My chance of succeeding in giving a gunner an extra action is pretty smaller. I have 6 ranks in piloting, and +2 from dex, so that is +8. the DC is 15+1.5*7, so 25 or 26. I'd need to roll at 18. None of my other relevant skills are substantially better, although the benefit of having shields double charged for a round would be nice. I'd be better off switching chairs and going to engineering to do this shields myself directly, as the DC is much lower for that.

Shields cannot be double charged I think. As far as I know, power can be diverted to a system only once per round so cannot Divert power to shields twice. However, a captain can give Arratoi orders, which would let Arratoi attempt to charge shields and patch the power core same round, although I don't think the power core is a huge challenge at the moment.

The plasma cannon blast the platform once more, and an explosion rocks it as the lights go out on the drones and they continue on their current trajectories.
Moments later Saivessa’s ship emerges from the Drift. You quickly bring them up to speed on what happened. They scan the disabled platform and report that several caches of Starfinder equipment are on board. "I'll secure those items and see what we can learn from the platform. We might be able to figure out where planetside the other equipment caches were sent. You folks start your descent."
As you make your way down to the planet, Saivessa sends you a set of coordinates. "I've located the drop location of one of the crates. There is a place you can land about a half mile away."
You land without incident. Stabrisis-14 is a lush, verdant world with a tropical climate, and low gravity. A brief trek through the jungle brings you to the drop site.
