Tsadok

Tsadok Whisperfall wrote:

Tsadok Watched Nyym go through on the conveyor and just shakes his head. As the others consider how to follow, he hears the Erutaki talk of a door to open but he sees no door. Then Kytynna reveals and opens a hidden door. Then in a rush the warrior strides through the door then with a flash of a faint fiery glow then to darkness. But Tsadok can still see the outline of the warrior then another comes into view. Then dark flashes from a chained weapon strike out but miss the warrior. As Tsadok starts to make his move, up from below Nyym appears with a flash of his blade to cut into the Nikumu.

Tsadok has to quickly change his plan of action with the appearance of Nyym. He rush forward drawing Sable Moon moving through the door. With a planting of his left foot, he steps up with his right foot onto the rail of the catwalk to the right of Erutaki. Then continues down the rail past the Nikumu, where he swings Sable Moon to hook and sling the bow off the catwalk.

As Tsadok runs along the the railing of the catwalk, the converted Nikumu catches sight of him and sends the weighted metal of his chain-sickle out in an attempt to disrupt the movement.

Nikumu Punisher AoO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
kusarigama chain damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

However, the grey-skinned half-orc's speed and agility proved to be more than the converted anticipated as he performed an aerial cartwheel on the rail to avoid the attack before continuing on.

Tsadok Whisperfall wrote:
He then continues past Nyym where he steps back onto the catwalk. And turns back toward the fight, bring Sable Moon bare. Where the ring chime in rhythm.

As he nears his target, Tsadok lowers his sword as he steps off the rail and uses it to hook the bow, which he then flings off the catwalk to the floor below. Immediately, the phantasmal fiery green light created earlier by Nyym returns.

This ends Tsadok's turn. Next up is Kyt.

Kyt
The elven warrior monk steps onto the catwalk as the darkness is lifted and her attention is immediately drawn to the converted that is surrounded by her companions. Not one to miss out on a good party, Kyt draws her blue crystal sword as she joins them and does her part to put down this enemy.

This ends Kyt's turn. Next up is Liesel-Marie. This is the updated map.

With her left hand on the shaft of Agrimmosh near its head above her right near the base, the Erutaki shifts her grip to put the hammer over her head before bringing it down to slam into the converted's shoulder as he is rising back to a vertical base.

The blow should have driven him back down, but it only serves to cause to pause only for a moment before continuing to resume standing up. There is no expression of pain on the converted's face, only a look of wild ecstasy.

Nikumu Punisher sustains 23 damage, for a total of 59. He suffers a -2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks, as well as to AC and caster level at this time. Round 1 officially comes to an end. Round 2 begins now.

Nikumu Punisher
The converted Nikumu looks at each of his three opponents with a crazed smile before focusing his gaze on Nyym. Your time with this iblith has dulled your ilythiiri cunning. You are not deserving of her affection. And I, Ildan, will prove it this day.

And with those words, Ildan does a backflip that places him on the stairs that lead down to the manufactory floor.

When you withdraw, you can move up to double your speed. The square you start out in is not considered threatened by any opponent you can see, and therefore visible enemies do not get attacks of opportunity against you when you move from that square.

Thanks, Tsadok. Nyym spoke as he looked toward the taunting Nikumu and readied himself to continue the fight. He gave no indication that this Nikumu's taunting had any effect. Nyym remained focused on the tasks at hand.

Thanks to some assistance from Tsadok, Nyym sustains only 5 points of damage rather than the 11 he would have received from making his saving throw. Tsadok, thanks to evasion, sustains no damage. Liesel-Marie avoids being dragged by the grabber.

Rocnork
From where he lay on the conveyor belt, the wyvaran can hear the skirmish taking place above him. Thinking that this is his cue to act, Rocnork turns his head and stands up as he directs his attention to the closest target: a cybernetic servant.

Move Action: stand up from prone
Standard Action: fires kinetic blast

sand blast: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
sand blast damage: 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 1, 4) + 7 = 14

Using his hands, Rocnork guides the stream of sand, causing it to slam into the once unaware machine, which scrambles to remain upright against the blast.

Cybernetic servant A sustains 14 points of damage.

Cybernetic Servant
Having withstood the wyvaran's assault, the now damaged machine turns toward the winged humanoid, lowering the strange contraption on its shoulder.

net launcher: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Moving as though possessed of a will of its own, the particulate that floats around Rocnork knocks aside the incoming projectile, causing it to veer off wildly and impact against the rear wall.

The other mechanoid, meanwhile, curls up into a disk and begins rolling toward the stairs leading up to the catwalk.

Cyborg Processor
The great machine dominating the chamber, its small arms reaching out toward the encircling conveyor, sends a single metallic tendril that writhes sinuously like a clawed hand and glaring eye in one toward the catwalk.

Standard Action: grapple Liesel-Marie using its Snatch feat

tendril: 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (16) + 31 = 47
grapple attempt: 1d20 + 35 ⇒ (20) + 35 = 55
critical confirmation: 1d20 + 35 ⇒ (7) + 35 = 42
tendril damage: 2d6 + 19 ⇒ (1, 5) + 19 = 25; +6 damage due to crit for a total of 31

Before she can fully recover from dealing with the grabber, Liesel-Marie finds herself beset upon once again, only this time she finds herself caught by this newest threat.

