Freen pops open the crate to inventory its contents.

As he does so a small device on the latch triggers, and a hologram of a white-furred ysoki woman appears above it. She grins in the direction the crate was opened, and says "Hello there, Starfinders! I see you’ve found my little present. I must say, I’m ever so grateful to the Society for providing me with all these fun weapons to bestow upon those poor species that haven’t developed modern technology yet. Perhaps I’ll have to make that more widely known... It would be a pity if the Starfinders didn’t get some recognition for their role in all this!"

“I hope I get to meet such clever folks one day! Perhaps we can share some food and laugh about all the fun we’ve been having.”

With that, the device self-destructs in a small burst of flame. A variety of weapons, armor, and other technological gadgets rest inside the crate.

As you begin to review the contents, Saivessa messages you: "Looks like you've got company coming. I'm reading modern weapons, so be careful. Don't hurt the natives if you can help it!"

Two groups are approaching you from opposite directions. While they look to be of the same race, the groups are dressed differently. The group to the north (upper right on the map) are dressed in green, with green paint smeared across their foreheads. The other group is similarly decked out, but all in purple.

As they spot each other, they start taking shots at one another, with you caught in the middle!

Are the items in the crate currently on fire? If still on fire, does it appears as though the items are potentially salvageable if the fire is put out?

Not on fire. The fire was small and limited to the hologram projector linked to the latch. That said, the scenario does not give any details of what is stored in the crate, so I assume you are just meant to see that nothing is missing and prepare them for pickup by Saivessa.

Sunshine sighs. "Nonlethal. Okay. Let's see what we can do." He claps his hands together and separates them into a rippling field of white magical energy, which coalesces into a glowing longarm with arcs of electricity running along its barrel.

Hearing the others confirm that the natives are communicating telepathically, Faraeon reaches out with his own limited telepathic abilities as he moves southward in order to get closer to the creatures in that direction. 'Stop, please. You're making a mistake,' he paths to the nearest creature, his mind imploring the native to cease fire.

As he moves, Faraeon draws his own static arc pistol, but he keeps the weapon lowered.

Lily zaps the creature nearest her,. It staggers as sparks dance across its body, before focusing on her.

As Kultainen approaches the other group, one them responds in an unknown language before shooting at her. It then turns to the others who begin circling closer to the crate and shooting at the other group of aliens. Not enough speech to get something from the translator yet, but it is a start

Faraeon receives a short telepathic response, but is unable to understand it.

@GM: for what it's worth, Lily has +2 saves vs Spells/SLAs, if someone tries to Mind Thrust her again. Her +2 vs Fear and her +2 vs Poison/Disease stack with that as well (say if someone cast a spell that inflicted poison or had the Fear descriptor).

Okay, so they have Resolve. Should we leave it alone and hope it flees with 1 HP, or hit it again? The fact that it just cast a mystic spell makes me worry...

Sunshine furrows his brow. "It looks like they're trying to kill each other too. Should we pick a side?" Without further intel, he follows Arratoi's orders and fires another magically juiced shot at the ysoki's chosen target.

Remember, in SF, non lethal is the same as lethal, but if you knock someone to zero, they are unconscious rather than dead, but it is not tracked separately like in PF

Warily, seeing the situation not resolving as she had hoped, Kultanien draws her corona pistol and survival knife, before approaching Orange.

"This doesn't have to end this way.." she says hopefully.

Faraeon steps back across the water, or just over it rather, and skirts the edge of the grasping vines to interpose himself between the oncoming group from the southwest and the crate. This had the added benefit of bringing him in range of the person Arratoi had pointed out. He ended his run with a forward roll into a kneeling position from which he could fire.

Nah. If I total defense I'd be harder to hit. If they can hit me it is preferable to them shooting at other people.

Freen's helmet turns toward Lily. Over comms crackles Freen's voice, "Lily..this species is making war with each other, with us in the middle. I think the best thing we can do is prevent them from getting more weapons and wait this skirmish out. Also, it wouldn't hurt to pick up the weapons once they are dropped."

Unfortunately, inspiring boost is sense dependent (and language dependent) so it doesn't work on dying, unconscious creatures who cannot hear the inspiring words...
