Just for reference, I just noticed an issue with my character. I don't know how, but I somehow ended up putting an extra point in Wisdom when I wrote her up. Since I can't find any indication of why I did this, I'm assuming I made a copy mistake when I moved her from one character sheet to another. I've fixed it on my character sheet (dropping her from 12 to 11 Wis and +6 to +5 Perception, for some reason I recorded my will save (0) correctly) and updated my profile on the forums here to reflect the new numbers. I don't think I've made any perception checks since we started. I've only played the character once so I honestly didn't notice it. Hopefully it's the only mistake, but fee free to look it over to make sure I didn't make any others.

No worries. Until recently I mostly played at FTF conventions. I furiously updated my online stuff over the last week but still occasionally find something little that is off. :)

Yeah, I mostly play over VTT. I usually just run a game or two for the PbP cons and it's usually over Discord.

I do let others speak up first in this case.
And i do have the problem for a few days, that Paizo.com is loading so slowly for me, sometimes i just can't sign in.
I have to try at other times of the day then if the connection is more stable. On my end all is fine. Paizo itself seems also doing fine, somewhere between those ends is broken.
Oh and i posted so often it's time for others to shine. ;) Still so excited to be able to roleplay more then in a face to face session because the time limit is not so strict because the store will close after your finished and tapping their feet because they want to go home...

Paizo might be slow with the self-isolated people playing outpost, and checking in more often than usual.
I agree about pbp roleplay. It's fun to stretch your creative writing muscles and do a deep dive into your character and the situation. In a pbp guide i read when I started, it said "Not every player might read everything you wrote" but it encouraged players to write it anyway to help colour the world, and influence other players to post more as well. It's encouraging as a GM to see players invested in playing and the story as well.

I'm enjoying your character. Playing online like this is different but I think it actually helps out people who want to really get into character and spend time in talks and discussions.

I remember after i picked the next lowest character number after for this scenario i have i had a look at her theme and thought to myself: Oh my... she will really go mad and is raging with holy fire to kill cult member who are not willing to redeem themselves.

Oh Ziamat's token is too small. 2x2 squares because our dragon is large.
So how does this combat works on that map?

Ah, sorry in my first time i played this scenario with another character Raval's henchmen were Quorlus.
So is there a random element to it? Would be a nice feature to have that for all the repeatable scenarios.

No I just left that detail out, but (tried to, unless I forgot!) kept the mechanics the same as it didn't really effect the story.
Mostly because I liked the crazy cultist icon I found.
Please keep roleplaying it the way you are though,I don't want my aesthetic choices change your experience of the scenario.

Weapon Damage
The energy and kinetic damage types are described below, including the abbreviations for each that appear in the weapon tables in this chapter. Weapons that deal multiple types of damage have an ampersand between the types (such as “B & E” for a weapon that deals bludgeoning and electricity damage). For such weapons, half the damage dealt is one type, and half is the other (if the damage done is an odd number, select one damage type to round up, rounding down the other damage type normally).
That's from the CRB page 169.
So i would say she picks the holy damage because we all saw that fire is not as effective.

Yes sorry again for the delay guys. I've been rushing to finish the house I'm building, and had some family over today to keep the project moving. Hard to crack the whip while I'm on my laptop playing Starfinder.
A little TMI behind the gm screen, I have been building a house since last year and the end is in sight. But I have a hard deadline now, I've been hired with an emergency service in a city nearby and begin their training program beginning of May. So once the course starts (and I will keep you all updated) I may be limited to posting in the evenings. It's been a crazy time here, thanks for bearing with me!

Glad your having some spring there. We have had lots of rain this week and are looking forward to a nice weekend.
I'll be starting to move into the new house this weekend. Still lots of work to do but it will be nice to have the family in our own place again. Been staying with family since Oct 2018, which was how I found pbp Starfinder to keep my sanity!
I recently learned that 60% of my upcoming training will be delivered online due to covid-19, so my posting in May *shouldn't* be affected too badly. My hope is to keep the same pace until we're complete.

I don't personally own a physical copy of the core rulebook but i saw someone who just wrote the right numbers with a ballpen into that book.
And i remember the first time i tried to use starship combat rules there was complaining about how the reward for some actions are not enough or beating the DC was really hard for especially a level 1 character.

I am so sorry for not posting something here for the past few days! Got into a completely unproductive mode and wasn't doing much of anything for a little bit there.

Now that we played for a few rounds of Starship Combat it's time to bring up my thoughts.
At first i thought it was a wonderful idea to let the pilot roll for Initiative for the next round but then as a Magic Officer and with a Captain in this group i came across some issues.
As a Magic Officer i only act in the Engineering Phase and that's before Initiative for the Starship Combat is rolled.
Knowing how good or bad our Pilot has rolled beforehand makes me not using the Precognition Action(giving the Pilot a +2 circumstance bonus for Initiative), because it gives me this bad i am metagaming feeling.
The only other thing i can do is 'scanning' the enemy vessels which is usally done once or twice per combat when there is only one enemy vessel and nothing special is happening besides getting rid of those hull points from the enemy vessels.
So this makes me feel forced to always use only one action ever once the initial 'scanning' was done.
There could be encounter for Starship Combat in which you are always having the enemy vessel(s) in close range aka 5 hexes so Eldritch Shot would be completly useless. And having an Ace Pilot maxed out Piloting and rolling high also makes you feel very useless in the team when all you do it pushing the Initiative for you Pilot into abstruse numbers like +40!
As for Captain:
Thankfully the Captain can help anybody on the team and give the little nudge of +2 and the best part it's an unnamed bonus so it would stack with the circurmstance bonus from Magic Officer for Initiative for example.
Captain can also use once per Combat penalty on the enemy making actions for a certain phase waaaay harder and a push action even more difficult!
But rolling out of phase is giving the player who is Captain right now one less option. As in:
Most players don't want to be seen as metagaming and cheating and to give a roll which is up 2 below the Difficulty Class too low for succes this little nudge and making it a successful roll does at least for me feel like cheating.
Although technically because this is a play by post and we can't really post only in our phase and would be forced to wait for people like me posting at irregular times or people in a timezone waaaaaay off then the majority...

But i see that also in face to face sessions Starship Combat could drag for a long time especially if most rolls are lower then average on the dice and the party it not built as a perfect bridge crew.

- I see a design flaw but can't put my finger on it. Because some classes are rubbish in Starship Combat.
- Play by post is exposing the terrible waiting time for the other players until they finally can do their one action.
- We need to live with a few things which are not the best in the interest of being able to finish this fast like rolling initiative beforehand and giving players like me the bad feeling of metagaming.

I do enjoy this Starship Combat and i do love the little bit of combat banter we can throw in which is usually not done in face to face sessions i experienced.
Still this system is not the best and i which for something more fluid and fast paced and making all the players feel more involved into the action.
