Aru Wandering-Hand |
Still invisible, Aru pictures something horrible in his mind while focusing on his magical ring. He thinks of suffering and blood. Nasty feelings cause a chill down his spine, not because what he was about to do was wrong, but just because even visualizing it in his head was troublesome.
By the Grey Maiden, an emaciated figure that resembles a horned human skeleton smothered within a bone-tight hide of slimy and bloody leather. A longspear in its hands and the carcass of a dead goat on its shoulder.
Just a reminder of Aru's last words before going invisible at the beginning of combat:
"As we go in, and this is important, remember that goats, while creepy, aren't evil. Some might even help us."
The Babau has see invisibility. If Bahor is within sight, he'll communicate where he is telepathically in draconic to Aru and the others, then try to dispel the greater invisibility.

The Gray Maiden tenses as threats are made, her grip tightening around her longsword. The names he listed, the leverage he believed he held, likely cut deep into her allies, but her resolve held strong. Kaliyah stirred within, but the Gray Maiden remained focused.
When Glorio reappears, she moves swiftly toward his new position, placing herself opposite of Marcus and next to Vencarlo. "You may vanish, but we will always find you. You may not lay a hand on them!" she says coldly as she steps forward and swings her blade.

She lashes out with her blade, piercing the flesh of the marai as it seems to almost sizzle as the holy weapon damages it.
The marai cries out and collapses to the ground. Vimanda frowns, looking down, and then looks up and points her blade towards the last Marai, saying in Infernal
Sibling Rivalry - Round 3 Bahor/TGM/Marcus/Aru/Marai/Yazi/Vimanda/Magda/Others
Yazi and Magda are up.

Yaziyah "Speaks For The Dead" |
Yaziyah would have liked to flank that last marai, but the damned water ball was in the way. Instead, she steps to the side and grasps her hammer at the base of the shaft, taking advantage of its length to strike him from a distance.

GM Litejedi |
Evil eye: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23 He shakes off the worst of the evil eye, but the effect still takes place and is extended by one chant..
Marcus can't hit at all, as it looks like the rakshasa is immune to flanking attacks. Made a mistake before, shouldn't have flanked with TGM either.
Yazi wounds One-Eyed Carnochan pretty badly, and Vencarlo and Neolandus get outside, around a corner, and it seems likely that they'll be able to escape at a bare minimum.
Bahor is no fool, and sees some of the writing on the wall, but his back is against it. He uses eerie disappearance, provoking from Marcus and TGM.

Perception Yazi: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
intimidate: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (7) + 27 = 34
With an intimidate of 34, I think Yazi, TGM, and M are shaken for 34 vs 20, 20, 18 = 3 rounds for TGM and Marcus and 4 rounds for Yaziyah. Note, per eerie disapperance, nobody knows where he's gone.
falchion, haste: 1d20 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 18 + 1 = 38

TGM manages to hit him, but his damage reduction is overwhelmingly powerful. Where the powerful Rakshasa has gone is unclear, as he manages with a feint to disappear - though it's clear he didn't use magic to do so. The ability is so effective, it seems to shake some in the party to their core.Note that if Mags can't get within 30' of him before chanting again, the new evil eye will expire next round.
Sibling Rivalry - Round 4 Bahor/TGM/Marcus/Aru/Marai/Yazi/Vimanda/Magda/Others
TGM/Marcus/Aru are up.
Marcus the Dog |

Marcus takes a swing but the monster is incredibly difficult to strike.
Really have nothing to do unless we locate him at which point Marcus will just close the gap and continue attacking.
Gray Maiden |
TGM has Unshakable +9 which is added to the DC of intimidate checks against her.
She knows she has to hit harder than last time to get through, so she redoubles her efforts to swing with more power. She succeeds, but mostly at hitting the ground harder as her aim suffers terribly.

Aru Wandering-Hand |
Aru flies by Vera and whispers to her. "Could you hide for a moment?"
He then checks his tracker on Bahor and ascertains he is still in the garden. This isn't going well, but in truth he did not expect this whole thing to be trivial. Quite the opposite.
Having observed Vera using her space altering magic, Aru duplicates it for a moment, and in the middle of the garden a fake dimension door opens and an angry version of Vera steps through it, looking around for Bahor.
Don't know what to do to help, so trying a trick. Using a focus point for Minor Figment, creating an illusory version of Vera out in the open. This works like minor image. DC 21 to disbelief if someone interacts with it. I can also set a condition for it to change, so I'll go ahead and cause her to gasp, point at Bahor and give a minor frightened screech with the condition of him showing up.
GM Litejedi |
TGM is only shaken for 1 round I think.
Carnochan steps up to Yazi to try to knock at least her out, and hits with his snake arms.

