Welcome to Skittershot.
I'll be pulling together materials over the next week. Still planning to start soon after Christmas. I will try to get the skittermander's descriptions posted here tonight. Meanwhile you can discuss the upcoming game and which roles you'd like to play. You can also dot in to the game play thread.
The Dire GM, who ran the game for me, created links to some good resoources.
I'll need the following information if you want SFS credit:
Player Name/Alias:
Organized Play # / Character # (that you want to apply this chronicle [b]sheet to - any level 1-2 SFS character is allowed)
What faction are you slotting for this adventure:
Do you have a promotional boon to slot for this adventure / what is it:
The Ragi |
I call dibbs on Gazigaz, the skittermander envoy.
For SFS credit:
Player Name/Alias: The Ragi

What faction are you slotting for this adventure: Acquisitives

What faction are you slotting for this adventure: Wayfinders

Nice to see everyone's checked in.
Per my original recruitment post -- I'll definitely have the game ready to play just after Christmas on the 27th or 28th. I can't promise anything, even though today is my last at work before Christmas, the holidays are a pretty hectic time, would everyone prefer to actually start as soon as I can finish prep? Could be Monday or Tuesday, but I'll definitely won't be posting on the 25th. I'll probably also have a day or two 'tween Christmas and New Years when I'll be visiting family and unable to post.
Meantime, I always like a little pre-game roleplay.

Sorry to dive in, just thought it'd be easier than dotting and disappearing! :)
Yeah, I'll be spotty over Christmas and New Year too.

Just in case... Starting tomorrow around noon until Thursday around noon I will be with family. Bot as necessary.
CrimsonDM |
Check that you can access my google doc page from the game from the link in my Crimson DM header.
I've put 4 icons for the skittermanders on slide 2. Feel free to replace those with one of your own choosing. Using your PC alias image might help continuity. That's all up to you.
Also, if you want SFS credit for the adventure, please let me know:
your name as given to SFS
The name of the SFS character you want the credit applied to
The SFS number of that character
Be cognizant that the credited character may not be played elsewhere for the duration of this game, and there is a risk of character death if your skittermander dies.
On that cheerful note let me welcome you again to the game.

A few words about myself might be in order. I've been playing and running Pathfinder games on the Paizo boards for many years now. This is only my second Starfinder game as GM. Therefore, if rules questions come up, please feel free to raise them.
Although I am rooting for all of you, within the confines of SFS, I feel honorbound to try to abide by the scenario as written, the rules as written, and the dice as rolled. Hopefully that can all be accomplished while everyone enjoys the game.
Speaking of enjoying the game, that is rule 0. I think half the fun of this scenario is adopting the skittermander attitude. Page 3 has 10 fun skittermander facts and four skittermander slang terms.
Quonx - Eijel |
I can see and update the google doc. In fact, I have updated the icon for Quonx.
your name as given to SFS: eijel
The name of the SFS character you want the credit applied to: Casey Cannon
The SFS number of that character: #279868-704
Nako!! |
Name as given to SFS: docchicago
Name of character for credit: Dr. Rosilia-14
Number of character for credit: 227485-703

Page three of where now? Did I miss a link? I'd like to give it a look.

It's the post right above the one you're quoting.

If we find a medkit, I can 'Treat Deadly' on the wounded... Sad my character doesn't have a kit.

This is more a trap/hazard than combat, but can I use Inspiring Boost on Nako?
It's the kind of thing that I'd wholeheartedly agree to at my own table. For SFS and trying a strict rules as written, I have to say it sounds more combat oriented as written. For now I'll disallow it. I will try to check the FAQ, but searching is not my strongest suit. If I find a positive ruling we'll retcon the action.
And thank you for the link. It was nice to be able to jump straight to the rule.

20 minutes of searching
https://paizo.com/community/forums/starfinder/rules
and
https://paizo.com/starfinder/faq
and
https://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1hh#v5748c3l3rcvl
revealed nothing of use in deciding the question.
However, I really respected my GM when I played Skittershot, and looking back through that game, Mike ruled that inspiring boost could be used immediately after someone took damage from the meteors.
So happy to find a reason to say yes.

So yesterday, a big truck ripped the internet cable off my house. I usually look forward to doing a little PbP when I'm sick, but all I could do is read. I finished The Non-born King (a little disappointing but it came so highly recommended that my expectations were probably too high.) and started Heartstone, a Matthew Shardlake mystery, which is pretty good so far.
And now, back to posting...
Gazigaz - The Ragi |
By the way, tiny creatures have to occupy the same square of their target, since they have no reach: Reach and Threatened Squares.
This also means my guarded step was pointless...

Back! Sorry for the delay, weekends are always bad for me and Monday jumped me.

Would the grappled prevention of two-handed actions even impact a skittermander with six arms? Asking for a friend.
The grappled condition states that "In addition, you can’t take actions that require two hands (or other limbs) to perform". It's not like the grappler is holding one of your arms, or half of your arms, he's just impeding you of doing anything complex that requires two hands.
In this case, Nako freed Quonx because the table required two of its arms to grapple.
If it was something like a snake grappling someone after a bite, I wouldn't let the character escape with a reverse grapple, though.
