Sorry
Spanner goes to the door and tries to open it.
"Need to get out of here."
Engineering 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33 +4 to open locks or repair starship hull

GM Sasha |

The door opens without problem as it is lit with blue lights signifying 'open', or 'unlocked'.
The cluster expels another wave of semi-darkness.
10d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 2, 2, 1, 5, 3, 2, 4) = 29
Benoit Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Tec Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Jazz Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Reynold Fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Spanner Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
1d4 ⇒ 4
Everyone only takes 14 negative damage this time.

![]() |

Jazz will try again if he can mysticism: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26 if he can't identify it, he will rush through the open doors and into the south room.
Everyone out, unless I take the time to disable the trap.

![]() |

Reynold beats feet, following Jazz through the door and out of the room.
Double move out of the room, Perception to search the new room if an action remains. A little lost with the fog of war, where is the party going?

![]() |

A medbay might be just the thing right now.

![]() |

Benoit and TEC-9 hustle through the door as the negative energy assaults them again. With his energy shield protecting him the attack is absorbed before reaching Benoit. However, TEC-9 is damaged by it again.
They continue their movement down to the end of the corridor and shine their lights north once they reach the end of the hallway.

GM Sasha |

As you all leave the room the voice comes over the speakers, “My sincerest apologies. My acolytes are supposed to keep these areas clear of voidboils. I’ll find out who was responsible and have them jettisoned into space. This is no way to treat guests. Please, take a moment to rest in our nearest medical bay, then join me in the banquet hall.”
The medbay contains four mk 3 serums of healing are standing neatly in a cluster on the edge of the counter.
As Benoit turns the corner, two ysoki stand near the end of the hall. One is Biter, the other, a female ysoki with black fur dressed in a tight gray bodysuit leans against the wall next to the door. Next to her is an open wall panel, its wires hanging out. She eyes the Benoit with interest.

![]() |

Spanner will take a 1 minute rest here.

![]() |

Benoit does not approach them, but instead takes 10 minutes to rest and repair TEC-9.
He also grabs a healing serum for himself.
If possible Benoit will take an extra 10 minutes after the first ten to do full repairs on TEC-9

![]() |

Jazz will also take 10 minutes to rest here and spend RP to regain SP.
Whoever is up front, you should take the last serum. Jazz grabs one himself.
After the 10 minute rest. We should check the north door before we go talk to those guys on the East side. Less backtracking to do. Benoit, this way.

![]() |

Reynold takes a few minutes to catch his breath with the others. "Oh NOW Mr. Hospitable cares about his guests. Voidboils are such an embarassment, no way to treat guests! No, they deserve only the finest AMBUSHES and DEATHTRAPS." He then brings up the rear behind Benoit.

GM Sasha |

As Benoit is working on his drone...
The light around the north door suddenly changes from red to blue. The voice calls out over the ship’s intercom, “If you don’t mind, I have something to show you. In this room we grow all manner of plants for various medicinal, recreational, and deadly purposes. If you could please help me harvest some poison to replace the poison you used in the earlier trial, I would appreciate it.”
Biter enters the room and instructs those who are present on the proper use of the tools available to harvest gas-filled bulbs from a rare plant and bring them over to the extraction machine. "The bulbs must be carried by an unarmored hand as the alloys in most armors, including armored clothing, will immediately disrupt the bulbs and cause the gas to fill the room," Biter says patiently.
If you wish to attempt, roll an appropriate skill check

![]() |

With a consternated frown, Reynold removes a gauntlet from his armor and tries to handle a bulb and bring it over to the machine.
Sleight of Hand?: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21

![]() |

Spanner will try and determine the best way to perform the transfer.
Physical Science: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Life Science: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

![]() |

Benoit stays as far away from the plants as he can.

![]() |

Fortitude: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Assuming he doesn’t suffer horribly, Reynold curses under his breath and tries again.
Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25

![]() |

If it’s inhaled, does the poison apply if he never took down his EP from the murder room? If it does apply, that’s 15 Damage plus weakened. I’ll update my stats tomorrow but it shouldn’t affect my second Sleight of Hand attempt since it’s not a Dexterity poison.

