And I'm done.

![]() |

And we're off! I'm about to make my first post. Just a bit of warning. Yndra is somewhat unhinged and can be a bit of a crone. Don't worry, her bark is worse than her bite. If her comments or behavior in any way lessens your fun of the game, please let me know and I'll dial it down. She has a warm side as well. :)

GM supervillan |

I think Uncle Julius will be fun :)
Could you update your profile / character sheet please U.J? It's missing a bunch of stuff like spells known, revelation etc. Ta.

GM supervillan |

I have reported this game, per VC request.
I'll update the report once we actually finish, at which point I'll also do boon rolls since we are under the Online Support Program.

GM supervillan |

Apologies for not posting yesterday, the site maintenance outage coincided with my one opportunity.

![]() |

UJ; if you have any desire to keep playing your character I have boons and wealth I can throw in to help get you back on your feet. I'll be switching over to 2nd edition and so I'm 100% willing to bankrupt this character to get you back on your feet.

GM supervillan |

You can buy raise dead using 16 PP, 5,450 gp, or 8 PP and
2,450 gp.
You can also use the 10% one-off discount boon from this scenario towards the cost of the material component (5000gp diamond).

![]() |

Count me in for raising you back.
I can pay my share.
That was a real tough fight and the tactics indicate the author doesn't like small chars....

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I have a Debt to Society boon, if someone can use it. Been collecting dust in a binder for 5 years. =)
Basically, if someone has 20 fame, and at least 4 prestige points, they can pay for a raise dead for someone else (or themselves) ... even if they don't have the prestige... they just get their future prestige points garnished 'til they pay off the difference.

![]() |

We'll surely have enough resources for the rez, but how do we go about it? Return to the city nowadays to fix Julius, so that he can continue the scenario? Or should that be done afterwards?

GM supervillan |

Whilst you don't have a huge amount of time to complete your assigned mission - the Roidirans are causing trouble in Qaharid right now - you can certainly afford a day or two delay.
If you return, you will be able to attend the Grand Temple of Sarenrae with no fuss - and even get an audience with Amal al-Sahba, who is capable of casting Raise Dead.
So you'll need to agree how to pay for the Raise, and potentially any Restoration spells too.
One 10% discount from the scenario can be spent on the Raise Dead. If you pay for the spell with gold alone, you can take 10% off the 5450 price tag. If Uncle Julius pays 8 prestige the whole party can split the 2450 gold cost between you, and one PC can spend the 10% discount on that cost.
Restorations to remove the two negative levels cost 4PP or 1280gp each. One PC can spend their 10% discount on each casting if they wish, as long as they contribute to the cost.

![]() |

I have 1300 gp and 15 Prestige, so I can contribute my share of the gold for the raise and either or both restorations with PP.

![]() |

You can't pool prestige points to purchase things... So one person would have to pay all 16... also, they are for use on the PC spending them, not other PC's (as per the guide, page 23)
The boon I mentioned is the first time I saw the ability to spend prestige on someone else in this way.
Hmm.. also have a Personal Physician boon... will have to look up what that allows.

GM supervillan |

Mr G is correct about spending Prestige Points, they're your individual cache with your faction.
But you can pool gold.

![]() |

OK, I have 21 Fame and 15 Prestige, so with Graves' boon and 8 PP from Julius for restorations. Then we'd be set, right?

GM supervillan |

That looks good to me Yndra.
Note that there is a limit of one Restoration per week for removing permanent negative levels, so UJ could get one removed immediately upon raising from the dead, and the second one during downtime.
There are no more giant lizards in the scenario.

![]() |

I can pay with Gold. I'll regain the gold back via adventures so no worries.

![]() |

Fair enough. Then we'll just continue and collect Julius on the way back?

GM supervillan |

The only way to peacefully bypass the phantoms in the current encounter (barring doing something like entering the mine under mass invisibility) is if a spiritualist (or other PC with a phantom) chooses to replace their phantom with Zarisha. Since this is a permanent change to the character it's a difficult choice to make.
Speaking the passphrase debuffs the phantoms, so it's not too harsh of a combat.

GM supervillan |

By the way, are any of you planning on using these characters in the upcoming Gameday? This scenario has an optional encounter later that I'm happy to skip to make sure that we're done in time.

![]() |

I won't use this character in the gameday. Regardless, it's still well over a month before it starts. I have the feeling we've made some ground in the scenario already, and should still be on track?
