Omrax will offer the climber a lift to the bottom, fully expecting him not to accept.
Sir Jack, I am certain we can offer thee a faster passage to the bottom of this crevasse if you should thy mind.
As the party and Omrax descend by various means, he will scan below for evil auras.
Arnaut

”Hoho, faster passage to the bottom, lads!” Arnaut cheers from his position on deck next to the main mast of the Seaward Gull. ”Booty awaits us at the bottom!” He pulls out a foot drum and a lure and starts singing his favorite sea shanty.
Hamish Carmody O'Toole
|
"You heard the captain, full sheets!" Mr. Phips yells at the crew.
"Uh... that's acting captain." Hamish corrects, with a slight frown. "Acting!"
But the Seaward Gull is already diving towards the bottom of the crevice, at full speed, the tiny sailors racing up into the rigging and across the deck, bringing all its speed to bear.
Hamish curses colorfully, and hurries after.

As the party and Omrax descend by various means, he will scan below for evil auras.
As Omrax prepares his prayer, Whisper escapes Rokgurn’s custody momentarily to fly in formation with the paladin’s ghostly mount.
The Bold One catches the hawk’s beak opening in his peripheral vision and in a ⚡ FLASH ⚡ Rokgurn’s familiar appears to Omrax alone as an avoral agathion, which mouths the words:
You’re kidding, right?
As Omrax completes his prayer to the Inheritor, the ENTIRE LANDSCAPE ERUPTS INTO BLINDING LIGHT, like the Gallowspire Crater has suddenly been teleported to the surface of the sun.
With the landscape so corrupted to evil by the Whispering Tyrant’s long imprisonment, Omrax can discern no individual entities devoted to the archlich.
When the paladin's eyesight returns to normal, Whisper and the Winged Celestial are gone, and if Omrax mentions the experience to the others, they have no idea what he’s talking about.

Everyone makes it down safely (you may re-up your buffs if you wish). Though some complaints are heard as Jack takes around five minutes to make it to the bottom.
The party moves into the passageway beyond, where Ollysta Zadrian stands patiently in a half-collapsed chamber. She smiles in greeting. “Let me guess.”
A ball of light shines brightly in her hand, although its power seems dimmed by the oppressive atmosphere of the room. “Captain Arnaut took his time and that’s why you’re tardier than the other groups?”
The walls are constructed entirely from the bones of thousands of humanoid creatures, fused together with unknown power.
“It is now time to make your way to the wards and move beyond them. Be cautious, Pathfinders. And may the Dawnflower light your way.”
☀
As you move into the first chamber, you see mounted on the walls are numerous severed heads of a variety of magical creatures and beings, writhing in a mockery of life.
At the opposite end of the room is a trio of crystalline oozes that seem to vibrate, as though in anticipation of strong emotions being brought to bear.

Arnaut steps off the deck of the Seaward Gull and salutes the minuscule crew. ”Lovely job Phips - absolutely smashing.” He winks at Olluysta as he puts his hat away. ”Oh don’t look at me like that, Olli - it’s not like the crew actually listened to me.”

For the crystals, any weaknesses? And any resistances or immunities for the sludges?
”If there’s one thing I’ve learned about crystalline creatures,” Arnaut says cheerfully as he pulls a tuning fork from his belt pouch, ”it’s that they’re terrible with harmonics.” He taps the fork against his hand and presses the end against his ear. A pure note floats in the air on his whistle, swirling around the outside edges of the room in quick circles. A shimmering veil descends, silvery motes chiming faintly like bells - until they fall upon the disgusting blobs! An ear-jarring cacophony bursts from each slime, pummeling each creature’s neighbors with pure discordant noise!

