Amara went down the lava tube, right?
Diazepane will start down the (familiar) tube. At some point his darkvision should run out - he'll use his second extract. Before he gets to the end of the tunnel, he'll reup shield.
Castinus Fulvio
|
"Time to go, gentlemen - let's exercise some healthy social distancing between us and our assailants!" Castinus opens the secret door down into the lava tubes, and allows the others to pass through. Once the last is past him, he takes a last look over his shoulder, swings the door shut with a barely-audible 'click', and lopes off down the tube behind them. After passing a respectable distance in the darkness, sufficient that a shielded lantern would not betray the secret door with its light, he illuminates his surroundings and hurries after the others...
| Crowe Elberion |
Crowe punches the ground in frustration and breathes deeply ending rage before jogging back into the house.
When the message arrives, he quickly ducks into the lava tube, "Who are those people? More snakes?"

”Then I shall follow behind the Tengu and be ready if things come down to fisticuffs with any more individuals.” Grandblade marches with his great sword at the ready.

Grandblade- consider it done. 20 HP to you. 10 to Kal
Kal positions himself near the back of the group- hoping to cover the retreat of his allies. He holds his pole arm in one hand and the unconsumed extract in the other.
| EbonFist |
The fiery explosions and thunderous booms of lightning continue but grow steadily more muted until they are just a distant roar as the Pathfinders get further from the house.
The floor of the tunnel is rough and dry and is about 15' in diameter for most of it's length so it is easy for the group to make their way. There are no branching paths so it is equally easy for them to know where they're going.
After a couple minutes, they see a pair of conscript soldiers blocking their path. "St...stop right there!" one of them commands not very commandingly.
We're on slide 3. You can place yourselves anywhere on the map...such as it is.
| EbonFist |
They exchange looks as though uncertain about the answer. "None shall pass!" one of them declares.
"Right. No one can go past," the other chimes in.
Castinus Fulvio
|
Castinus lifts his lantern to get a good look at the faces of the pair of conscripts ahead. He smirks, and smiles at his companions "Easy meat"
Turning back to the conscripts he scowls "In this life your fate is rarely yours to choose - but today, gentlemen, you're in luck. You could be laying right here, butchered and bleeding out, in just a few minutes. Or, you could drop those weapons and run. I'm giving you that choice. What will it be?"

The two peasants share a very un-peasanty and knowing smile when Castinus and Diazepane begin their threats. The expression fades to actual dismay as the two Bloodragers get in on the act.
Their forms shimmer for a moment, then, in the place of two humans who hardly seem to know which ends of their weapons to swing stand a pair of fiendish golden skinned creatures complete with horns, fangs and bulging eyes.

"Argh! Mortal worms! Shimazi isn't paying me enough to deal with your impertinence! that creature says. He steps away from Ichio and then turns invisible. He could be anywhere! ANYWHERE!
The other one turns on Ichio and strikes. It is hard to miss the fact that the flesh that was made red and brittle by Diazepane's frost bomb is already looking much better. That doesn't mean he's accurate, though and he misses.

Diazepane's bomb bursts in midair, gives proof, in the tunnel, that the creature is still there.
It flashes into view for a moment, coated in frost then thuds to the ground, unconscious.
A sand-floored cave of igneous rock narrows to the north, offering access to a lava tube passage. Natural stone columns support a ceiling fifteen feet above, and the uneven walls irregularly bulge outward, creating small alcoves. To the south the cave rises in elevation, and the smell of seawater and a fresh breeze suggests the outside is close by.
As you come into the cave, you see a giant man in crimson armor standing over the unconscious form of Iko Tsuneo. Not far away are Amara Li and the two servants who came with you to the island, all unconscious or helpless.
Another of the men who did so much damage to the Pathfinders with their bombs stands not far away, watching with a smirk.
It is clear that they did not go down without a fight and perhaps a dozen men and women wearing the makeshift livery of the invading forces lay on the ground dead or dying, most with sword cuts.
"And now, old man, you'll pay for betraying me!" the supersized man says.
