Marcus has little idea what these trees capabilities truly are. Probably just coming into town to make some syrup. Katami pulls out her bow as the string begins to glow with a bit of magical power.
Zelphari releases a stream of icy chill into the pine tree. Rime and frost flow up the bark as it continues to advance.
Shaking with fright for a moment Redd is inspired and quickly gets rid of the feeling as she fires an arrow into the trees branches. The arrow sticks into the trunk but doesn't seem to hurt it at all. You hit thanks to Inspire negating the frightened condition but Resistance negated the damage.

| 2 people marked this as a favorite. |
Ogren tries his best to join in the dancing and fun, gallantly trying to keep up with everyone and copy the moves despite his much shorter legs and the armor on him.
He smiles slightly out breath at the end. "That was fun! Can we do it again?"
Flat check vs. fear (does Inspire apply to this?): 1d20 ⇒ 15
He gives a small jump as the trees come streaming into town and quickly draws out his mace, looking at the town member speaking Taldane, "Uhh, it's okay if we attack these trees, right? It wouldn't be rude to the kami, right?"
He decides that he should wait for confirmation and instead just runs up as far as he can to get near the nearest tree, imposing himself between the much less hardy people and the tree.
"Hey there little tree-tree! You don't have to hurt people! Why don't we stop and... have some tea? We can work this out! I promise!"
Diplomacy (I know it won't help much but the principle of the matter is important): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

At Ogren's entreaty, a twinge of annoyance crosses Marcus's face... but it quickly changes to a smirk, then a sheepish grin.

@Ogren- It would have been before the inspire so it wouldn't apply.
The walking pine trees don't seem to understand of respond to Ogren at all. The trees slowly snap their roots from the ground as they move onto the stage and in front of the goblin. A thick branch snaps out at Ogren.
Branch vs Ogren AC 18: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Branch vs Ogren AC 18: 1d20 + 8 - 5 ⇒ (18) + 8 - 5 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 + Sticky Sap
@Ogren- DC 17 Reflex save or suffer the effects of a lesser tanglefoot bag, also becoming clumsy 1 until the sticky substance is removed.
A pine brute’s bark secretes sticky sap. Any creature that hits the pine brute with a melee attack, is hit by the pine brute, or otherwise touches the pine brute must succeed at a Reflex save or suffer the effects of a lesser tanglefoot bag (Core Rulebook 545), also becoming clumsy 1 until the sticky substance is removed. A creature striking the pine brute with a weapon or object can automatically succeed at this Reflex save by leaving the object stuck to the pine brute. The object can then be removed with a successful Athletics check.
Ogren takes a beaten as the branch whips through the air, striking him across the chest and face, mid diplomacy. The goblin spits out a mouthful of pine needles, many of which remain stuck in his teeth.

Looking at her comrades' wounds, Katami proposes.
I'm trained in healing and have a healing kit. I can try to tend your wounds.
Turning to the man she says I don't know. Have an idea what could have disturbed the spirit of the Forest?

Were those trees evil Kami? Redd asks the village elder.