Rokgurn's heart begins to race at the disappearance of his beloved familiar and he is drenched in a cold sweat as he recalls the past. He had lost a boatload of animal companions in his earlier days as a Pathfinder until his Psyche split apart birthing his companion Whisper. No longer would he need to mourn the loss of another companion as a mere figment of his imagination would now accompany him on his travels and would return each day regardless of the trials that they must endure.
Rokgurn calms his mind and notices that this was a mere trick of magic and that his familiar is still very much alive.
Just a RP Post. This character has lost so many Animal Companions that was becoming obscene. Practically an entire session of Wild Kingdom. I am a little ashamed actually. ;)

"Seem like things you'd be haulin' outta the bilge." Hamish says, at the sight of the oozelike things.
Knowing little of such things, he simply casts a quick spell, hastening the movements of all those around him, then points his fiery cutlass towards the spiky ones on the left.
Casting Haste, affects everyone.
"The Gull's hull should be able to withstand those spikes." He says. "Have at 'er men! Full sails."
"And make sure Poxy Pete keeps his hands to hisself!" He calls after, as the ship lurches forward.
The Seaward Gull races across the intervening space, hitting the strange wall of shimmering sound with a harmonic pulse. The entire ship shudders slightly, and many of the crewmen throw their hands up over their ears, as the tones assault their senses.
6 hp's damage, after temp hit points expended
Still, the ship keeps going, gaining some elevation as it moves forward, sailing right over the rotted furniture in the way, and firing a barrage of harpoons from the guns up front at the nearest ooze. The tops sink in easily, and men immediately start to wind winches next to the harpoon guns, trying to haul their target back towards the ship.
Charge, with haste and Inspire greatness. Single attack with 10' reach, and pull.

"Yep, oozes. I know a little about oozes, but can't say I've run into many of them. Best to be prepared."
As usual she casts shield from her ioun stone and activates judgment. This time she opts for more defensive abilities since she is not sure what to expect from these things. Unlike the mad ships, she is content, however, to wait for them to come to her and hods her position, on the nice firm ground. Besides, the wall of sound looks pretty nasty. And what's the point of putting up a wall like that if you are the one to run through it?

As the harmonics around the oozes starts up, the Seaward Gull seems to list hard to the left, and their is a low mournful wail. Suddenly, it seems like the entire ship is starting to melt. The mast starts to droop to the side and the rails collapse in on themselves. Sailors start dropping out of the rigging like flies, others falling to the deck where they stand, all of their bodies writhing on the suddenly undulating deck.

But the intrepid captain has had insane images in his head most of his life, and these new ones prove little more than a momentary distraction, as his attention turns back to his ship, under siege!
He instinctively moves closer, only to hit the strange harmonic aura himself... (Hamish, Fort: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23) ... though he fares much better than his ship.
"They ain't got no eyes." He reminds Arnaut as the later casts his spell. He scowls at the sudden turn of events, trying to decide whether to pull the ship out.

Pink Reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Green resists the orb for a second time, though Pink is not as fortunate.
Pink avoid getting trapped Reflex DC 21: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Rokgurn completes a quick census of his aqueous orb, finding its population to now total two (2) carnivorous crystals.
| Yours is mined |
Pink, orange and white continue to give off their subsonic HUMMMMM which impacts those within 60’ of them.
The Seaward Gull is immune to Orange only, so needs to make two (2) DC 22 Fort checks or be stunned for 1 round.
Omrax is immune to Pink + Orange but still susceptible to White, so needs to make one (1) DC 22 Fort check or be stunned for 1 round.
Hamish needs to make three (3) DC 22 Fort checks or be stunned for 1 round.
Which random square? North = 1, +ve = clockwise: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Blue is spat out of the aqueous orb 5’ to the south, where it contacts Arnaut’s sound wall again.
sonic damage: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (2, 6) + 14 = 22
Both gravesludges then move in on Omrax, attacking him with reach from 10 feet away.
ACs assume Omrax is not stunned. Can you please re-calculate if he is, Omrax?
Blue slam on Omrax + flank AC 35: 1d20 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 20 + 2 = 32
damage: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (4, 3) + 10 = 17
Blue slam on Omrax + flank AC 35: 1d20 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 20 + 2 = 29
damage: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (2, 6) + 10 = 18
Green slam on Omrax + flank AC 42: 1d20 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 20 + 2 = 28
damage: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (6, 1) + 10 = 17
Green slam on Omrax + flank AC 42: 1d20 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 20 + 2 = 30
damage: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 7) + 10 = 18
My bad, should have only been one attack each, because of movement.
Meanwhile, White steps up 5’ and attacks the Seaward Gull.
White slam on Seaward Gull: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 36 *crit threat*
damage: 7d8 + 9 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 2, 8, 1, 7) + 9 = 37
Confirm crit on Seaward Gull: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21
extra damage: 7d8 + 9 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 3, 1, 1, 5) + 9 = 27
On a hit Fort DC 22 or the Gull becomes entangled for rounds: 1d10 ⇒ 4

Hamish + Seaward Gull Hamish: Need 3 Fort saves or stunned for one round. Gull: Need 2 Fort saves or stunned for one round. And another Fort to avoid entanglement if the attack hit.
Omrax Need one Fort save or stunned for one round.

