Sorry to not post or see this over the weekend, I was derailed by my partner's mother being hospitalized for pneumonia. I will catch up tonight and finish details.

GM Hmm |

Hey, real life is crazy right now. With three players, we can get started. If our fourth player does not show up in 24 hours, I will recruit another player from Cottonseed so that we can keep going.

GM Hmm |

I decided not to wait and have put up a recruitment notice. If our missing player shows up, we will have 5 person party. If our missing person does not show up, at least we will have our fourth member.
I just hope that our missing player is okay. There is so much sickness around. I am sending good thoughts into the Universe.

GM Hmm |

We will have an experienced 5th player or 4th, depending on how you count, showing up to join us. Welcome Eric Collins of France!

![]() |

Also, here is an educational bit. Feel free to jump in and choose a path for the group. Make the choice. Be the first one who acts. If everyone waits for someone else to act, the whole group just sits around. If you don't make a choice I will roll a D3 and pick who you visit first.

Sorry, Don't know how I missed this
Your Character's Name: "Old Dog" Ravant
OPF Character Number:2003
Faction boon slotted:Horizon Hunter's Champion
Day Job/Crafting Roll/No Roll: Scouting Lore(T) (+4)
With the boons, note that I have played 1-06 (Lost on the Spirit Road) with this character (his only scenario) and chose to purchase the Katana as a result - because this may be the only character I run for whom it makes sense.
Pathfinder Swords (3): Two potions of minor healing

Hi Eric, nice to have you join in.

Hello, all, again, but now with a character.
And I see I have the Experienced trait! W00t!
Your Name: Eric Collins
Your Character's Name: Sekhem (ex-Tanuak)
OPF Character Number: 101218-2004
Faction boon slotted: Radiant Oath
Day Job/Crafting Roll/No Roll: Academia Lore
Downtime roll, DC 14, task level 0, 8 days: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Note: I played a Wizard in a Quest (Sandstone) and should get the Chronicle soon, am playing the same PFS number now w. this character as a level 1 rebuild, thus I put the name "Tanuak" up since that'll appear when reporting)
3 points in spells as I dutifully follow the teachings of Sorrina Westyr.
Oh, she kindly gave me two scrolls of Heal. That's nice!
What is also nice (I hope?) is that I have 1 Glyph as a GM and can thus give one play a Hero Point at the beginning of the game.
I will donate this to our Champion Serane (so you should start with 2 Hero Points). Is that okay? (choosing you so you can reroll one of your Champion reactions or such!).
I have most of the stuff in my sheet and will finish this and do my avatar bar stuff in a bit.
Thanks for having me!
I missed seeing Hmm, for one, and am super happy to meet these Half-Elves and their players!

With pleasure Serane!
NOTE: received my Chronicle for Sandstone, so I updated my character sheet
(just a few Gold and the "Sand Slide" Boon that I slot - helps avoid a trap's effects)

And if you crit' fail the Aid Another you give a -1, so beware (but some bards get Inspire Competence, which always Aids Another.

![]() |

Thanks for the advice.
I wasn't sure if everyone could roll the checks or if they were restricted. Like, one person could do diplomacy and the next would have to use another skill.

GM Hmm |

That happens in some scenarios. If it does, I am not a 'gotcha' GM. I will tell you the mechanics so that you know what is going on.

![]() |

I completely forgot to add my roll to my post.
Should I go ahead and post one separately? I'm fine if I missed the chance to roll, just want to make sure for the future as well.

GM Hmm |

Oh, go ahead and roll. As I said before, I'm not a 'gotcha' GM. And there are times we'll retcon something if someone makes a mistake.

Not crazy bad. Just crazy full. Also, I may have lied to you about being back today. I had virtual staff meetings all day. It's good to be actually doing work again even if its from home.

Don't know if I'm too late to join or not... You said to come over here to join this game; however, if it's too late in the game, let me know and I'll just bow out. I'll bring my bard over to this game from the other one, if that's OK.

GM Hmm |

Hey, I'm back tonight. Aiaize, welcome! Gnome, it sounds like your character Lyric is no longer in your other game? If that is the case, we can allow another halfling to join the half-elves. Go ahead and bring your bard into this game.
Gnome, I know that you're blind, so I will do my best to describe maps and do things like tell you how far away bad guys are. I am also going to ask everyone else to help me with these descriptions by not just saying that your character moved, but also describing what that movement means. How far are you from a bad guy? Are you flanking someone? If the map is a clock, where on the clockface is something happening? Is there cover in the way? What kind?
Alaize and Lyric, I will take a moment to bring you into the last of the party scene, and then we'll start the adventure for real. Please feel free to read through the start of Gameplay to reacquaint yourselves with what has been happening so far.
Oh, and every one, I am going to ask you all to have fun and be patient as we welcome our last two players. Welcome to Alaize and Lyric!
PS Alaize, can you fill in more of your character sheet please? I would love it if you could put attacks and skills on your sheet to make it easier to bot you if needed!

![]() |

"Hi, I'm Pip! I'm Hmm's main PF2 Character, and if you click on my character sheet, you'll see that I have a crazy detailed botting spoiler. You do not have to do anything this complicated, but I would love to see your main attacks written as dice expressions."

GM Hmm |

By the way, 'Anders' is a personal NPC who I've added into the backstory of multiple games. When I was doing my all-Tengu adventure, Anders was known as 'That-Jerk-Anders' and blamed for EVERYTHING that went wrong. Bad rolls in the lodge? That jerk Anders had done a prank that wrecked your chances of a good roll. Late to an event? That jerk Anders gave you bad directions.
It does my heart good to see 'That Jerk Anders' get blamed again for a late arrival.

