Bump!

Bump back

when does this close? i'm mostly done with the crunch but all the way done with fluff.

Well, It would close...*looks at calender* well I'll say This Friday- about the 20th~

That sounds like an excellent submission deadline. I am still planning on submitting a character, but Borderlands 3 has left me quite distracted. ;)

The Exchange

I think I'm mostly done with Anhur

He saw that those schools of magic where unessisary and took them out. Why? Because they had no place in an RPG that was originally ment to be a Fantasy Life simulator.

Todd is not at the top of my list of great game producers of all time, he could learn a lot from CD Projeckt Red as well as others for that matter ... LOL (The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077). Bethesda, along with Todd, does things well in some categories but not all and definitely not role playing. All I have to say is he better not screw up FO5 or I am throwing in the towel for Bethesda made games or unless they fire him. I know some people idolize the man but I surely don't.

/Todd rant off

Other than that, Dotting interest ... LOL

Almost done, how long ago where the Argonians released by the Dunmer in our setting?

Anderlorn wrote:

I don't think the DM has mentioned a year at which we will start. That said, 4e 201 is when Skyrim happens, and he mentions events of Skyrim having happened.

Slavery never ended, technically, in Morrowind. It was allowed under the treaty of the Armistice that left Morrowind a semi-self-governing state under Imperial Rule.

in 4e 6 Argonians invaded Morrowind, the year prior to that being when much of Morrowind was destroyed by a meteor that was being held at bay by Vivec.

Slavery never did end to my knowledge though. But we see 195 years between when Argonians invaded a presumably-decimated Morrowind (likely over issues erupting from having been enslaved/racial enmity) and the beginning of Skyrim's events.

EDIT: so when the meteor hit Morrowind and caused the Red Year when the Red Mountain erupted, many of the Dunmer fled to Skyrim which is why we see them treated so poorly there as the Nords resent them invading a country they already see threatened by the Imperial Cult and the Thalmor. Morrowind becomes even less hospitable than it was before, coupled with Argonians coming in and kicking the Dunmer while they are down and establishing a foothold there from Black Marsh across the bay. I believe it was either hinted at or assumed that something rough had gone down in Black Marsh which got the Argonians staying in the inhospitable Morrowind rather than going there, killing a bunch of dunmer, and leaving. But we rarely get good detail about Black Marsh or Elsewyr because no one at Bethesda seems to care about beast races.

EDIT 2: there are varying reports on Argonian lifespan, some saying they live as long as men (a lazy answer by devs) and some saying they could live up to 500s (something i find a little more believable given their immunity to disease and near-immunity to drowning, which are two big ways to die in middle-ages-fantasy). This is relevant as it puts the raid on Morrowind anywhere from seven generations ago on down to the older yet still active members of the Argonian race remembering it happening in their lifetime.

Thank you Tenro the Scholar of Tamriel! ... lol .. :-)

EDIT: I am going for 500 years old and 11 years starting unless the mature age is older than an year for Argonians. This gives him 10 years to bring current his skills and abilities to their current status. Just like martial arts, real training and perfection doesn't begin until one reaches black belt level.

edited it just a minute ago to add to the last point for terms of RP, but we will need a ruling on the DM for that part. Yeah i like Elder Scrolls a lot, but what is also convenient for games like this (for the DM) is that the world has its own internal way of addressing inconsistencies (the Elder Scrolls themselves) meaning the DM can depart from known canon

Dragon Break

Dragon Breaks, Elder Scrolls and Time Wounds, oh my!

Dragon breaks are a great lore addition. It explains how the hero of kvatch, for example, can be part of the dark brotherhood and be in charge of the mage’s guild and be the champion of the arena and the...you get the idea.

*Wakes up from thw dead* OOF! ahh, yeah

Seeing all the big things happening this month(Borderlands 3, The recent releases of PF 2e, Ect.), We do seem to be getting only a few applications, Which I don't mind- I might just accept you all and see which of you I'm left with when the dust settles

*Goes and reads about dragon breaks*

Ah, so they introduced that when they made all 8 of the endings of daggerfall cannon :P and so it could be assumed then that the events of each game (save for arena) are based in dragon breaks.

