"Pai, if you would like to pass your dagger to our brave defeater of harmless doors, he might find it useful," Angoldir suggests as he taps the demon twice, once on each gunk-encrusted arm.

"I do not think cutting the bar into smaller pieces will be necessary. Even at its current length I a bit worried about keeping all of my fingers." the swordsman from Katapesh says solemnly. "Perhaps you could pass it to him since you are closer."
Oh, and to be clear he wasn't aiming at the cell door, but the bars beside them to allow people to move in and out of the cell easier.

"Well, hey, if you want my dagger you can use it. It's cold iron and all, but it'll be really itty bitty in your hands." Heheh. That'll look really funny. Like a little steak knife or something. *Super* intimidating!

"Our frail friend seems to think so, Pia, but I have no idea what for unless it is meant to render the food I am offering Yaiho easier to swallow, and digest, but I could simply break the trail rations up with one squeeze of my swordsman's hand."

"Dru, smack the witch and move back. I'll move in and smack her twice and step back after that. If we rotate in like that we can get more punches in."

Dru nods at Gruniak, and acts as instructed

Not that it will matter but, I forgot the bless so the above 'to hit' roll should be +1 for a total of 22. Still less than earlier misses.
"How can you think of eating at a time like this?"

GM Jhaeman |

The succubus' lithe reflexes enable her to dodge Drusilla's and Grunyak's attacks, making their blows look slow and clumsy. She then gives the dwarven cleric a wicked grin before attacking with her flaming blade followed by a swipe from sharp claws! "Your god is weak!" she cackles joyfully.
Grunyak, the flame blade hit you twice and you take a total of 17 points of fire damage.

GM, was that taking into account the entangled condition?
Also, Yaiho, don’t forget that you have a +4 bonus on your next attack.

![]() |

That’s to be expected - hard to avoid being touched in plate. But has her AC been lowered enough that some of those misses might have become hits?

GM Jhaeman |

I've scrolled back through since the adhesive spittle was used, and none of the attacks would have hit even applying the AC penalty from being entangled. This succubus has a very high AC! I'll go ahead and roll below to see how long the adhesive spittle lasts.
duration of adhesive spittle: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6

With the aid provided in distracting the demon-woman, Yaiho smashes down with his maul once again at his foe followed up by trying to bite her again. He strongly wishes to taste her blood drip from his mouth.

"Stiiiilllll can't see anything but butts. Oh! Hey, Abaal! Can you lift me up so I can see? I mean, that gargoyle didn't seem to react the first time I blasted it, but then later it did. So maybe she's the same way. Worth a shot, right?" Pai chatters brightly, as she knows that the others have the demon lady pinned back in that cell.
Once up high, able to see the demon lady's head, Pai lines up a shot. "Here goes nothing!"

"Of course little one." Abaal tosses the trail mix into easy reach of Yaiho.

"AAARRGGGHH! Still no! Okay, let me down. Do you want to use my dagger? Anyone?" If anyone happens to look at Pai, they'd see the frustrated boredom written all over her features.
"Thank you, but no. I have my own dagger." Abaal lets Pai down. "Drop" as a free action.
"Perhaps we should look around while we wait for our companions to finish bludgeoning the woman in the cell." He looks back at the cloud of flailing weapons and limbs.

![]() |

@Abaal, is your map location correct? Are you really located right behind Grunyak? I thought you were picking up Pai so she could blast the demon. I would like to step out after I attack to allow others to rotate in and attack.
"Fire swords, I should have figured." "Now, hold still and take your 'cold' medicine."
Grunyak will swing at the succubus and attempt to shift out.

Grunyak bumps into Abaal and must stay in the fray.
"Ahhuugh, you humans! We are tunnel fighting! Hit! Move! And Communicate! And especially don't block the retreat lanes! We are bottled like sardines now."
Grunyak 5' shifts to allow Drusilla access to the attack. "Hit her good for me, Lassie!" slipping into his dwarven accent.