![]() |

Spanner gives Reynold a dose of Antitoxin.

![]() |

Reynold accepts Spanner's medicinal. "Thanks. Cheers, mate." He tilts it toward the android and downs the antitoxin.
Fortitude (antitoxin): 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 4 = 14 Oh come on.
Fortitude (antitoxin, next round): 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 4 = 15 OH COME ON.
Promotional Reroll (2 GM novas): 1d20 + 5 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 4 + 2 = 20 OH COME ON!!!
Fortitude (antitoxin, 2 rounds later): 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 4 = 28 So assuming it only needs one save to stop the progression, Reynold ends at staggered. Joy. Anything else particularly special?
Impaired: The victim takes an additional –2 penalty to the affected checks, and the affected DCs decrease by an additional 2. If he has 1 or more levels in a spellcasting class whose key ability score is Wisdom, he can’t cast his 2 highest levels of spells from that class.
Staggered: Unsure, but I assume that means he's perpetually staggered? You can take a single move action or standard action each round, but not both, nor can you take full actions. You can still take swift actions, but not reactions.
Several seconds later, Reynold sways back and forth, then sits down on the floor. "I, uh, don't feel so good fellas."
On the plus side, if this poison means Reynold bites the dust at the end of this scenario I can bring him back as a borai, which I'm actually pretty excited about.

![]() |

Sorry, Reynold, just stay in the back. Unless you have a wish to die with honor for some reason. As far as resting, I don't think we have hours to spare to wait until you are fully recovered.

GM Sasha |

The other ysoki then speaks up, "Starfinders... on my ship. Well, it’ll be my ship before long; I’m a patient woman. The name’s Breeze. Did the old man drag you all the way out here? For what? To become his tool?” She turns and snaps two cable harnesses together. The door she stands next to immediately opens to reveal a grand banquet hall before walking in and taking a seat on top of the table.
This opulent room stands in stark contrast against the industrial interior of the rest of the ship. In the center of the room stands a long, smoked glass table with shadow-leather bound, high-backed seats surrounding it. Above them floats four ellipsoid chandeliers, each with a rounded bottom that glows with a gentle yellow light and rare plants from the Shadow Plane growing from a small garden atop each chandelier. The chandeliers slowly rotate around in a circle. Three balconies rise above the hovering garden: two smaller balconies to the fore-port and fore-starboard, and a wide shallow balcony looming over all on the aft side of the grand hall. All positions have a majestic view of shadow space through the starboard side window that encompasses the entire wall, allowing the dim light of shadow space to glow throughout the chamber. The floor is a velvet-like carpet that makes any footfall soundless. Modern art from around shadow space adorn the walls. Double doors open on the forward wall with single doors exiting on each balcony.

![]() |

Nice to meet you Breeze as Jazz extends his hand to shake hers.
And I wasn't dragged out here, I came here of my own free will. Our mission is going well if you ask me.

![]() |

Reynold staggers in behind Jazz's optimistic assertion, nearly tripping over one of the high-backed chairs. "Heh heh. Tool. YOU'RE a tool, Breeze. I'm a free—" he doesn't quite finish as he loses balance and catches himself on the table.

GM Sasha |

Breeze cocks her head curiously at Jazz,"'Of your own free will', and 'mission'? Those two don't necessarily go together very well. Plus, 'mission' implies that you do not pull the strings. Who is your string puller? Huh? Is her metric of mission going well that?" the white haired ysoki says pointing at Reynold.

![]() |

Free will and mission does go together. I choose to see this mission through rather than be a coward and run away. Starfinder society has sent me on the best mission I could ever ask for no strings attached. The real string puller here is the evil Datch, who has been playing mind games with us ever since we got here. First his pets that hide in the shadows, then a puzzle game, and then some shadow energy. Not to mention he thought we couldn't harvest a bulb. I would like to bring Datch to justice dead or alive. And if you ask me about the metric of the mission, I can measure things in terms of deaths and successes. We were successful in defeating the pets, solving the puzzles and harvesting some bulbs. And deaths, nobody in the party has died yet, so when you talk about the metric of the mission, my mathematical calculations state we are doing excellent and we are meters ahead of the enemy. He pauses for a second to catch his breath Just don't take that last statement literally, the enemy is probably several meters beyond that door.