So the hero of Kavatch is also the leader of every guild and the owner of a house in every town, and also a psychopath who killed whole cities and piled the bodies up so that they could climb them to get on top of the walls in the imperial city...
*Cough* my Oblivion games where wierd ;P

And yes- This is being based approximately 202~ 4e year wize. As I want you to br dealing mostly with the Aldamerian Dominion responding to Skyrim declaring its Independence and finding out the hard way that the Imperials where keeping the real a+#%*$@s out of Skyrim...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Its also implied that the Hist trees where calling the Argonians back to the black Marsh, Where they where becoming bigger and stronger for some unknown reason(Probably the Hist's doing.

It is implied the Hist might have been aware that dragons where returning and had decided to prepare for the events, It's also possible the Hist decided to attack the dark elves and free what slaves they could while the dunmmer where Havi their issues..
Man I feel bad for the dark elves... At least until they start calling me names and treating me like s&!* because I'm an outlander

Nothing wrong with having a campaign with fewer players. So long as we post, it’ll work out. Could even cut it in half and say 3 players with gestalt. Not as strong as a 6 man party due to action economy, but close enough that it would likely still work out.

True

Will day that if we do decide to go 3 man gestalt, this orc will be a Blacksmith/Incanter. Focus on restoration and alteration via spells and enchantment via Feats. With her idea being that fixing armor and fixing people is the same basic sphere. So no fireballs or the like, and nothing flashy. Rather very practical healing the like, which I think would suit her personality best.

The Exchange

Haha. Looks like you've put a little thought into this.
Gestalt is considered 1.5x so 3 gestalt would be about 4.5 equivalent.

Yeah if we do gestalt I will put something on probably conscript that will give me some sneak attack and some other assassin-type things to symbolize his having been conscripted from birth to be a Shadowscale and make him more suitable for the story I've crafted for him.

@Anyone, I see speculations for Hist Trees in Skyrim but no real absolute answers so are there Hist Trees in Skyrim or are the Argonians in Skyrim detached from the Hist? Also, I see inconsistencies in that Argonians need to drink the sap from the Hist Tree. And then others, where baby Argonians receive Hist Sap Properties from their mother or eggs. I don't mind making new things up but I hate to be excluded because I did.

Best I could find:
https://www.eso-rp.com/forum/m/9324623/viewthread/32003898-argonians-outsid e-marsh/page/1

“There is a Hist in Stonefalls behind Ebonheart but the Argonians there mention that it does not flourish because it is outside of BM. Also in TES IV the Blackwood Company has a Hist in their basement which they use for sap”

Yeah some other areas can have hist trees and the hist will also change itself to a certain extent to try to exist elsewhere. For instance they take several to morrowind during their assault there.

There is also a game precedent for an Argonian born separate from the hist to get a personality and gender, but then when he returns to black marsh he misses social cues from other Armenians so he isnt quite fully connected.

The hist are then shown to be a sort of conduit for a network of racial memories as well by virtue of souls returning to the nearest hist upon death

My submission is ready but my background might change as I find new TES material.

If I still have until Friday, I’d like to throw something together. If not I totally understand. I’m not near as much of an elder scrolls expert as you all seem to be, but I’m willing to learn.

im not an expert we just happened to be talking about the events i know about because i like the areas and races in question. DM hasnt said anything about changing the deadline so you might as well put something together.

History (That which hath come before):

Azeera is now a trained warrior magus, skilled with swords and able to summon armaments to attack and defend; She was not, however, always so fortunate in life.

She began life as a slave; more specifically, she began life as one of the slaves of Manimarco; just one of a legion of slaves who he experimented on in order to gain talented and mind-controlled soldiers to bolster the ranks of the undead.

What no one could have counted on, however, was that her magical abilties would awaken.

You see, Azeera has extensive talent for the summon weapon and summon armor power; She posessed the nascient powers of a Armorist. She used this power to escape her meager cell and lead an escape of the slaves. She was only seven at the time.

