Waiting for her moment, Adonara slips around Bran hoping to get on the other side of Ungol-Pagh. It’s a tight squeeze, though, and it’s been a while since she’s done this sort of dancing.
Expect to get hit. Roll with it, she encourages herself. Acrobatics to avoid AoO, vs. CMD: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Bracing for the worst, she rounds the other side of the shifted tiefling and lunges through the claw she fully expects may be waiting for her. Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 Damage if hits: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7 and+: 1d6 ⇒ 3 , for a total of 10 if the the beggar's lawful.
Tracking: 7 more rounds blessing/pool.

I think his last post might actually have been for this round, and he just happened to post ahead of Ragnar?
Oops. My bad, folks.
Bachu
Bachu tries to bring the man (?) down.
Flurry 1 Stunning Fist DC 14 Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Flurry 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Oh, no worries, I should think. The ebb and flow of complex combats are just trickier to keep track of by play-by-post.
Ragnar Grudgebearer
Will get something up later today.
Ragnar Grudgebearer
Looking at the map, I cannot get back to the main fight, but I will move back towards the fight.
Cursing slightly under his breath for getting so far from his partners, Ragnar swims back towards the fight.
Lady give me the foresight needed for this fight

Last round, I went right after Ragnar, so, I'm going to guess I should again . . ..
Not liking the options he seems to have been provided, Til fires and then reloads the crossbow.
Hand Crossbow w/ melee and cover: 1d20 + 9 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 9 - 4 - 4 = 3
Piercing: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Yeah, about that . . .. Dicebot really loves Til, hunh?
Ragnar Grudgebearer
Til, I usually have the same issues
Fulk the Red
Fulk fires a rapid flurry of acidic bolts at the nearest skum. Switching to the next one in line if I kill one.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Acid Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Crit?
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Acid Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Acid Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

He now cannot cast any spells that require a somatic or material component. Attempts to cast a spell (or spell-like ability) without somatic or material components require a concentration check of 28+(spell level).

Adonara takes another elusive step back to make room for Pellius between herself and Bran, thinking it might be safer for the more cautious fighter now that Bran is holding down the sahuagin leader.
As she goes, she takes advantage of the opening the shifter provides and carefully thrusts at Ungol-Pagh even while Bran grapples him.
Sneak attack, flanking with Bachu to boot?: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 2 = 12 Even beyond that, Ungol-Pagh takes a -4 to AC for being pinned, and loses any Dex bonus. So maaayyybe...
Damage?: 1d6 + 1 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 + (2, 6) = 12
She takes what advantage from the situation that she can, but her concern to avoid running through all the way into Bran rather blunts her attack. Pellius will have to show her how it's done, I guess.
Bachu
Bachu tries to put the leader out.
Flurry 1 Stunning Fist DC 14 Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Flurry 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27 Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

“Well, he didn’t gloat along the lines of, ‘You’ll never find your cousins, elf!’ so hopefully poking around a bit will turn them up without too much trouble,” Adonara bubbles, taking the magic that’s currently sustaining her breath in stride. She nods her thanks to the others for making quick work of the skum leader, resisting the urge to pet the shifted Bran’s fur. Besides, wet cats aren’t half as much fun, even when they’re not actually her sapient friends, which would only make it still more awkward.
“I think we passed a turning or two as they led us here, so checking those might be a place to start,” she suggests. Before she sets off back down the corridor to the first branch off, she does give the room and Ungol-Pagh’s body a quick scan for signs of anything hidden or otherwise useful, both with a mundane once-over, and with a cantrip to check for any obvious magic. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Fulk the Red
As Adonara checks the leader, Fulk casts Detect Magic and checks the other dead skum.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Ragnar Grudgebearer
I might have blurred past a description, but what are they using for weapons?
Bran Elberion
Bran, understanding the limitations of his hellcat form, prowls the area, watching out for further threats. ”The skum leader was waiting for something, maybe someone. There may be greater threats.”
Ragnar Grudgebearer
Agreed. but for now, lets just deal with the issues that we have right now.
Ragnar swims over to the back of the party.
If they are using tridents, I will grab one for use.
Ragnar Grudgebearer
I will hold the tools and ring for right now.
As well, I can make use of a trident while we are under the water.
Ragnar puts actions to words, unless someone else stops him.
Literally, I will just act as a pack mule carrying those, and will carry anything else that is we need to carry right now.
Fulk the Red
"I could make good use of the headband and wand. The amulet should go to one of our valiant melee specialists."
Bran Elberion
Bran tilts his head and turns it to take in the group, "Bachu has one. Give the amulet to Ragnar."
Bran will be looking for an AoMF soon enough, so it's better that it goes where it will remain.
Bachu
Bachu picks up a trident for underwater use and says, "Yes, let Ragnar have the amulet."
Ragnar Grudgebearer
Appreciated, and I will make good use of it.
Ragnar picks up the amulet and snakes it over his head.
Will have stats updated later today