![]() |

@Reynold I'm waiting for one of my characters to die for the same reason.
"What's wrong with being a tool? Tools have purpose, a reason to be kept. If you're not a tool, you're trash to be thrown away casually. Which are you, Breeze? Tool or trash?"

GM Sasha |

"Datch?" she gawks incredulously. "She’s just one ysoki with a big mouth. All this will blow over anyway—just ignore her. Datch was simply pointing out the mistakes of the Society. Blame should really go to the Society’s leadership."
Breeze then turns to Spanner, "At least this one accepts being a tool. Though, to be honest, wouldn't you rather a more skilled master wield you? Think to the actions of your leadership. Aren't you embarrassed by their ineptitude?"

![]() |

"Assuming I was, why would I speak to you about it?"

![]() |

Breeze, are you apart of Starfinder Society? If not I encourage you to join. It seems you are trying too hard to find flaws in the Starfinder Society and flaws in other things as well, when there are none. You are simply looking for something that isn't there.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 to get Breeze to join Starfinder Society, or at least get Breeze to like it.
Also, after the conversation is over and just before we enter the door on our right, Jazz Kraz will cast invisibility on himself.

![]() |

"She's pointing out mistakes that DON'T EXIST, ya goober!" The loopy Reynold drifts into what manifests as an inebriated impression of Datch. "'Oh LoOk At ThE sTaRfInDeRs BeInG vIoLeNt ToWaRd JiNsUls WhO wAnT tO mUrDeR aLl ThE pEoPlE! WhAt mooooOOOOOOONSTERRRRRrrrrrrrrrs!'" He blows a sloppy raspberry with his tongue.
Not sure if you want a check of some kind, or if we're just shooting the Breeze (metaphorically...for now, I suspect).

GM Sasha |

Breeze has been talking to you while sitting atop the table in the banquet hall. You can cast invisibility if you like. Also, this conversation is a part of the scenario. You are welcome to end it any time you like.
Breeze frowns, “Didn't Jadnura lead you all into a big golden bubble without really knowing what was in there and then get most of the Society marooned?”

![]() |

Oh, I thought we were outside the room, I don't cast invisibility yet, but you can assume my character does so the minute the conversation ends, assuming we aren't immediately thrown into combat.
Jazz looks over at Breeze, Are you asking me this question, or one of the others?

![]() |

"You are right. We are Starfinders. Going off into the great unknown is kind of what we do. Even though that unknown could be and probably is dangerous."

![]() |

Up to this point Benoit has been completely preoccupied with repairing TEC-9, but Breeze's comment about Jadnura catches his attention.
He puts his arm around Reynold's waist, trying to steady him, and says,
"What are you trying to say about Jadnura?"

![]() |

"I fully understand now why you are not yet the Master of this craft." Spanner becomes dismissive of Breeze. "Biter, what's our next test?" Spanner leaves the room unless Biter indicates he should stay.

![]() |

Man, this Biter really doesn't like Starfinder Society guys. Actually scratch the idea of casting invisibility on my guy precombat after conversation ends.
Then he speaks low enough so only his allies can hear.
I have a feeling we could enter one final battle, who is our front line? I'll offer Invisibility to cast on you before we enter the next round. It lasts 8 minutes, so it gives us time to finish conversation and then be invisible for the first round of combat, really catching the enemy off guards.

![]() |

He addresses his allies again so only they can hear I don't know about you all, but, do we want to continue to speak to Biter? He seems impossible to get through to. It is like getting a Hilary Clinton supporter to go vote for Trump. Or whatever politics exist in Starfinder, football teams like Cleveland Browns vs Steelers, etc. Some rivalry of some kind does exist in Starfinder somewhere.