Liesel-Marie sustains 31 points of damage and is Wounded. She takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks, as well as to AC and caster level. In addition, she is also grappled. She cannot move and takes a –4 penalty to Dexterity. As a result, she takes an additional –2 penalty on all attack rolls and combat maneuver checks, except those made to grapple or escape a grapple. In addition, she can take no action that requires two hands to perform. If she attempts to cast a spell or use a spell-like ability (kinetic blast and any infusions it possesses fall into this category), she must make a concentration check (DC 48), or lose the spell. Liesel-Marie cannot make attacks of opportunity. For those wishing to attack the tendril, it has an AC 17, hardness 5 and 18 hit points. Next up is Nyym.

The half-drow's lightning blade meets some resistance as he attempts to slice through the cyborg processor's tendril. With fierce determination, he manages to cut deep enough into the appendage's hardened exterior to reach the more delicate components within, but the kinetic katana is unable to finish what Nyym has started.

The cyborg processor has sustained 14 points of damage. Its tendril, though damaged, is functional and thus still has Liesel-Marie grappled. The reason for this is because the tendril is treated as an object, and energy attacks only do half damage to objects (in this case, 11 damage then minus 5 due to hardness for a total of 6). However, it is also vulnerable to electrical attacks and, on top of that, takes an additional +2 points of damage due to Nyym's focus on electricity (6 x 2 = 12 + 2 = 14). Next up is Tsadok.

Tsadok
Tsadok hears Nyym and turns to see what has caused the outburst. He see Nyym strike the tendril and leave a nice wound. He moves to strike at the same point as Nyym to sever the tendril.

The grey-skinned half-orc brings down Sable Moon with a vertical slash. But even with aiming at the same spot that Nyym has opened up, Tsadok is unable to completely cut through the tendril. It is only with a second swing of his blade that the offending appendage is fully severed.

As the sundered limb falls to the catwalk with a noisy clank where it lays twitching, he then turns his gaze to the machine below to see what it plans next.

The cyborg processor has sustained 9 points of damage, for a total of 23. Liesel-Marie no longer suffers from the grappled condition. Next up is Kyt.

Kyt
Kyt watches as the main portion of the tendril retracts back toward the cyborg processor. She drops the blue crystal sword and curls her fingers, placing both hands together at chest level so that they're facing the same direction (with the palm of one hand on the back of the other) as she begins gathering her ki in a display of energy that emits sporadic bolts which arc out like electricity in every direction. As this happens, Kyt's normal greenish-blue eyes darken to an aquamarine hue as her hair flickers intermittently to become azure white in color. Finally, she thrusts both hands forward to fire a massive wave of blue energy with swirls of white ki streaming around it towards the cyborg processor before her hair and eyes settle back to their usual color.

Surge Fist - Final Crash: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

The energy stream slams into the enormous machine, the impact sounding like waves crashing against rocks on shore. However, much to Kyt's dismay, the attack appears to have little (if any) effect on the cyborg processor.

The cyborg processor has sustained 4 points of damage, for a total of 27. Next up is Liesel-Marie.

Once per day as a full-round action, the wielder of Agrimmosh can use the hammer to cast heightened enlarge person (Fortitude DC 23 negates). This effect lasts for 20 minutes.

You also have a potion of enlarge person as well (which will last 3 minutes). Using that is a standard action. Retrieving it is a move action.

This is why I was hoping for more warning before we jumped in. Sidelong glance at the player of the impetuous half-drow. ;-) I don't want to give up what's probably more than a full round after battle's engaged - that's what other spellcasters are for, I'm here to break things.

A request for our diligent GM: When you craft the next map update, can you scale everything so the characters are about a quarter the current size so we can see more actual map?

Liesel-Marie does something unexpected - she pauses to focus and conjures up what appears to be a shield composed of flame. It floats before her, ready for action.

She can move down the stairs or over the catwalk's railing (using either Acrobatics or Athletics), draw or sheathe a weapon, or retrieve a stored item. If she does go over the railing, it is 30 feet above the floor so there is the potential for taking damage (3d6, to be precise).

As to your request for the map resizing, I'm focusing on that very thing. Until now, I had my reasons for keeping it the way I have it. But with Ildan (the Nikumu Punisher) down on the floor for his turn, those reasons no longer apply.

Liesel-Marie
Liesel-Marie does something unexpected - she pauses to focus and conjures up what appears to be a shield composed of flame. It floats before her, ready for action.

She moves toward the stairs, careful to watch for attacks from the many foes in this room.

As she begins her descent, the unmistakable glow of Nyym's faerie fire catches her attention. But that isn't all the Erutaki sees. To the north of the cyborg processor, Liesel-Marie is also able to make out the presence of three more converted Nikumu. Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, she also sees the converted who named himself as Ildan to Nyym along with a cybernetic servant.

