I have a question. Where are the Jinsul from? Why don't we just build a death star and blow up their planet to end the war?

![]() |

"Wait wut?!? I'm at a loss.
"What actions did Iteration-177 recently take against us?
"Iteration-177 is a god like Dhurus? So why are you helping us instead of blowing us away? Does this mean you're turning against your boss Kadrical?
"Who are the other two heralds? Do we have to worry about them too?
"So confused...." Raatchet scratches his head.

GM Zoomba |

Not any actions against you Raatchet, but plenty of weird actions lately that had him showing up increasingly mysteriously in connection with the Scoured Stars.
Iteration-177 turns to the ysoki. "I am not a god. Nor is Dhurus, much as I fear that is his aim; merely a herald. One of four, though I could not say what came of the other two. I was empowered and sent out by Kadrical, my task as ordained by him was to find the mentrasi — one of the eight civilizations that long ago fled from the Scoured Stars — and take them back home. But when I reached them I found their civilization destroyed. Bereft of purpose, I decided to...explore the galaxy rather than return to Kadrical. Like the four as-of-yet undiscovered civilizations from the Scoured Stars, Kadrical imparted no information about the doings of my fellow heralds. I only know Dhurus thanks to the efforts of your Society.”
"But the centuries away from the Scoured Stars has given me time to see the wide galaxy. And time to reflect. When I received word of the Godshield arising during your society's first Scoured Stars mission, I realized Kadrical was stirring. Knowing that the overbearing deity would mean some trouble and an end to my rather enjoyable exploration of the galaxy, I did my best to stay aware of all activities around the Scoured Stars. I began to exert influence in helping the Starfinder Society so that Kadrical’s slumber would continue.”
As Huckle Jim's voices rises over then din, the android's eyes widen in shock. "What you speak of is genocide! The jinsul are from the Scoured Stars, just like the izalguun, many of the Kreiholm, and the mentrasi. But they have been led astray by my wayward...sibling of sorts. Dhurus always sought favor from Kadrical. I believe, with the veneration the jinsuls provide it now, Dhurus may believe itself superior to our guiding deity. As I said, Dhurus may, now that we’ve foiled its plans here, seek to usurp Kadrical themselves and siphon the sleeping god’s energies for its own malign purpose. Regrettably, Dhurus and the jinsul under him must be stopped by whatever means available.”

"Great, Dhurus is trying to make himself a god. Do we know how he plans on siphoning Kadrical's energies?"
Looking at Iteration-177, "what are the chances the Jinsul will back down if we stop Dhurus? Have they always been this aggressive towards other beings?"

GM Zoomba |

"I...do not know." Iteration-177 admits, looking down with a mildly pained expression. "I was formed from Kadrical's power, but He is still slumbering in the Scoured Stars. From all I have learned, if Dhurus intends to usurp Kadrical's power, he would need to do so there."
Luwazi chimes in an aside to T'Kai herself. Some of our agents, Quirk among them she eyes the other shirren and gives a nod Have encountered jinsul who aren't exactly on board with Dhurus' plan. I'm not going to say they're necessarily a peaceful culture on the best of days, but they were living on their own in relative isolation for centuries until Dhurus took their culture's reins.
Jadnura strides across the room and gazes out a window at the immense fleet composed outside. We have dne well so far, but there still lies one last step to deal with Dhurus and his threat. Soon we will need to return to the Scoured Stars, soon...

GM Quirk |

While nursing his wounds and his battered body, Quirk gives a nod toward Luwazi after the acknowledgement.
I think this is the first time Quirk has ever been down. In fairness, about half, possibly a bit more, of his chronicles were from GM credit, but that was still an alarming end. I was really concerned we were looking at a TPK!

GM Zoomba |

As I said, it is a potentially quite dangerous fight. Luckily, you managed to pull through in the end!
Several of the alien delegates and Venture officers move forwards to surround Iteraiton-177 and continue asking him questions. As the android is swallowed up by the crowd, Luwazi Elsebo moves towards you five.
Jadnura is right. I do not think we can be at rest until this Dhurus is confronted once and for all. She looks off, lost in thought. The first time the Society ventured into the Scoured Stars, it led to one of our darkest hours. As much as we've recovered, a part of me hoped we would never need to touch the place again. The nominated First Seeker looks each of you straight in the eyes. But hopes do not always work out. We are going to need to return to the Scoured Stars, one last time. I understand after your brutal struggles today you may wish to take a ship home, for recuperation. But we are launching out soon, and as many allies and planning as we have I would still hope you may be able to join us in the coming fight.
And that 'coming fight' is 2-00 Fate of the Scoured God. A very fun, and partially replayable, multitable special I'd highly recommend if you have a chance. But for now, rest Starfinders. You're mission today has been accomplished with flying colors!