For his part, Manimarco was disappointed, but quickly turned his attention to other pursuits.

Hazij, the Khajit who ran the prison camp, however, was not so accomedating, however; he swore to recapture all of the slaves and continue the experiments.

What started as a blind flight quickly became a forced march across the hellish landscape of Morrowind. As time went on, more and more people fell by the wayside, lost to animal attacks, starvation, thirst, or even the desire to go their own way.

So it was that the warrior came across the band of stragglers who followed Azeera.

As he came into view, Azeera stopped, stood up straight, levelled her blade at him and, after examining him for a moment for markings as a servant of the dread necromancer, said in a clear voice "You must care for these people." before collapsing. The man's eyes widened as she fell when her sword and shield shimmered out of existance.

Azeera slept for more than a week, nearing dying multiple times due to several infected wounds, as well as several types of poison that were coursing through her veins.

When she finally awoke, she was in what had once been a command tent. She was bandaged and laying on a cot, but she was uninjured. Whe she could finally find the strength to sit up, she found a full waterskin next to her cot, which she drank from eagerly. It was clean water, which she drank greedily. Satiated, she rose and made her way out of the tent, where the man she had met on the horse sat roasting a hog over an open fire. He turned at her approach, nodded as if in approval, then pointed at the rock which sat opposite his. She sat, and he handed her a plate of food, which she devoured. Having finally eaten, she asked about her friends, the ones she had escaped with. It quickly became apparent, however, that the man could not speak.

He scratched something into the ground: wierd markings she had never seen before. It was clear, however, that he was attempting to communicate with her. Eventually, however, she managed to get out of the man that those she had cared for had been turned over to the temple of Stendarr for help.

The next morning, the man began to pack up his camp and load it onto his pack horse. Azeera awoke during this process, and began helping. The man smiled, but said nothing. He did, however, show her how to pack a tent.

So began the several year long process of her training: the man would do something, she would make the decision to try it herself, and he would correct her training. He taught her to read and write, how to use a blade, how to wear armor, and a great many other things. As he was also a praticioner of the magic she used, he taught her to form and refine her talents.

Eventually, as is the way of things, the man passed from the mortal world. With a great many tears, she buried the man under a pile of rocks and made her way towards the imperial capital in Cyrodil.

At the front gates of the capital, she was promptly arrested, as Hajiz had not been idle. Instead, he had made his way to the capital and began spreading rumors and managed to get arrest warrants lain for each of the escaped slaves, including Azeera.

His ire fell on Azeera most of all, however, and he had her brought up on charges of murder and Daedra worship.

Now it is that Azeera, a young Redguard, sits languishing in a prison cell in Cyrodil.

As she was wearing her mentor's weapons and armor when she was captured, none of the normal precautions taken with a spellcaster were taken with her, and as she has not used her spellcasting, none here seem to know of her abilties.

Appearance:

Azeera is a tall Redguard teenager who stands nearly 6' tall with the broad shoulders and musculature common to her people. Even in her current state, she has an air of defiant nobility about her.

She has dark hair, Sea-Green eyes, and a scar that bisects her right eye, where a practice swing from her mentor nearly took her eye when she was half a step too slow in dodging. Her black hair is kept in the traditional soldier shorn hair, with only an even line of stubble remaining atop her head think a high-and-tight.

She is currently wearing a simple tunic and breeches and lacks shorts.

Armorist has the ability to summon weapons (and eventually) armor, and then enhance said armor.

Just a quick pokey poke. Tee Hee!

Hmmm

Grand Lodge

I've been interested in the Sphere's books for a while, is there still room for one? And if there is, what does it look like the party needs as far as classes go?

In theory the GM closed submissions on Friday, but we haven’t heard anything from Klan since last Monday.

so almost two weeks without a response from the GM. If we don't hear back from him by Monday I am going to withdraw my submission.

Okay, I am going to withdraw from the game. Good luck guys!

Yup, too bad. Hope the gm is ok.

At least making the build was fun. Happy gaming everyone.