If she is only moving at her base movement speed, then Liesel-Marie will end her turn on the floor at the base of the stairs and 10 feet away from Ildan.

This bring the round to an end. Round 3 begins now.

Ildan
Still limned by Nyym's magical fire, Ildan stands in the shadow of the gargantuan cyborg processor, his mind racing and his emotions threatening to consume him.

K'lararl l'xan'ss. Udos orn morfeth l'inth vel'drav udos yutsu. F'sarn zhaunus yathrin Miz'ri orn ssinssrin ulu belbau udossa natha dumoas p'los udos elgg l'samurai. Translation: Pass the word. We will make the plan when we return. I'm sure priestess Miz'ri will want to give us a blessing before we kill the samurai.

Ildan stands to, left hand striking his right chest. Siyo, malla Renor Drokk. Translation: Yes, honored Black Fist.

Nizana waves away the male absently, who immediately sets off to speak the other elves. Her mind is focused on another matter. However, Ildan didn't go too far, opting instead to use his ki to mask his presence from the still disguised female drow.

The image of Nizana turning back toward Trunau with a smile is burned into his memory, as are the words that his sharp drow hearing is able to pick up from her:

Usstan lor fau'lad ulu udossta huthin talthalra, lotha barra, she whispers before turning to race after her fellow drow. Translation: I look forward to our next meeting, little shadow.

She had never shown any sort tejmook'cinkjuu, feeling, like that toward him. The thought of a colnbluth, an outsider, receiving something that he himself has been denied stirs the strongest plithut, hatred, deep within Ildan. And that emotion is what enabled Ildan to survive his conversion process with his personality mostly intact.

Ildan Perception check: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29; -2 due to Wounded threshold. DC 8

He hears the footsteps of someone descending the metal staircase behind him. These were not the measured tread of someone trained in the ways of subterfuge and guile. No, these belonged to a warrior.

Ildan dives to retrieve his bow.

Acrobatics check to cover the 15 feet between himself and bow: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26; -2 due to Wounded threshold, - 5 due using Acrobatics instead of Athletics. DC 15

He covers the distance in a diving roll, using one hand to grab the weapon while the other reaches into his quiver for an arrow as he comes to a kneeling position.

No Action: Perception check
No Action: Acrobatics check to jump 15 feet
Move Action: pick bow
Standard Action: use bow

Ildan bow shot: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18; -2 due to Wounded threshold. Liesel-Marie benefits from partial cover thanks to the staircase, giving her a +2 bonus to AC and a +1 bonus to her Reflex save.
arrow damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

The launched arrow veers unerringly toward the Erutaki, only to be knocked aside by her flaming shield and to slam into the floor where it leaves a faint patch of ice that slowly fades from view.

Ildan's turn comes to an end. He is once again enshrouded in darkness. Next up is the Cyborg Shadow Warriors.

Cyborg Shadow Warriors
With each of them standing next to a bank of strange devices, the three cyborgs once again interact with the blinking machines.

Once again on the catwalk, the results of their actions become evident as three cables with nozzles all drop from the ceiling to attack those still there.

Sprayer attack 1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15; +2 to attack, directed at Nyym's CMD
Sprayer attack 2: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20; +2 to attack, directed at Kyt's CMD
Sprayer attack 3: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20; +2 to attack, directed at Tsadok's CMD

The strong scent of chemicals alert the trio moments before the implements begin unleashing streams of fluid at them. Each manage to avoid being struck by the alien liquid, but it is soon becoming apparent that the longer they remain on the catwalk, the more opportunity there is for them to be attacked in this manner.

On the floor, the three converted shadow warriors begin to converge on Ildan.

The cyborg shadow warriors' turn comes to an end. Next up is Rocnork.

Rocnork
Meanwhile, Rocnork is discovering the difficulty of maintaining an upright position on the moving conveyor belt.

Acrobatics check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15; DC 12

After widening his stance to improve his balance, the wyvaran remains still just long enough to spread his wings and take to the air. As he moves upward, a hand drops to the satchel he carries where he retrieves a glass bottle containing electricity flowing along a filament. Rocnork points it toward the cyborg processor, then places his other hand on the cap.

No Action: Acrobatics to remain upright on moving conveyor
Move Action: Fly up 15 feet while retrieving bottled lightning
Standard Action: use bottled lightning

Rocnork bottled lightning attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17; this is a ranged touch attack.
bottled lightning damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Amidst a small clap of thunder, Rocnork unleashes the small bolt of lightning toward the enormous cyborg processor, striking squarely in the back.

The cyborg processor has sustained 9 points of damage, for a total of 36. This ends the first of two posts. Next up is the cybernetic servants.

Cybernetic Servant
The cybernetic servant that had been the target of Rocnork does not retaliate against wyvaran, but rather turns its attention to the cyborg processor.

No Action: 5-foot step toward the cyborg processor
Standard Action: Repair cybernetics

As it scuttles quickly toward enormous machine, the servant's hands transform into strange multi-tools that it then touches to the processor.

