Jim just gets enormously enthusastic about pumping 'MORE POWER!' to the engines.
Engineering 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
They hum with the extra speed diverted to them!

"Dang it!" mutters Goose as the enemy pilot gets the upper hand for once. "Hang on again mates! Another dicey move coming up!" he shouts as he pushes the ship forward into a dizzying corkscrew.
The ship moves as normal, but it can move through 1 hex occupied by an enemy starship without provoking a free attack. During the following gunnery phase, you can select one arc of your starship’s weapons to fire at the enemy vessel as if the vessel were in close range (treat the range as 1 hex), against any quadrant of the enemy starship. To perform this stunt, you must succeed at a Piloting check (DC = 15 + 1–1/2 × the tier of the enemy starship).
Pilot check, DC 26: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (16) + 19 = 35 Success!

"I'm sure that's not the last time the corpse fleet will interfere in society matters. And we will kick their bony butts when they reappear."

About an hour later you detect the ship shift into Drift. Evidently they decided they wanted to do some repairs before risking Drift travel.
Once the download finishes, you check the system but can find no further signs of Corpse Fleet ships.
Upon returning to Absalom station, Radaszam is eager to meet with you for a full debriefing.
“I’m exhilarated to have my theory proven! This allows us to follow Jelev’s trail! I can’t wait to present this to Historia-7 upon her return from taking some personal time.”
Leaning in conspiratorially, the vesk leader admits “I hope to someday learn and be able to lend assistance to her with whatever it is she is currently dealing with or investigating. Some of the things I’ve heard has me worried for her.”
On hearing about the Bliss of Pursuit and what you have found, Radaszam is able to do some quick checks and confirm the association of the Xinya family with the Golden League. He offers to arrange the return of the crewmen’s bodies to their family. He is glad that you were able to prevent the separate data packet from being sent.
“I fear this means the Golden League may have information about Jelev’s trail as well. Our two organizations may end up in a possible race to trace her final journey.”
When you give your report on the presence of the Congregation of Perpetual Agonies, he congratulates you on driving the vessel away. He then notes “Undead tend to have very long memories. I doubt the Captain will forgive such a slight.”
“We will be informing the Stewards about the Corpse Fleet presence in the Arat system. It will likely take a little time to investigate.”

"Seems a bit unfair to try kill us, then take it as a slight when we vigorously disagree with the idea. I'll be sure to send him a few back episodes of 'Jims Jams' and I'll get the guys from Bamford to throw in a few quality tools - smooth it all right over"
"Anyway, when do we get off on the next mission of following the trail? We got some great footage on that trip, well some of it was ruined by the endless fog, but there was some great technical work getting done on that mission and the kids at home are going to love it. Besides, it sounds like a great adventure amirite?"
Jim poses for a few promo shots with the team, Buddy the goblin making sure there are a few candid ones in there too.

As they finish up and get back to Absolom Station for the debrief, Goose quickly goes to a QuikMart purchasing app and orders a replacement serum he used on the trip. It came in quite handy and he'd be sore if he didn't have it available when next he needed it.
"It's been a pleasure mates. I hope to meet up with you again soon." he offers the crew, following the group photo, of course.

Compucast spends much of the trip back splitting his time between reading, and trying to crack the code on the massive data the ship uploaded.
Once the Drake arrives back at Absalom station he offers a farewell to the team. "My thanks to all of you for a successful mission. Teamwork wins the day once again. And angry or not, if that destroyer can't take on a simple merchant ship, then I imagine the undead captain might be having his eternal existence brought into question."
Thanks for the game everyone.

"I wouldn't argue much with their vengeance Big Jim, bigger fights have been started for far less. I'll won't be sending any care packages their way any time soon, but I'll working hard to be ready next time they feel like they need to match their bones against our muscles." Ivok gives a flex of his physique and grins as he joins in on the group photo.
"This has been a wonderful exercise everyone and, aside from the spirits, I would be excited to join if we find out where the trail leads. For now though I think I will need to do some more cold-weather training; I felt a bit too slow an sluggish out there and didn't feel like I could bring my full weight down. I want to make sure I'm not lagging behind when I'm needed. Maybe I'll lead that into episode depending on how it shapes up."
