Don't know if I'm too late to join or not... You said to come over here to join this game; however, if it's too late in the game, let me know and I'll just bow out. I'll bring my bard over to this game from the other one, if that's OK. ![]()

By "tactical" I'm presuming you mean combat scenes and that's relatively simple. What I tell GMs is that the easiest way to describe a combat situation is the way the blind and the military do it; it's basically a clock system. You use the person as the center of a clock. 12 o'clock is straight ahead; 6 o'clock (i.e. on your 6) is directly behind you; 3 o'clock is directly to the right; and, 9 o'clock is directly to the left and so on. From there you just simply add distances. So, for example, GM Hmmm is at 1 o'clock about 10ft away fighting a skeleton. At 2 and about 15 ft, there's a pair of wolves chomping on Jesse Davis who is prone and bleeding. Directly at your 6, KingTrey is fending off a zombie. And, from your position, you can see a pack of 5 more wolves headed in fast (positioned between 8 and 9 in a v-like formation) they're about 60 feet away. What would you like to do? ![]()

Been using Discord for quite some time (started using it for WoW) and, while its not perfect (nothing is), they've made it compliant enough that I can use it for pbd and just comms in general. And, thank you, for inviting me to the game... been cooped up for a little over 2 months now so trying to keep busy -- so if you have a seat at that Absalom Initiation table... yeah, I'd like to come in.. Don't know anything about Meetup but will check it out later. Thank you. ![]()
How am I holding up? Well, let's see... Most of the games are being filtered through Warhorn, which is to say, you have to register through Warhorn and Warhorn is not ADA compliant and, as a blind player, that means I can't access them. So, my social isolation (something I already experience in this community quite a bit) has become more complete because, often times (although not always) when I ask if I can register in other ways, I'm ignored or told that I'm mistaken because well they know one or two blind people they've played with that sign up for their games (but when these people are asked for assistance on how to navigate Warhorn, they are mute -- suggesting they either aren't blind or they aren't accessing Warhorn themselves). I've tried using pbp on Paizo's website for the first time this Con and was berated and told that it wasn't Paizo's problematic website code this person's individual misunderstanding of how a screen reader works but, rather, JAWS' programmers not doing their job correctly... Freedom Scientific has been in the business since the 1970s; adaptive tech, like screen readers are the reason you have things like laptops, cell phones, tablets and the like... but they don't know what they're about... No, Paizo hasn't completely complied with the law yet -- and that's OK, mistakes happen. What we don't do, folks, is berate the messenger because one doesn't happen to like the message. |