Marta - A.K.A. Telmar So-Melnop

Marta dashes through the wall and moves into a flank with the Paladin. She calls out a prayer to Ragathiel for a special anointment against oozes and proceeds to stick her spear into it.
Note: Her gloves are giving her unarmed attacks acid, not the spear. Not that it will matter against oozes.
Better check the crunch because I'm not sure all that applies.
To Hit Longspear: 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (16) + 32 = 48
Damage: 1d8 + 5d6 + 25 ⇒ (6) + (2, 4, 4, 5, 2) + 25 = 48 + precision: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
I think the silence spell negates the inspire greatness and any inpire courage too, at least for now, as it is indeed between her and her favorite bard.
Hamish Carmody O'Toole

GM, the 36 misses the Gull, even stunned. Its stunned AC is 38.
And Hamish made one of the Fort saves already (vs the white one), do I have to continue to save vs that one?
Hamish Fort vs pink harmonic: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Hamish Fort vs orange harmonic: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Hamish winces as the harmonics increase, Rokgurn's watery orb bringing them closer, as it rolls about.
"And I thought the siren's at Grole's Bluff was bad." He manages to say, as he pulls his hat down a little further over his ears. "At least those ones had pleasantly soft bits to make it worthwhile."
"Mr. Phips, get those men back on sails. You lot, man those winches." He starts calling out orders to the Gull, apparently ignoring the fact it appears to be melting like wax under a flame.
Gull Fort vs pink harmonic: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Gull Fort vs white harmonic: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Whatever he's saying though, seems to be working. Slowly, some of the tiny crew start to get back to their feet, others staggering across the deck to their posts. Even the masts and spars seem to straighten back out, as the ship seems to pull itself back into proper shape quickly.
"That's better. Now fire at that bloody thing!" He yells.
In response, the sound of miniature cannons firing echos through the room, leaving small puffs of smoke to rise from the sides. The men once more manage to take up arms, and re-engage the nearby ooze.
The sailors seem particularly motivated, the battle once more afoot!
Includes haste, inspire greaterness, inspire courage, and power attack.
Damage includes DR penalty and the sonic vulnerability for discordant voice, to save the GM some math
claw starboard cannons: 1d20 + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 ⇒ (20) + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 = 42, for 1d6 + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 = 15 damage plus 1d6 ⇒ 4*1.5=6 sonic damage.
claw port cannons: 1d20 + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 ⇒ (7) + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 = 29, for 1d6 + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 = 11 damage plus 1d6 ⇒ 5*1.5=7 sonic damage.
claw aft cannons: 1d20 + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 ⇒ (11) + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 = 33, for 1d6 + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 = 15 damage plus 1d6 ⇒ 4*1.5=6 sonic damage.
claw repel boarders!: 1d20 + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 ⇒ (18) + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 = 40, for 1d6 + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 = 10 damage plus 1d6 ⇒ 2*1.5=3 sonic damage.
bite chase cannons: 1d20 + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 ⇒ (9) + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 = 31, for 1d6 + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 = 12 damage plus 1d6 ⇒ 2*1.5=3 sonic damage.
hasted harpoons: 1d20 + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 ⇒ (7) + 19 + 1 + 2 + 3 - 3 = 29, for 1d6 + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 6 + 3 - 10 = 13 damage plus 1d6 ⇒ 5*1.5=7 sonic damage.
It will use its claw attacks first, then the two bites (one from haste)... if any of these manage to finish off the ooze, while there are attacks left, it will 5' step, towards the aqueous orb, and use the reach attack (and possibly the hasted attack, with reach) to shoot whatever is left at one of those jammed up inside it
Omrax the Bold
|
@GM I believe Omrax's charge damage doubled for lance would still have been 87 instead of 47 (bypassing all DR) on green...since he could not add crits and undead smite.
Omrax tries to resist being stunned yet again.
fort, greatness, inspired: 1d20 + 21 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 21 + 2 = 31
He is not stunned. His respective AC's were 2 less due to charging. But still both miss him...barely on the first.
He has the spectral wolf air-step back 5' as he full attacks with his lance, including the bard songs this time.
Oh Inheritor, finish these vile creatures!
Will call smite on the 2nd sludge if the first one drops...
+1 holy lance, PA, great, smite, bard, haste: 1d20 + 27 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 27 - 4 = 33

