |

Thanks Mashaka. I knew the description said she was young, and as I had figured she’s still older than Tanwen who is actually 1 year below minimum age for a cleric. Which explains Tanwen’s childish behavior.
Also just wanted to add that italics in my posts are Tanwen’s thoughts. I guess I could put them behind a spoiler saying Detect Thoughts, or maybe a sense motive might reveal Tanwen’s slight unease.

Tanwen Anwyl |

BTW, if you enter a staring contest with Ribitta, you're going to lose. She specializes in intimidation, even took a feat for it.
Sounds great.
Edit: Besides, she started it. Tanwen is just giving her the fight she was looking for.

Tanwen Anwyl |

Just don't kill each other on level one.
Hopefully the others don’t let it get that far, heck the sheriff could stop us, though he’s likely very busy right about now.
But Tanwen has no desire to spill more blood today. The only thing she’s trying to get from Ribitta right now is respect.

Ribitta Andersen |

Tensions are high, but I'm not gonna attack Tanwen, haha
It's the type of issue that could make me quit a game, so I wanna get it settled before we're too far in.

Tanwen Anwyl |

If it’s a big enough issue to make you leave the game, her age will be changed, her age isn’t meant to be a shock factor or to make her seem like a sexualized child. I hope that I can continue to play this character in a tasteful manner which does not impede upon your enjoyment. It’ll take me a moment to account for the extra years, I may end up making her squireship longer.
Edit: I've made some changes to Tanwen's backstory and her age has been adjusted. The change makes me wish I'd invested a rank into Lore (Abadar) as well as Arshea and Sandpoint, but there are no additional skill points.