Welcome all!
For Gnome: am I correct in thinking that you have what we write read out loud to you?
If so, are there some things we can do in how we write that makes it is easier or clearer in being read?
Thanks for joining us you two!

Thanks for being so welcoming n.n
Here's the requested info:
Your Name: Aleister VII
Your Character's Name: Alaize Crimbraze.
OPF Character Number: # 2386451-2001
Faction boon slotted: Horizon Seeker.
Day Job/Crafting Roll/No Roll: Lore: Underworld: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Pathfinder Training: Magic 3.
Free Items: lv1 mage armor Scroll, lv1 heal Scroll.
I also added more of the build details to the alias profile, I think I covered all the important things but then again it's My first time playing 2e x.x

GM Hmm |

Aliaize, thanks that looks better. I would still like dice expressions for common attacks, but that looks good! I realize that is may be the first time many of you are playing 2E. I will be trying to explain as we go!
Hmm

Your Name: Carolyn
Character's Name: Lyric Earthsong
OPF Character Number: 2382746-2008
Faction boon slotted: Horizon Hunters
[b] Day job/Crafting Roll/No Roll: Herbalism Lore: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
[b] Field Commissioned Officer
GM Hmmm To answer you question, no, Lyric is no longer in that game.
To give you the basics that I give every GM before the start of every game. I simply need a brief description of what's on an image, map, etc. I don't need Faulkner's 10page description of the brocade drapes behind the main character in a scene but don't be Hemingway and neglect to tell me that there's a dog sitting next to the Old Man fishing (the dog might bite). I honestly don't care about any extraneous stuff on the pictures. I need to know what's important for the actual game. So, if I'm supposed to be talking to an NPC and it's a Gnome that wears glasses... I need to know that he or she is a Gnome and what gender pronoun to use but I don't necessarily need to know about the glasses (unless they are pertinent to the character/storyline/plot.
Combat... Combat is easiest to do by functioning in relationship to where I am and I'm the center of the clock. Forward/directly in front of me is 12 o'clock, directly behind me is 6 (i.e. on your 6), 3 o'clock is directly to the right, 9 o'clock is to the left and so on. Then, you simply add distance. So, for example, in a combat situation, it might look something like the following:
Serane is engaged with a bandit at 12 o'clock at approx. 15 ft away, while Tihun is keeping another bandit at bay with her whip about 5 ft from you on your 2 (the bandit is 10' away also at 2). Alaize is next to you at 9 o'clock preparing to attack while Ravant is charging two bandits at about 11 o'clock 10' away, he sweeps one bandits feet out from under him and cleaves the other's arm right off leaving him bloodied and rather stunned. What would you like to do?
That's kind of how combat looks. To answer you question Sekhem, I use JAWS, it's a screen reader program. To over simplify it, it takes the computer code that is designed to be read as text (that's underneath all the visuals you see) and reads it, processes it and turns it into audible format; it also makes it possible to maneuver around the screen using keybindings rather than a mouse (either by using defaults that are already programmed into software or by allowing me to create keybinds if the program doesn't have keybindings.... sometimes -- depending on the program, whether or not that underlying coding is in place, etc., etc.).

Alaize -- yes, please do!
Lyric -- I am going to do my darnedest! I'm also going to be asking for my players to help with this, because games are collaborative things. I'm running into new territory for me, but I'm a GM who's already been working with a local DEAF GM on ways to run games in ASL, a language that I'm studying. I like the idea of trying to adapt new ideas and skills to make games accessible, but will likely make mistakes along the way!

While I cannot speak to that legal situation, I will say that in every other game I've played (I've played over a dozen now), I haven't had any real problems working through accessibility issues except the one that brought me here. So, relax... it's not as difficult as it sounds.
Oh, Hi Alaize! Which Feldspar? (The wizard or the Dwarf?) lol You get to experience my one and only truly melee character.

![]() |

Sorry for the confusion.
Ravant is the same as Feldspar the wizard.
Ravant is my first primarily melee character, but that's not hard as I only currently have three.
lol Not your fault we're in a game with two characters with the name "Feldspar." And I pretty much only play healers and casters; so the monk is my one and only melee character out of the cast of ne'er do wells. Right now, I have 5 or 6 PFS2 characters 2 SFS and I think 4 PF2 non-society characters I'm running in one game or another. Gotta have something to keep me busy.

GM Hmm |

Alright, the party's over!
QUESTION 1:
Have you all picked your Pathfinder Training yet? Let me know what helpful items you are borrowing from the Grand Lodge!
QUESTION 2:
Would you like me to record all your gifts from the Faction Heads in a spoiler at the top of the campaign to help you keep track? Will that work for all of you?
QUESTION 3:
Do you want to pick the order you do your missions in, or do you just want me to roll you through them in the order listed below, starting you on a new mission everytime you finish the old one?
Your missions are:
Calisro wants you to go to Westgate to depetrify a falsely-accused naga friend.
Eando wants you to go to the Flotsam Graveyard to track down smuggled cargo and decide the fate of one of the creatures that has been smuggled. Is it redeemable or should it be destroyed?
Fola wants you to go to the Precipice Quarter, and retrieve a body from a house that may be haunted.
Gorm wants you to contact a scholar at the College of Mysteries in the Petal District, and bring back a copy of one of the dangerous scrolls she has been working on.
