Looking to run PFS2 quests starting with #1 The Sandstone Secret and proceeding from there based on player interest. If interested, post which quests you'd be interested in playing. I'd anticipate ~2 weeks gameplay for most give or take.
GM Wayfinder |
Hello!
Nice idea to run the Quests as a series.
Thanks for offering this.
I have credit for The Sandstone Secret with all my characters, but none of the other quests.
So, if you ever have any room for new blood when you pursue after Sandstone, I would be very happy to join.
Whatever the case, have fun and roll high!

Go ahead and dot into Gameplay with your characters. Wayfinder, I'll reserve you a spot when we get to Quest 2 and beyond. I'll take 1 more for Sandstone Secret and will get things kicked off either tonight or tomorrow.
Please include your modifiers for Arcana, Nature, Occultism & Religion, if there are any you'd like to roll, in the Race line of your profile. Please also post the information below here.

Looks like we are just missing Anxa's character dotting into Gameplay. The map slides are posted here, and linked under my alias. I'll be posting the briefing momentarily.

Starting tomorrow around noon until Thursday around noon I will be with family. Bot as necessary.
No worries. We don't need to hit a specific pacing, and we've still got activity.

So by my count that's one failure and one critical failure on Aeinquel's Recalls. Not doing so well.
Yeah, I like to let people roll them whenever possible in person, so that I don't end up failing for them.
Aeinquel |
Makes sense.
That brings up something I've wondered about wrt Recall/Knowledge checks: do people generally try to keep track of what creatures they've encountered, and checks they've succeeded at? PbP provides a record, but I haven't done a lot of F2F gaming.
While I'm on the topic, in the section on Identifying Spells (p.305), it states:
If you notice a spell being cast, and you have prepared that spell or have it in your repertoire, you automatically know what the spell is, including the level to which it is heightened.
If you want to identify a spell but don’t have it prepared or in your repertoire, you must spend an action on your turn to attempt to identify it using Recall Knowledge.
So if a wizard has, e.g., magic missile prepared, and sees another spellcaster cast it, the wizard identifies it automatically. Say the wizard casts the spell on the same round. Does that rule mean that next round, when the enemy spellcaster fires off another magic missile, the wizard can no longer automatically identify it even though they did so a few seconds before?

With local gaming, I haven't seen record keeping of creatures encountered. At least from PFS1, it was assumed that you didn't remember things between adventures, unless you got a specific Con boon that allowed remembering a fact about creatures encountered.
I interpret that spell rule as, "If you have/had the ability to cast the spell today, you can identify it today." Sorcerers & bards can ID all spells they can cast. Prepared casters can ID the spells that they prepared for the day, whether they have cast them yet or not.

As a note for everyone , we've basically finished the first quest. I'll post a wrap-up of the rest of your tomb exploration sometime later today.

I think I'd like to switch in this PC for the next quest to replace Pell, if it isn't too much trouble.
Feel free to. There was the bit more of exploration that I had forgotten about that you did, but I should be able to get the actual venture captain debrief posted later today and work on chronicles tomorrow or Friday. I'm also going to reach out to GM Wayfinder who wanted to join on later quests. If others would like to switch characters, go ahead and post their info here. We'll try to get started with #2 by Friday/Saturday.
GM Wayfinder |
Thank you very much for thinking of, remembering me.
You are moving on to Quest #2: Unforgiving Fire?
I would be happy to join.
Let me update my character and post later on today, or tomorrow morning.
Ulfgar Ironhead |
Thanks for running! I'm definitely in for the next quest (and the rest.)
This was my first foray into 2E and I really enjoyed it.
Hopefully, no one was too annoyed by how taciturn Ulfgar is.
Aeinquel |
No worries on my part re Ulfgar's silence; I think we got some decent RP out of it, and it makes sense for someone who's generally off by themselves not to talk much.
Also up for the next quest, and I'll stick with Aeinquel.

"Greetings, all!"
GM Wayfinder's character who will be joining your fine group...
I will update my character sheet tomorrow.
Milord |
Personally, I like to get a Wayfinder with my first 2 Fame points (it is Tier 0, on the general non-faction boon list, in the PFS Guide).
To have an item RP representing the Society, and something to cast light with.
Thus retraining out of that cantrip and getting an "extra" one if am a caster (or simply having it if not a caster).
This of course for characters w/o Darkvision (I do not know if Aeinquel is a Cavern Elf).

@Ott: Hi, I just checked your skills to see if, statistically, I should've let you stealth & lockpick etc..
I only looked at Stealth & Thievery, and then Perception, not the others.
But, for Stealth & Thievery I thought that 18 Dex + Trained = +4 +3 (since that is lvl +2) = +7 (and not +9, which would be for Expert).
For Perception, would that not be +2 Wis +3 Trained = +5 not +7 (I think).
Since I have the same Dex' & trained & am a Halfling, and found +7 for myself, I wanted to know if you applied Expert vs. Trained and thus need to amend, or if I forgot something! (Sorry to be a bother, and hope I did not miscalculate all and am embarrassing myself).

There's a little bit of wrap-up yet, but we're pretty much done. I should be ready to move on to Quest #3 Grehunde's Gorget by Friday or Saturday. Let me know if you want to continue or switch characters.
Milord |
I have played Grehunde's Gorget.
So will pass for this next one.
If you ever have space later on, I would be happy to play.
But if your next group all wants to keep on playing after Grehunde's Gorget, I will not throw my hat in the ring.
Thanks a lot for the game!
And the fun and great comrades!