“I don’t suppose any of you gentlemen are much for engineering?” Adonara asks, giving the valve a dubious glance before stashing it away for safekeeping. “I know I’m certainly not, but I suppose we’ll worry about that once we see what the pumps are like. One can always hope they won’t be all that complicated.”
Oh, interesting, she thinks, spotting the rod. That might be amusing, if we can think of the right way to use it.
“Right,” she says, straightening, taking Til’s advice and drifting back down the passage to look down the side-branch to the north. She gives the rod a playful twirl as she goes, and it spins slowly through the water and around her hand.
If she doesn't spot anything amiss, she'll plunge on ahead to the next room that opens up.
Ragnar Grudgebearer
Adonara, I have been known to dabble in engineering.
As he pockets the ring.
I think we might be able to do something with the pumps with this though.
Ragnar then glides through the water at the back of the party keeping an eye on things.
Bran Elberion
Hearing the splashing, Bran stops for a moment, forcing the whole group to pause as he is in the front.
The hellcat’s voice rumbles out, ”We are not fishmen. Perhaps we can drain this place before we risk any more fighting?”
Ragnar Grudgebearer
Perhaps. But the first trick will be to find the pumps
Fulk the Red
"The man's got a point."
Adonara Strixis
|
Adonara tamps down her frivolity as she considers the paths before her and the others’ words. “I’m sure it would take ages to drain this place appreciably, unless the pumps are beyond exceptional, but there’s no harm in being cautious and trying to get started, at least, before confronting anything else that might be roaming around down here.”
“Why don’t we head north first, and if we find the pumps, so much the better, or the prisoners. And if not, then we can head west, see what’s splashing around, and perhaps the original smugglers’ tunnels, for another way out, before turning to the rest of this place.”
With that, she bobs quietly on ahead to the passage north, hoping that whatever’s to the west is far enough away and uninterested to look the immersed Ravens’ way as they pass north across the tributary that divides the largest space of the flooded level.

The Unquenchable Fire burns even below, Adonara thinks piously and hopefully as she spots the wall of holes. Is this where things are supposed to drain?
The levels between the channel west and the stairs leading to the late, unlamented leader of the skum, &c., &c., are a bit tricky for her to put together mentally, but she thinks that sounds possible. She motions Ragnar over with quiet excitement, “What do you think? Could this be where that valve we found goes? And could we patch things up from this side?”
She considers the holes carefully, trying to spot any missing a ring of the size of the group found, and taking a closer look at the runes on the rings in place, trying to sort out what they mean - or do. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
If this is some sort of magical pump array, I’m not sure what the appropriate roll would be. Use Magic Device? Disable Device? (Hopefully being able to reverse the steps, to get it working again? ;) )
Tilorean Vashnarstill
"Wnt me to give that a shot?" Til asks after seeing Adonara looking at the ring and the wall of holes, obviously trying to figure out how to fix the system.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 31 +2 if the Thieves' Tools can help.
Daniel Penfold 351
Tilorean, after looking around for several minutes you are able to see where the valve fits into the series of valve rings and pumps. It is clear that the valves are separate from the pump itself but looking through a gap in the valves you can see the pump room beyond. You are confident that you have repaired the valves, now it only reamins to go to the other room to activate the pump.
Ragnar Grudgebearer
Well with a solid grasp of engineering, I can assert that this valve ring does fit on those
Sorry I didn't post yesterday. The day grabbed me and said I needed to pay attention.

Adonara floats back a bit to give Ragnar and Tilorean room to work, settling in to look on. “I love work,” she murmurs, trivially, “I could watch people work all day.” I can’t take credit for the quip: that is Wilde, isn’t it?
Despite her nonchalance, she does watch carefully, keep an eye out for what to look for so she can improve her own skills, since so far she’s more of a dabbler in mechanical things.
“Thank you, gentlemen,” she says, bobbing into an odd submarine curtsey as they finish the job, before looking for a way to get to the side with the controls: a hatch or another way out of this room, or if the group will have to backtrack to the flooded hall from which they were first escorted.
