Shaking with pain and with one hand splayed over the wound to stop all her blood from gushing away, Lidia reaches into her pack with her free hand, pulls out a potion and drinks it.
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (5, 6) + 3 = 14
The bleeding abates into a slow ooze, but the pain of several ribs chopped into 2 or 3 pieces keeps her moving slow as she tries to resume the fight. As she rests on one knee, Esmé circles about her protectively.

Between Little Buddy and Ulretha the cyclops falls. The giant vultures, free from their captor's whip head straight for the doors and windows. Feel free to take AOOs if you like other wise the birds are running from you all.
| Little Ben PBP |
Ben is not interested in punishing the birds for being caught and trained and lets them fly away.
"Let them go. They serve a purpose out there. I is a good thing that cyclops fell so fast because it cold have easily killed one of us. Almost did."
Turning his attention to Lidia, he asks "May I take a look at that gash?"
Assuming she agrees and we have time...
heal check, treat deadly wounds, surgeons tools: 1d20 + 11 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 11 + 3 = 31
You heal 12 points of damage.
Lidia*
|
Turning his attention to Lidia, he asks "May I take a look at that gash?"
Lidia nods vigorously but says nothing, she's too busy biting down hard on her lip from the pain. Otherwise she remains perfectly still, scrunching up a fistful of Ben's sleeve in her hand as he works.
As he treats her wound with his herbs and salves and as the pain lessens, Lidia is able to relax a bit. She looks annoyed.
"I still don't know how that bastard got me. A great big swooping swing like that is easy to dodge. I had swerved well out of the way, and then I blinked and the next thing I know he's practically cutting me in half. It was the weirdest sensation -- in my head, it sorta sounded like someone hitting a drum really hard. I guess that's what I get for jumping out in front of everyone, huh?"
She looks down at her wound as Ben works. "That feels a lot better. Thanks." She dabs at it with one finger, testing it. "I bet it's gonna leave a scar. Just what I need."
She looks around and sees Thyste watching and smiles weakly. Esmé watches Ben intently from very nearby.
| Thyste Fox-Tailed |
Thyste finally releases the breath she's been holding as Ben patches her up.
"If nothing else, a good scar makes an excellent conversation piece," Thyste points out... after diverting herself from saying that they're "sexy."
| Little Ben PBP |
Ben shakes his head and fingers his wand.
"Not necessarily. If we finish the job and use some magic, that wound will close up rather nicely. If you want a scar, and believe me I know quite a few folks that do, you can let it heal naturally. But now is not really the time for that, so allow me to finish the job with this wand and some of these restorative berries."
Series of CLW roles until she is nearly healed, then finish up with the goodberries.
CLW: 4d8 + 4 ⇒ (6, 7, 8, 7) + 4 = 32
50 damage - 12 from heal - 32 from CLW - 6 from goodberries = no damage.
Lidia*
|
Not to be greedy, but Lidia took 77 damage from that cyclops crit and she was already down a bit from previous fights, so she's now at 68/112 by my math. So keep stroking me with that wand!
"I don't want a scar." says Lidia quietly as she looks down at the healed but still discolored skin. She stands up now with only the lightest grimace and gives her cat a comforting scratch behind the ears and under the chin.

Little Ben PBP wrote:Turning his attention to Lidia, he asks "May I take a look at that gash?"Thyste opens her mouth and closes it again.
Ulretha raises his eyebrows and smirks at Thyste.
At least he's polite about it."
He starts looking around the room for more threats or valuables.

"Fair enough!"
Thyste, satisfied with Lidia in Ben's care, joins Ulretha in poking around. It's not like they're in a rush, so...