Repair Cybernetics: 1d10 ⇒ 3

The implements that make up it's hands move rapidly across the machine's surface. And as it does so, some of the damage that has been inflicted on it begins to disappear.

The cyborg processor has recovered 3 points of damage, reducing the total of damage taken to 33.

The other servant also makes it way toward the processor, and like its companion, begins tending to the damage on it.

Move Action: move toward the cyborg processor
Standard Action: Repair cybernetics

Repair Cybernetics: 1d10 ⇒ 4

The cyborg processor has recovered 4 points of damage, reducing the total of damage taken to 29.

This ends the cybernetic servants' turn. Next up is the cyborg processor.

Cyborg Processor
As the servants repair it, the cyborg processor sends out another tendril, it being quite similar to those that were used to attack the organics on the catwalk. And as with those. it unleashes a stream of strange fluid at Liesel-Marie.

Cyborg Processor Nanite Stream: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17; ranged touch attack, Liesel-Marie benefits from partial cover thanks to the staircase, giving her a +2 bonus to AC and a +1 bonus to her Reflex save.

I need a DC 17 Will save from Liesel-Marie. If she fails, the Erutaki will be entranced for 3 rounds, unable to take actions other than moving her normal speed toward the cyborg processor, at which point she stops and stands helpless.

Next up is Bosco.

Bosco
The half-bugbear begins a sing-song chant, then looks over at the carbuncle resting on his shoulder. It's time. Go and help the angry one.

The tiny creature emits a trilling noise before leaping from its perch and running through the open doorway.

Standard Action (Bosco): casts cure critical wounds and designates the carbuncle as the toucher.
Move Action (carbuncle): moves onto catwalk
No Action (carbuncle): Perception check to locate Liesel-Marie (DC 20)
Standard Action: uses fatal faker ability

Once across the threshold, the carbuncle stops just long enough to sniff the air. Then, with a bluish flash, a puff of smoke, and something akin to a reptilian croak, the creature vanishes only to appear below on the base of the stairs where it staggers into his target.

Perception check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Cure Critical Wounds: 4d8 + 8 ⇒ (3, 6, 4, 8) + 8 = 29

Back where the carbuncle once was lies a perfect replica of itself in all ways, though the copy is obviously dead and the colorless stone in its head crumbles to worthless dust.

With the carbuncle's touch, Liesel-Marie recovers 29 points of damage, putting her total hit points at 50. This ends Bosco's turn. Next up is Nyym.

I do apologize for the difficulty. However, Liesel-Marie's display of prowess in front of the cyborg processor has marked her as a candidate for conversion. So its doing everything it can to make that happen. She does get another saving throw to break free on her turn (though that is a full-round action).

He was over the rail and dropping into the darkness.

The DC to soften Nyym's fall is 15, so he passes that Acrobatics check. Since it is a deliberate jump, Nyym will take 2d6 damage (one die being nonlethal, the other being lethal damage).

falling damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11

Nyym sustains 6 points of nonlethal damage and 5 points lethal damage from the fall.

Nyym wasted no time as he landed and turned on Ildan, sweeping the left blade horizontally from right to left, then slices vertically upwards with the right blade. However, Ildan grabs the bow by the central grip and uses the arms to parry the half-drow's attacks, the action creating sparks with each point of contact.

The elf grabs and sheathes her sword before taking off down the catwalk. It isn't long before she catches sight of a converted Nikumu standing in front of a strange contraption of buttons and levers.

A mischievous smile spreads across her lips as an idea forms in her mind. Once again she curls her fingers, placing both hands together at chest level so that they're facing the same direction (with the palm of one hand on the back of the other) as Kyt begins gathering her ki in a display of energy that emits sporadic bolts which arc out like electricity in every direction. Kyt thrusts both hands forward to fire a massive wave of blue energy with swirls of white ki streaming around it towards the Nikumu.

And it is at this point that I would like to take an opportunity to call out an error on my part. Because she had been attacked by the cyborg processor prior to being hit by the nanite spray, our Erutaki Warrior Princess™ should have gotten a +5 bonus to her Will saving throw. Ildan
So focused on defending himself from Nyym, Ildan didn't realize the threat posed by the Erutaki until she smashed his arm with that hammer. Unable to effectively wield his bow, the Nikumu drops it to floor.

Free Action: drop bow
Move Action: manifest wakizashi psiblade
Full-Attack Action: attack Liesel-Marie

The converted focuses, causing a new weapon, a wakizashi, to appear in place of the one he just dropped. Holding the weapon horizontally, he then brings the sword behind his back on the right side and slashes at Liesel-Marie's left leg.

Ildan wakizashi attack 1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30; +2 due to dispatchment, -3 due to Critical threshold
wakizashi damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Ildan wakizashi attack 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7; +2 due to dispatchment, -3 due to Critical threshold
wakizashi damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Ildan wakizashi attack 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22; reroll due to shadow slash talent, +2 due to dispatchment, -3 due to Critical threshold
wakizashi damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
sneak attack damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 4) = 13

With a flourish, Ildan leaves a slash across Liesel-Marie's upper thigh.