+1 holy lance, PA, great, smite, bard, haste: 1d20 + 17 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 17 - 4 = 25
for dmg, holy, PA, great, smite, bard: 1d8 + 2d6 + 12 + 2 + 17 + 3 ⇒ (4) + (2, 1) + 12 + 2 + 17 + 3 = 41
His entire career never had a crit with a lance, two more chances now and fighting immune skeleton oozes!!!! LOL
Also, if bardsong is indeed blocked by silence and does not bounce around it, then remove +3/+3 from all 4 attacks above.

The attack bonuses from Inspire Courage and Inspire Greatness do not stack, BTW.
Arnaut sniffs loudly. "I can tell when I'm not being appreciated," he announces loudly, while the world still has time to witness his artistic genius. "But really, Jackolous Nickels, would it kill you to sing something less grating on the ears? I haven't been in this much pain since I attended the premiere of some musical about a newly-ascended goddess dreaming about fey monarchs during the summer solstice." He snaps his fingers and begins to whistle a jaunty tune that somehow harmonizes with both Jack's performance noise and the subsonic hum of the crystals, taking the edge off of both.
Perform (sing): 1d20 + 43 ⇒ (11) + 43 = 54
No more Inspire Greatness, but everyone's already more than 30 ft away so that's NBD. Starting a Countersong performance instead, for those of us who haven't had the pleasure of saving against these crystalline oozes' hum yet.

With an invocation to the General of Vengeance, Marta pierces the bluesludge doing a good deal of damage. (Though precision damage does not apply to these oozes)
She also indicates her ♡ may be favoring one bard over the other …
Once more ship-shape and Bristol Cassomir-fashion, the Seaward Gull goes on the offensive, her massed broadside *BLOWING* the pale leviathan out of the water off Tar-Baphon’s table in a million glittering pieces, like Captain O’Toole and a shore party had just detonated a stained-glass window factory.
(Thank-you for including all the pluses and minuses, Hamish. Much appreciated!)
In the Inheritor’s Name, Omrax’s first two strikes put the bluesludge down. With a second call to smite the greensludge, his third blow connects, but not the fourth. Nevertheless, the Verdigris Mudpie of Death looks close to returning to the grave.
Arnaut continues his gracious and generous praise of Jack’s obvious talent … while working to neutralize the harsher tones produced by any man or beast present.

With enhanced speed, Jack moves through the gap he created in the wall of sound and then dismisses the silence.
♫I command that these things
Of which I speak
Will come to be
Behold the power of the night
Shine that we may see the light
Curse the filthy hypocrites
Crawl into their beds at night
Ooze from slimy depths below
Scream into their frozen brains
Behold the prince of darkness here♫
Doom Song, Plasmatics
Mindful of the gravesludges long tentacles, gripping his rapier in one hand and clutching his quicken metamagic rod in the other, he swiftly casts mirror image.
Images: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Inspire Courage: +3 competence bonus to attack/damage rolls; +3 morale bonus to saves vs charm/fear effects.
Discordant Voice: allies within 30 feet of you deal an extra 1d6 points of sonic damage with successful weapon attacks. This damage stacks with other energy damage a weapon might deal. Projectile weapons bestow this extra damage on their ammunition, but the extra damage is dealt only if the projectile hits a target within 30 feet of you.
Immediate action to cast Saving finale if Jack or someone else fails a save. Lingering performance maintains bardic goodies for 2 additional rounds.