Sibling Rivalry - Round 4Bahor/TGM/Marcus/Aru/Marai/Yazi/Vimanda/Magda/Others
Yazi/Magda are up.
Magda "Magpie" Vasiliu |
Mags moves forward to where the hand guy is pointing, keeping her layers of chant up as she does.
move to move, move to chant
Yaziyah "Speaks For The Dead" |
Yaziyah had been so focused on fighting the marai and protecting the retreating vencarlo and Neolandus that she hadn't noticed that Glorio had disappeared. Badly wounded, she quickly weighs the options - they could all try to get out of there and let Vimanda deal with her borther. But if she failed, Glorio would certainly hunt them down - and everyone close to them, as he had threatened. No, they had to finish this. Finish him.
Stepping around the watery orb, she calls upon the fiery spirits of the Cinderlands, entreating with them to cut off the rakshasa's escape.
Cast Wall of Fire along the southern edge of the garden to block off access to the doors leading into the mansion.
Damage within 10 feet, fire: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3

Magda "Magpie" Vasiliu |
WALL OF FIRE! Wonderful choice Yazi!
GM Litejedi |
SR: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
The cinderlands have come to Korvosa.
Theres a vague yelp of pain in the southern part of the greenhouse. The yelp is indignant, and angry. A voice calls out in infernal
Vimanda scoffs, muttering to the party ”as if this affair is not his doing entirely.” She clears her throat, ”scheming, trying to hoard secrets - you do not think they understand the tongue of the राक्षस? This was your problem - you think everyone is stupider than you - and yet, here you are cowering on our garden.” She flexes her muscles and looks like she’s ready to pounce should he appear, and nods silently, her expressive fox eyes narrowing as if to say, I can goad him.
There’s a vile, unspeakable curse - even in another language it is obviously evocative of something unthinkable. Vimanda continues, ”we are coming for you - the girl first. The one who loves the Vudran. Consider how brave she is - compared to you.” “Vera” shivers and she looks resolute but frightened, as if she’s steeling herself. She’s holding up her hands as if readying a spell.
1d20 + 23 ⇒ (17) + 23 = 40
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35
Hah, oh dang.
Vimanda finishes, ”Consider: how many cycles have you had, brother, and you call them cattle? They have accomplished more in one year than any of our schemes. Your ego has blinded you to the truth - the cattle, as you say, bested you.” She clenches the holy weapon, and though the process is obviously painful she masks it well; her discipline is tremendous.
1d20 + 21 ⇒ (13) + 21 = 34
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
1d20 + 30 - 5 ⇒ (20) + 30 - 5 = 45
Where Bahor has gone is unknown, but Aru knows instinctively that the illusion’s effectiveness is gone. Did you know you can use spring attack with stealth? I didn’t know until I found the rules on it. Loads of fun!
Sibling Rivalry - Round 5 Bahor/TGM/Marcus/Aru/Yazi/Vimanda/Magda/Others
Everyone is up. Don't forget that some abilities will run out before too long.
Marcus the Dog |
Overrun: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (2) + 24 = 26
Marcus attempts to shove through some of the hidden spots of the courtyard to blindly find Bahor.
GM Litejedi |
1d100 ⇒ 22
1d100 ⇒ 95
1d100 ⇒ 32
Marcus scoots around the corner and rushes through some of the southern bushes and around the fountain. The enemy doesn't seem to be there. Some of the bushes very close to the wall of fire have started burning.
So he's using stealth not with cover south of the marble elephant or south of the fountain, and not in the burning bushes (probably) and not west of the fountain because I'll assume Marcus can see west of the fountain too. So unless he missed with concealment (which he doesn't know), the enemy is in some of the northern bushes.
Aru Wandering-Hand |
Aru smiles as his plan to waste Bahor's turn with the illusionary version of Vera indeed works. He then flies across the garden and once more focus on finding him.
Nothing else to do but to focus on Locate Object.
Meanwhile, the babau with the goat on his back moves towards a bush and then tries to destroy another one.
Yaziyah "Speaks For The Dead" |
Yaziyah strides towards where she had the yelp, sweeping her hammer through the bushes.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Magda "Magpie" Vasiliu |
With Yazi providing wonderful inspiration, Mags asks for her city's help to contain the shadow cat man. A wall of fire forms next to Yazi's, corner to corner.
she also chants to maintain her evil eyes and protective for those within the range
GM Litejedi |

Some of the trees start burning but there’s no yelp of surprise. In fact, Magda somehow realizes intuitively that the spell tried to penetrate something’s spell resistance - but failed.
Just the Gray Maiden now. Keep in mind it’s 1d4 damage per round within 20 feet of the fire on either side.
Gray Maiden |
The Gray Maiden stands tall, her longsword raised high, scanning the surroundings for the coward. She pivots in place and in a commanding voice resonating with authority, she calls out "BAHOR AKONA! Your cowardice betrays you! You claim to be untouchable, yet here you are, hiding like a rat in the shadows. Show yourself and face justice!"

Vera comes to the door as well, and raises her hand, nodding at the others quietly, it looks like she's getting ready for something.
Vimanda fixes Magda and Vera with a steely gaze, "I will not let any harm come to you both if it is in my power, you have my word." And then turns back to watch the courtyard as she steps into the room and raises her blade, as if to deflect any attack that might be directed to Vera or Magda.

Bahor rushes towards Yaziyah, snarling, "your community center was always stupid; the shoanti were better as slaves!"
He slashes at Yazi, badly injuring her, and flits away, trying to hide in a nearby bush. Like lightning, Vera releases her spell. A flash of light happens, and he's covered in multicolored glitter. The rakshasa curses in infernal, visible - with nowhere to run. Map updated

As soon as he appears, Mags sends her city's ire his way again.

The Gray Maiden is covered in glitter, but shakes off the effect. Bahor, on the other hand, is blinded. He claws at his face as he tries to get it off of him.
Vimanda stands near the exit uncertainly, until she finally says, "Please, end it." She remains in a protective posture, ready to intercede should he try to approach.
Bahor roars at the indignity of being blasted again, and settles his nerves. Knowing his home as well as anything, he moves to flee, performing incredible cartwheels and flips that completely flummox the party. Withdraw means his first square doesn't count, so no AOO or rolling for Yazi or Marcus.