Liesel-Marie sustains 22 points of damage, leaving her with 28 hit points. She suffers a -1 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks, as well as to AC and caster level at this time.

Cyborg Shadow Warriors
The converted at the control panels turn away and unholster their hand crossbows, which they then aim at their respective targets.

Move Action: draw weapon
Standard Action: fire hand crossbow

Cyborg Shadow Warrior 1 hand crossbow attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9; +2 to attack, directed at Rocnork
bolt damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4; DC 13 Fortitude save due to drow poison
Cyborg Shadow Warrior 2 hand crossbow attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20; +2 to attack, directed at Kyt, -2 due to range penalty
bolt damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1; DC 13 Fortitude save due to drow poison
Cyborg Shadow Warrior 3 hand crossbow attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19; +2 to attack, directed at Kyt
bolt damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2; DC 13 Fortitude save due to drow poison

Kyt is hit first from behind then from the front by the tiny darts. As they pierced her skin, the elf can feel the insidious poison coating their tips enter her bloodstream.

Kyt sustains 3 damage, leaving her with 55 hit points. Due to being hit by both bolts, the save for resisting the drow poison increases by +2 to 15 and the duration will increase to 3 minutes.

Kyt's Fortitude save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Meanwhile the three converted that were converging on Ildan take up position around their leader and attack Tsadok.

Cyborg Shadow Warrior 4 tsurugi attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9; +4 to attack
tsurugi damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5; DC 13 Fortitude save due to drow poison
Cyborg Shadow Warrior 5 tsurugi attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23; +4 to attack
tsurugi damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4; DC 13 Fortitude save due to drow poison
Cyborg Shadow Warrior 6 tsurugi attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25; +4 to attack
tsurugi damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7; DC 13 Fortitude save due to drow poison

Tsadok sustains 11 points of damage, leaving him with 41 hit points. He must make a DC 15 Fortitude save or succumb to unconsciousness due to the drow poison on their blades.

Rocnork
Slipping his hand back into his satchel, the wyvaran retrieves a sealed vial containing an indigo liquid, which he then hurls at the cyborg processor.

Move Action: Retrieve mineral acid
Standard Action: throw vial of mineral acid

Mineral Acid throw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
mineral acid damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4; doubled against the cyborg processor

The vial shatters against the side of the enormous machine and as soon as the liquid makes contact with it, the surface begins to react, the area burning and bubbling.

The cyborg processor has sustained 8 points of damage, for a total of 36.

This ends the first of two posts.

Cybernetic Servants
Sensing that more damage has been done to their creator, the cybernetic servants continue working on repairing the cyborg processor.

Standard Action: repair cybernetics

Cybernetic Servant 1 Repair Cybernetics: 1d10 ⇒ 8
Cybernetic Servant 2 Repair Cybernetics: 1d10 ⇒ 6

The cyborg processor has recovered 14 points of damage, reducing the total of damage taken to 22.

Cyborg Processor
Thanks to the efforts of its servants, the damage to the cyborg processor's tendril has been repaired. It sends that metallic appendage toward a new target.

Standard Action: grapple Rocnork using Snatch

tendril: 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (18) + 31 = 49
grapple attempt: 1d20 + 35 ⇒ (3) + 35 = 38
tendril damage: 2d6 + 19 ⇒ (6, 4) + 19 = 29

Such is the speed of its assault that Rocnork is unable to affect any kind of resistance as he is wrapped up tightly in the cyborg processor's tendril.

Rocnork sustains 29 points of damage and is Grazed with 34 hit points. He takes a –1 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks, as well as to AC and caster level. In addition, he is also grappled. He cannot move and takes a –4 penalty to Dexterity. As a result, he takes an additional –2 penalty on all attack rolls and combat maneuver checks, except those made to grapple or escape a grapple. In addition, he can take no action that requires two hands to perform. If he attempts to cast a spell or use a spell-like ability (kinetic blast and any infusions it possesses fall into this category), he must make a concentration check (DC 48), or lose the spell. Rocnork cannot make attacks of opportunity. For those wishing to attack the tendril, it has an AC 17, hardness 5 and 18 hit points.

Bosco
The carbuncle moves in the direction of Liesel-Marie, using its superior senses to navigate the darkness. As it does so, the tiny creature conveys to its half-bugbear ally the danger it feels at being exposed. Back in the loading dock, Bosco draws upon the aethereal currents that flow throughout the universe and focuses that energy upon his friend, with the words:

Be defenseless no more, my animus.

Move Action [Carbuncle]: move closer to Liesel-Marie
Standard Action [Bosco]: use to summon monster V to create ankylosaurus animus form for the carbuncle
Free Action [Carbuncle/Animus]: use scent to pinpoint Ildan
Standard Action [Carbuncle/Animus]: attack Ildan

The transformation comes with the cost of the superior visual acuity of the carbuncle. However, the animus is gifted with a much stronger sense of smell. Strong enough to allow it to distinguish between friend and foe.