![]() |

Yeah Grunyak, it is. Pai's icon hasn't moved in a while, but Abaal did step 5' closer, and into that spot assuming she would move after he had to get her better view. I would also assume that she is currently standing on the square marked "3" right now. I'll move him out of the way on his next turn.
Don't leave the front row on my count. I'm just the fighter who once took down a rampaging trent in two criticals after all. Very anti-climactic. It's a nice change sitting back, and hanging out with the um--what do you call them--Squishies? I simply do not spend enough time amid the squishies. ;)

"Pardon me." Abaal says, and bows gallantly. "Would you like Pai's knife?"

GM Jhaeman |

The succubus contains her assault on the dwarf cleric, singing him with yet another slash from her fiery blade. She looks bored though and gets a wicked gleam in her eye--something that doesn't bode well for any of you!
Grunyak, you take 6 points of damage.

![]() |

Abaal suggests we all delay until right before Angoldir goes to sort the initiative tracker out. ;)
"May I?" asks the gallant swordsman with a slight bow to the dwarf cleric.
Then, if he doesn't object, Abaal uses his time to lift Grunyak bodily out of the battle (whenever he wants; he can take his actions first or when he lands). He places Grunyak in the space to the right of the altar and steps into the place. To do this he probably has to sheath sword to get both of his hands around the dwarf (move equivalent action), hoist the dwarf (a second move equivalent action if Grunyak doesn't resist), and drop him in the adjacent square (free action), unsheath his sword (taken care of by the Quickdraw feat), and step 5-feet into the dwarf's old square (free action since he hasn't otherwise changed position this turn). It's a lot for 5-feet, I will admit.
If Grunyak doesn't go for this, Abaal might use his round constructively to consider the architectural beauty of the apse, chancel, and nave, and wonder at the beautiful acoustics of the structure.

"Hmmm... Maybe I have something in my bag that could help. Let's see... Huh. Acid flask? Invisibility potion? Sure, why not. Uhhhh... I can't get close enough to throw it, though. All I can see are butts again. Hey guys! I've got a potion of Invisibility and an acid flask if anyone wants to use them!" Pai holds up the flask and bottle so anyone can grab them if they think they could be useful.
Two move actions, retrieving two items.

Seems like a complicated plan, but it works in one player's set of actions. Most others take two. So, Grunyak, the sack of potatoes, reporting for duty.
"Is this some kind of new teleport magic, maybe in manual mode?" "Home Jeeves." "I didn't even have to click my heels together."
The dwarf tries to looks dignified as his is manhandled out of the front of the battle. But, with even a little analysis, one can tell he is deeply embarrassed.
Grunyak will go after being moved. He wants to cast spells without loosing them.

Abaal waits for the initiative order to at least look like this:
Initiative (Round 6)
Abaal
Angoldir
Grunyak
Drusilla
Avalexi
Yaiho
PaiBold may go!
Then takes his action so it looks like this:
Initiative (Round 6)
Abaal
Angoldir
Grunyak
Drusilla
Avalexi
Yaiho
PaiBold may go!
And is done. ;) (I moved the folks who needed it).
"Thank you." Abaal says to the dwarf with a bow, and brief touch upon the front edge of his keffiyeh.

Grumbling something, Grunyak fumbles at his belt for his holy symbol. Finding it he says, "Resist the element of fire in the name of Torag."
Reaching out, he touches Abaal. A glowing energy passes between the two.
"Now, send her packing."
Abaal, you have energy resistance 10 versus fire for 50 minutes.

The succubus grins widely before tracing an arcane pattern with her hands. She shouts in a ritualistic fashion "Oh mighty Shax, Blood Marquis and Lord of Murder and Lies, send forth an emissary to aid my unholy deed this day!"
In a flash of light, an emaciated figure suddenly appears at the rear of your formation--the creature looks like a horned human skeleton smothered within a bone-tight hide of slimy leather!
She casts defensively and her concentration bonus is high enough to automatically succeed on that (and vs the entanglement). This is a summon spell-like ability, and thus is a standard action instead of the usual casting time for a summoning spell.
Percentage (1-50 works): 1d100 ⇒ 5
