When Daathiel says "Jump!", Flora's body instinctively jerks in response. But her attacker's arms adjust with supernatural speed to keep her held tight. From her uncomfortably-close vantage point, the halfling sees the hobgoblin barely flinch as Jeras's knife cuts into his shoulder.
Yeah, this guy has a stupid-high CMD that he's boosting even higher with shenanigans. Also, @Jeras, first blood means a Performance check!

While Flora makes herself harder to hold onto, Gomwai's companions rush after their leader. One manages to slip past the reach of Mal's long arms, but the other two both steel themselves for retaliation as they form a line next to the hobgoblin.

Fortunately, the insight bonus didn't make a difference in Jeras hitting Yellow's AC. Unfortunately, Jeras would have to be directly across from Mal to be flanking Yellow, which means he would need to take a 5 ft step "down" at the start of his turn. This is unfortunate because the 4th attack took out Yellow, but Jeras can't take another 5 ft step to get another target within reach for the haste attack.
But that does mean that Jeras can make a Performance Check for downing an opponent!

Hah! Not going to bother totaling all that up, but let's just say that only one of those attacks missed.
As the last of Gomwai's warriors fall to the arena floor in a bloody heap, the Grand Pavilion erupts in a cacophony of cheers and exploding firecrackers. Jeras's dagger also cuts into the woman, but he doesn't draw as much blood as he would expect as the blade skitters off to the side of her displaced form. Flora takes aim at the other woman, but has to lean a bit too far to not hit Daathiel as he steps into her line of fire - and for perhaps for the first time in the entire tournament, the wooden spear crashes into the barrier protecting the audience!
Jeras unfortunately can't get sneak attack against a target with total concealment. And Flora only missed because of cover.

@Mal - From your prone position, you had an excellent view of the woman in red descending into the ground. And the flying woman does not seem shaken in the slightest by your, uh, "swordplay".
Added Flora's damage into the tracker - nice work, Daathiel!
The Twin's Revenge!

Active Area Effects:
- Crowd Status: Helpful

What do you do?
Daathiel

It has been very much table variation in my experience. If that is your ruling then Daathiel will draw and use the wand where he was. Moved him back.

Perfect! Thanks Flora! Daathiel, I didn't see where you had your token previously, so go ahead and move it back into place.

Does that cyclone block sight to the blue woman?

Does that cyclone block sight to the blue woman?
No, just blurs the air slightly. It's a DC 15 Perception check to notice, but that's not really a problem for this party.

@Jeras, you can still hit and do damage, or Disarm/Sunder that potion that the spellcaster has taken out, or ready to disrupt a spell.
I will try to Dispel the Displacement when I can, but if she is capable of casting Forcecage, that is unlikely.
Even your base damage will add up on a primary caster.

I have that CL 14 wand of dispel magic if you want to try and use that.
Jeras van Hidden

I thought I couldn't fly in a cyclone.
Jeras flies into the cyclone and tries to remove the poition from the woman's hand.
cmb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Flora Mossgreen
|
Mal, are you OK with having to save against a fear effect? I think you'd only fail on a natural 1. I want to see if I can't split up the casters, but I don't think there is anywhere I can go in a single move (70 feet) that will put me in a position where I can target blue but not either you or Jeras in a 30 foot cone.
Flora Mossgreen

Flora moves ahead pulling out a wand from her belt as she goes. She levels it at the woman in blue and a wave of fear washes over her and Mal.
DC 16 Will save or panicked for 7 rounds. Shaken for 1 round on a successful save.

I thought I couldn't fly in a cyclone.
Well, it's not that you can't, but...
Jeras Fly: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 2 = 14
Jeras floats forward into the wall of wind, which buffets and knocks him around. The elf can't stay airborne in the storm and plummets to the ground like Mal! Above him, the woman's mocking laughter echoes through the arena.
Falling damage: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 4) = 11
@Jeras - that was either a move action or a 5 ft step, so you still have at least a standard (and maybe a move) left this round.
@Flora - you can tell that with the woman's current height (35 ft above ground), you'd have to be literally directly underneath her to barely reach her with the 30 ft cone from the wand. As you'd be able to see that from your starting position, would you like to change any actions this round? My apologies for the confusion.

Round 5! Bold may act!

Blue (-42, 35 ft above ground)
Mal (-10, Grounded 1/??)
Jeras (-11, Prone) (Standard, possibly Move left)
Daathiel (20 ft above ground)
Flora (-97 nonlethal, Greasy) (includes burn)
Active Area Effects:
- Crowd Status: Helpful
- Naturalist +3 (human)
- Haste (5/12)
- Cyclone requires Fly check to pass through safely in air

Jeras van Hidden

"I told you guys I am useless here!"
Jeras crawls out of the cyclon and stands up.
I will use haste-move action to crawl and then move to stand up
Flora Mossgreen
|
Flora will try to hit her with one of her wooden blasts.
Wood Blast: 1d20 + 18 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 18 + 1 + 3 = 28 Damage: 5d6 + 18 ⇒ (6, 3, 6, 1, 5) + 18 = 39
| GM Hawthwile |
Jeras stands up carefully only to have to duck suddenly as Flora's spear comes tumbling out of the cyclone and whizzes past his head. Above the arena, the woman's mocking laughter continues. "For all your supposed prowess, you're full of nothing but hot air!" she taunts. "Here, have some more!" She makes a stirring motion with one hand and tosses a handful of sand into the cyclone with the other. The raging winds pulse angrily, and a blast of hot air washes over Daathiel, Flora, and Mal!
Fire damage: 4d6 + 13 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 1) + 13 = 23
Daathiel Fortitude: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22
Flora Fortitude: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (12) + 18 = 30
Mal Fortitude: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (7) + 19 = 26
The three Pathfinders stand strong against the burning downdraft, but Flora and Daathiel still feel tired as their lungs lose their moisture. Daathiel and Flora are fatigued, and Daathiel takes half damage again due to blink. Mal takes no damage (and thus avoids the fatigue) due to Blessed Fortitude.

- Haste (5/12)
- Cyclone requires Fly check to pass through safely in air and blocks ranged attacks

Mal 001

Mal looks at his carpet and tells it to go flat. my understanding is that once activated I direct it verbally, and since dispel magic only suppresses, it’d still be activated by me, but need a ruling on action economy, either way I’m trying my carpet, I need it back! Will take rest of turn once I know about that.
Flora Mossgreen
|
Flora decides to pull out a wand and start trying to dispel the effects on her. She then move away from the others.
Dispel: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30 One spell or effect of CL 19 or less on her will be dispelled.
| GM Hawthwile |
@Mal - I'll let you know when the carpet's back online, so go ahead and post as if it's not available until then.
@Flora - the only effects that can be dispelled on you are grease and haste. The blast of hot air (which I forgot to mark on the map), though, is another matter...
Also, forgot that the column of hot air sticks around for a while. It's on the map now as the pink spread.