Perception check to pinpoint Ildan: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15; DC 14

No one, whether it be Ildan, Liesel-Marie, or Nyym, is prepared for the sudden appearance of the quadrupedal creature with thick bony plates armoring its domelike back that spins in place while lashing out with its powerfully muscled tail that ended in a pale blue gem-like club.

Animus tail attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
tail damage: 3d6 + 12 ⇒ (5, 4, 4) + 12 = 25

The glowing gem-like semi-circular knob on the end of the animus' tail slams into the surprised Nikumu, roughly bisecting him as his torso is lifted away from the rest of the converted's body to land with a thunk a short distance away.

Ildan has sustained 25 damage and is destroyed. Next up is Nyym.

The half-drow brings the first lightning blade over his head and down vertically onto his opponent's head while slicing upwards from bottom to top with the second blade. The results were catastrophic for the converted as the kinetic blades sear through its flesh, eliciting a frightful display of sparks before it collapsed to the floor where it convulses for a moment before death settles in to still its movements.

Cyborg Shadow Warrior 4 sustains 28 points of damage and is destroyed. This brings Nyym's turn to an end. Next up is Tsadok.

Tsadok
As the converted behind him falls to Nyym's lightning blade, Tsadok slips past the one before him in order in preparation of his next attack.
No Action: 5-foot step past Cyborg Shadow Warrior 5
Full-Attack Action: attack Cyborg Shadow Warrior 5

Sable Moon Attack #1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

Sable Moon Attack #2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
temple sword damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

With the handle of Sable Moon at chin height and the blade vertical in front of his face, Tsadok brings the blade down at his opponent's right arm, leaving a sparking gash in the weapon's wake. He then quickly spins, turning sword horizontal to slash at the converted once again. This time, however, the Nikumu adjusted its stance enough to bring its own weapon to bear and block the attack.

Cyborg Shadow Warrior 4 sustains 8 points of damage, for a total of 22. This brings Tsadok's[/ob] turn to an end. Next up is [b]Kyt.

Kyt

Surge Fist damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

The wave of ki crashes into the Nikumu, knocking it once again into the control panel.

Cyborg Shadow Warrior 3 sustains 11 points of damage, for a total of 21. This brings an end to Kyt's turn. Next up is Liesel-Marie.

Cyborg Shadow Warrior 6 tsurugi attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
tsurugi damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Despite its best efforts, the half-drow nimbly avoids the converted's swinging sword.

Meanwhile, the one engaging Tsadok presses on in an attempt to take down the grey-skinned half-orc.
Full-Attack Action: attack Tsadok with tsurugi

Cyborg Shadow Warrior 5 tsurugi attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
tsurugi damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Using one hand, the converted brings the tsurugi over its left shoulder and slashes diagonally at Tsadok's right arm, who, in turn, performs a parry that involves keeping the handle of Sable Moon at waist height and moving the blade to defend his right arm. He can feel the force of the converted's attack travel through his body as the two blades collide.

Tsadok sustains 6 points of damage and is Grazed with 35 hit points. He takes a –1 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks, as well as to AC and caster level.

Moving simultaneously, the converted at the control panels and reload their hand crossbows before pointing them once more at their previous targets.

Despite being wrapped up by the cyborg processor's tendril, the wyvaran proves to be an elusive target as he moves just enough to evade the tiny bolt. Meanwhile, Kyt, using the railing of the catwalk to assist her, cleverly manages to avoid being hit by the first sinister projectile. However, the converted that has been on the receiving end of her surge fists, manages to catch her in the side before she can recover.

Kyt sustains 3 damage, leaving her with 52 hit points.

Kyt Fortitude save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

The elf grimaces as she feels the all too familiar sting of the bolt penetrating her flesh. But the adrenaline coursing through Kyt's body allows the warrior to resist the debilitating effects of the drow poison.

Rocnork
Using the hand crossbow attack of the converted to his advantage, Rocnork is able to slip one of his hands into his satchel, and, through deft manipulation, manages to not only recover an item but remove the seal covering it while also positioning the weapon just enough to aim it at the tendril.

Liesel-Marie sustains 10 points of damage, leaving her with 40 hit points.

Meanwhile, its companion continues working to mitigate any damage done to the cyborg processor.
Standard Action: repair cybernetics

Cybernetic Servant 2 Repair Cybernetics: 1d10 ⇒ 6

The cyborg processor has recovered 6 points of damage, reducing the total of damage sustained to 21.

Cyborg Processor
Having received the jolt of electricity from the wyvaran, the cyborg processor gives Rocnork a squeeze with its tendril before flinging him down toward the manufactory floor.
Free Action: grapple check to squeeze Rocnork
Standard Action: fling Rocnork

Cyborg Processor Grapple Check: 1d20 + 35 ⇒ (3) + 35 = 38

distance in feet flung: 1d6 ⇒ 6 x10 for a total of 60 feet
damage taken from fling: 6d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 5, 1, 2) = 25

Rocnork sustains 25 damage from the tendril flinging him. This will leave him not only Critical at -17 hit points, but will also leave him unconscious and on the brink of death. However, he can use Acrobatics to negate the damage. The DC is 10

Rocnork Acrobatics check: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25; -3 due to Critical threshold

As the wyvaran plummets like a stone, Rocnork finds it difficult to move due to the severe pain he is experiencing. But he has no time to think about this. Instead, he forces his wings to open, angling them so that they are higher in order to slow his momentum while simultaneously using his legs and tail like a rudder. He begins to flap with steady beats until the wyvaran comes in for a landing, easing his way to the floor.