Gotcha. That crit was for triple damage, not double.
clw: 4d8 + 4 ⇒ (3, 8, 7, 4) + 4 = 26, so 8 charges and 7 berries.
| GM_Grandlounge |
You can keep the charges and that healing can come from Blix. We will say that is about three cure serious from Blix.
"Oh dear Lidia." Blix says, "Let's get you healed up right quick. Ben, it is good you are helping heal the group but save that for when I am not around. Some day my time will surely come."
| Little Ben PBP |
I guess you're right. Didn't like seeing Lidia like that though."
Are those doors in southeast Z13 and east Z7?
Lidia*
|
"Thanks Father Blix." says Lidia appreciatively.
"Now let's got upstairs and finish this."
"Hey Thyste, what does that horn do that you got from the dragon we allied with? Didn't it have some sort of power over dragons?"
Lidia will head for the stairs across the room and begin climbing to the next level.
| Thyste Fox-Tailed |
"Huh?" asks Thyste, looking down at herself; sure enough, there it is, hanging off her belt. "Oh, right. To be honest I kind of just... forget half the stuff we pick up. I'd forget we had GORUM'S THORN, THE THORN OF GORUM, EXALTED IN THE ARENA AND MIGHTY IN THE BATTLEFIELD if Ully didn't keep talking about it."
She picks it up and turns it this way and that, squinting at it. "Do you think something similar could be made for other species? That's... honestly terrifying to think about. Or maybe there's no magic to it, just a recognizable tone that dragons will know means we're cool."
Ulretha
|
"It is impossible to forget that I have Gorum's Thorn! It is the symbol that I have been chosen by the Mighty Gorum to serve as his strong right hand! As easy to forget to breath. Which I sometimes help people do using Gorum's Thorn."
| Little Ben PBP |
"Well, it's not like we are running into a bunch of dragons. A good thing I'm thinking. But it would be a good idea wot keep it in mind."
"I guess we just pick a door and we can see what is behind it at this point."
Lidia*
|
"That giant lady said there's a big dragon up this tower. Along with the boss giant. Let's head upstairs." says Lidia.
When Thyste gets closer enough, Lidia whispers something to her.

Thyste shrugs.
| Azardra, the other Grandmother |
Azardra is tired.
”Didn’t your parents teach you that keeping secrets from your companions is kind of rude! Going on now or not? I’m really eager to end this!“ she says in her full plate armor that allows her little room to move.
| GM_Grandlounge |
This large circular chamber is divided into two distinct areas. Great arched windows encircle the perimeter of the room, offering a panoramic view of the mountains and valley below. To the northwest stand a table and half a dozen chairs sized for giants. A curved flight of stairs descends along the northeast wall. To the southeast, a huge box bed filled with a pile of fresh straw covered with wool blankets and the furry pelt of a massive dire bear lies against one wall. Three coffers of polished stone stand near the bed. To the south is a massive stone tub filled with water, along with several huge water barrels. A second flight of stairs climbs
along the southwest wall.
| Little Ben PBP |
How big are the squares on this level?
Ben heads in and checks out the table, his troll feet making slapping sounds as he goes.
Ulretha
|
"We should probably use that once we get done killing everything here," Ulretha says, pointing at the tub. They have, after all, not bathed since riding in a dung cart.
For the moment though, he approaches the coffers, which he knows is a fancy word for "box full of money."
Lidia*
|
Lidia creeps up into the room. Seeing no one present in a room that looks important, she turns to the arched windows for a careful look outside.
Looking for the dragon or anything interesting happening in the valley below.

Lidia, when you look outside, you can see that the last bit of chaos from your firey, violent and loud distraction, that got you all in here, have settled. Things seem to be returning to normal in the camp. While you are looking down, you sware that for the briefest moment that red whipped across the top of your vision. The briefest flash of something flickering in and out of your periphery with the shape of a vine or snake.
Lidia*
|
"Guys, I think I saw the dragon flying around outside the tower. Not sure though, it went by really fast." says Lidia.
"We should move upstairs another level. We need to find that boss giant quickly, I think our time is running out."
| Thyste Fox-Tailed |
"Okay but hear me out: what if we blow the horn now, tell the dragon we're buds or whatever, and then get to the boss giant? Possibly with a cool dragon friend?"
Lidia*
|
"We don't know what the horn does. It might just alert everyone that we're here." counters Lidia.
| Little Ben PBP |
"Does it work once only, or a bunch of times?"
| GM_Grandlounge |
The Drakesbane Horn affects dragons based on their CR, as detailed below.
Creatures of the dragon type of CR 5 or less within 400 feet must succeed at a DC 13 Will save or be affected as if by scare (no HD limit).
Creatures of the dragon type of CR 6 to CR 10 within 400 feet must succeed at a DC 22 Will save or be affected as if by sympathy.
Adult or older true dragons and creatures of the dragon type of CR 11 or greater are immune to the horn’s effects, though they are likely to seek out the horn and attack its bearer.
[ooc]There is no limit on uses but once a Dragon saves it is immune for 24h. The last paragraph starting with Adult. That is not magical they do not know who blows the horn they will look for it and find the most likely person to have blown the horn. [ooc]