Bosco
The quadrupedal creature with thick bony plates armoring its domelike back, after taking down Ildan, spins once again in place while lashing out with its powerfully muscled tail that ended in a pale blue gem-like club, its target now being the cyborg processor.

Full-Attack Action: attack the cyborg processor

Animus tail attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
tail damage: 3d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 6, 1) + 12 = 20

The glowing gem-like semi-circular knob on the end of the animus' tail slams into the base of the enormous machine, leaving a sizable dent on the processor's surface.

The cyborg processor has sustained 20 points of damage, for a total of 41. Next up is Nyym.

When calculating Nyym's damage with his titangrip dual jutsu, I did not take into account the extra damage his attacks inflict due to the vulnerability to electricity the converted possess and his basic electrokinesis. As a result, the total damage sustained by Cyborg Shadow Warrior 6 is 49, and that destroys the converted Nikumu.

Using one hand, the converted brings the tsurugi over its right shoulder and slashes diagonally at Tsadok's left arm. However, the gray-skinned half-orc simply keeps the handle of Sable Moon at waist height and moves the crystalline blade to defend his left arm.

Meanwhile, the two remaining converted at the control panels reload their hand crossbows before pointing them at their previous targets.

Having prevented himself from crashing into the manufactory floor, Rocnork is breathing a sigh of relief when over the din of battle he hears a click behind him. Whirling around as rapidly as his battered body will allow, the wyvaran is able to see the small dart from the converted's hand crossbow speed across the distance separating them. He reflexively throws out a hand in an attempt to block, but the dart is already past that point. It sticks deep into the base of his neck, just above the collarbone.

Rocnork
The wyvaran staggers, his movements almost drunken in nature. He stares at his hand, still held out before him, and it is trembling violently. He can feel it beginning, the numbing of his extremities and the dulling of his thoughts as the insidious drow poison starts to course through his veins.

Focusing his will, Rocnork turns his attention to taking care of some of the injuries sustained during this fight.

Move Action: retrieve potion of cure moderate wounds
Standard Action: drink potion of cure moderate wounds

potion of cure moderate wounds: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 7) + 3 = 16

He moves his heavy arms, forcing himself to reach into the pouch on his waist and retrieve a metal vial from within. With great effort, Rocnork removes the stopper sealing the container and drinks the contents within. Immediately his senses begin to sharpen and the fog in his mind lifts, but only a little. The wyvaran knows that, at best, this is but a stopgap measure. If he doesn't do something soon, the poison will overwhelm his body completely, leaving him helpless before the Nikumu.

Rocnork recovers 16 points of damage, and is Wounded with 21 hit points. He takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks, as well as to AC and caster level. He is also in the first of 10 rounds (1 minute onset time) before the drow poison renders him unconscious.

This ends the first of two posts. I've decided to hold off my update of the map until I finish the second post.

But more importantly, it causes Kyt to think of her arael'sha, her heart-friend, Aodhàn. And in that moment, it is as though she can feel the Chelish bouncer's presence, his arms wrapped around her from behind, with Kyt hearing his gruff voice saying back to her the words spoken earlier that day to him at Ramblehouse:

You hold my heart forever. I know yours is the stronger will.

And with that bit of encouragement to fuel her, Kyt digs down deep, bringing her considerable mental fortitude to bear against the surging nanite horde within attempting to steal her mind.

The cyborg processor has sustained 18 (9 doubled due to the machine being made of metal) points of damage, for a total of 102, and is Wounded. It takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks, as well as to AC and caster level. The total damage sustained is higher because I had been neglecting the continued acid damage done from when Rocnork threw his vial of mineral acid two rounds earlier. And while I could handwave it by saying that the repairs done by the cybernetic servants were mitigating that acid damage, it would not be fair of me as DM to do that.

The elven warrior monk stares down at the remains of her opponent, both body and mind still fighting the effects of the nanites within her. But she has no time to dwell on this, as her friends and family still need her to be proactive.

She casts her gaze about until her eyes fall upon another of the converted Nikumu that, like the one now down, is posted at a similar set of controls. Kyt shakes her head as the thought of more surprises being unleashed by it runs through her mind. Determined to not have anymore interference like that, she begins to move toward her newest adversary.

Next up is Liesel-Marie.

The hammer slams into the cybernetic servant, pinning it momentarily to the side of the larger machine. When the Erutaki pulls Agrimmosh back, she is witness to the mechanical being's reaction to her blow:

Warning. Experiencing rapid variations in signal levels. Unable to compensate. Attempting to reroute signals.

Cybernetic Servant 2 sustains 24 points of damage and is Critical. It takes a –3 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks, as well as to AC and caster level, as well as an additional –2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks (this additional penalty lasts for 2 rounds). Finally, it may take a single move action or standard action each round (but not both, nor can it take full-round actions, though it can still take free, swift, and immediate actions) for 2 rounds due to the head shot done by Liesel-Marie, which I treated as a called shot with the effect of a debilitating blow. And though as a construct it is immune to the unconsciousness (as it requires a Fortitude save) and isn't subject to ability damage, I didn't see anything preventing it from being sickened or staggered. Round 6 officially comes to an end. Round 7 begins now.

Cyborg Shadow Warrior

With each of the two remaining converted Nikumu eyeing their respective targets, both react in the same manner as they silently reload their hand crossbows before aiming and firing.

Move Action: reload hand crossbow
Standard Action: fire hand crossbow

Cyborg Shadow Warrior 1 hand crossbow attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27; +2 to attack, directed at Rocnork
bolt damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2; DC 13 Fortitude save due to drow poison
Cyborg Shadow Warrior 1 hand crossbow attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16; +2 to attack, directed at Kyt
bolt damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3; DC 13 Fortitude save due to drow poison

I've been neglecting Rocnork's enveloping winds elemental defense, so I will roll it here:

enveloping winds check for the previous round: 1d100 ⇒ 23; the damage taken stands
enveloping winds check for this round: 1d100 ⇒ 54

Rocnork Fortitude save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28; -2 due to Wounded threshold

The sand that floats around him is sluggish and fails to react as another dart hit the wyvaran, sticking and stinging Rocnork as it fills him with its poison. Meanwhile, Kyt manages to bring up her blue crystal sword and bat aside the tiny poison-laced bolt.

Rocnork
Feeling unsteady, the wyvaran turned his attention to converted that has been shooting the poisoned darts at him. With a guttural growl, Rocnork raises his hands and calls upon the sand particles to assist him in taking down this pest.

sand blast: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16; - 2 due to Wounded threshold
sand blast damage: 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 4, 1) + 7 = 17

However, the poison, combined with the wounds he has received, causes Rocnork's aim to be off as the sand blast misses his target.

Rocnork sustains 2 damage, and is Wounded with 19 hit points.

This ends the first of two posts.

Cybernetic Servant
Still reeling from the shot dealt to it by Liesel-Marie, the cybernetic servant tries to perform a simple diagnostic check to figure out what is causing the disruption of its electronic processes. Anything more than that will leave it at the mercy of this unrelenting organic. As it is, it needed to defend itself to ensure that it can carry out the directive given to it by the cyborg processor.

And so the cybernetic servant transforms the tools it was using back into hands before moving in unsteadily to batter Liesel-Marie with its newly formed fists.
Full-Attack Action: slam attack against Liesel-Marie

Cybernetic Servant 2 slam attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7; -3 due to Critical threshold, -2 due to being staggered
slam damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

The cybernetic servant clasps both hands together and reels back before swinging its fists at the Erutaki's midsection. However, much to its dismay, the blow bounces off the well-toned abdominals of Liesel-Marie with no effect.

Liesel-Marie's first "no-sell". That poor construct... ;)

The cyborg processor sustains 8 points of acid damage, for a total of 110, and is Wounded. It takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks, as well as to AC and caster level.

Cyborg Processor
Having failed to bring Kyt under its control, the cyborg processor snakes out a tendril toward a new target:

Tsadok.

It opens up the nozzle and unleashes a new stream of strange fluid at the grey-skinned half-orc.
Standard Action: spray nanite stream at Tsadok

Cyborg Processor Nanite Stream: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26; ranged touch attack, -2 due to Wounded threshold
Rounds entranced: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Fully doused with the alien substance, Tsadok can feel it actively moving on his skin, even going so far as to insinuate itself beneath. As the infinitesimally tiny creatures contained within the fluid make their way through his body, they have but one destination: the half-orc's mind. Once there, they attach themselves to different portions of his brain and begin to issue commands that overwrite his sense of self. And though he tries his best to resist, the numbers become too much for him to fight on his own.

Walk.

What could possibly be wrong with that? Such a simple thing.

Walk.

I need a DC 17 Will save from Tsadok. If he fails, he will be entranced for 1 round, unable to take actions other than moving his normal speed toward the cyborg processor, at which point he stops and stands helpless.

Bosco
The transformed carbuncle continues attacking the cyborg processor with its tail.
Full-Attack Action: attack the cyborg processor

Animus tail attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
tail damage: 3d6 + 12 ⇒ (5, 1, 6) + 12 = 24

With yet another spin in place, the creature lashes out with its powerfully muscled tail, eyes flaring with a pale blue light as the gem-like club leaves a new crater on the surface of the machine.

The cyborg processor has sustained 24 points of damage, for a total of 134, and is Critical. It takes a –3 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks, as well as to AC and caster level. The map has been updated. Next up is Nyym.
