Undermountain, a gargantuan dungeon complex beneath the jewel of the Realms, Waterdeep! It is a place of adventure, danger, mystery, and according to at least one well-known sage, "the largest mass grave in Faerun." Can you survive the secrets and mysteries of Undermountain? Varis continues up to the top corridor and finds that it turns to the east, continuing from that point on. Before the turn, however, another corridor intercepts from the east and this one seems to be filled with mirrors, as your lights are reflected crazily about within the corridor.

Fornitado stands transfixed by his reflection for a second when he is surprised to see a shadowy figure step out of the mirror and assume an attack pose! Down the hall, the party sees other shadowy figures emerging from other mirrors as well.

Seeing more shadowy figures emerging from the gloom, Kertak utters a prayer of blessing before stepping forward to meet the oncoming threat.

Cast bless at second level - myself, Urgat, Fornitado and Elise all gain 1d4 to all attack rolls and saves. First round of concentration.

Thinking of the first thing that hops into his mind. Fornitado takes a step back, and reaches out with a bolt of the chaos of creation.

Kertak casts bless as Fornitado throws a chaos bolt at the nearest creature, but the bolt misses its target by mere inches. Ulgat meets with more success, his weapons passing through the shadowy figure, disrupting its essence. The figure fades out of existence. The remainder of the figures surge forward, grasping at Kertak, but neither of the two in the lead manages to connect.

The party is up! Varis, I have your move.

Varis hurries back to the fight, as Elise moves into position and launches an attack of her own, her opponent dissipating into nothingness. Fornitado blasts one of the figures with a magic missile, but while it is disrupted, it yet comes forward. Kertak stands, confused and making a target of himself as Ulgat steps forward, slashing with the hammer and pick and sending another of the figures to the realm of non-existence. The two remaining figures continue their mindless attacks, one targeting Kertak and the other Elise. Kertak feels the creature brush against him, and the chill of the grave sweeps over him. Kertak takes 8 necrotic damage, and 1 point of Strength damage. Elise's opponent misses her.

The party is up!

Varis rounds the corner just as the last Shadow creature is dispatched. "Glad to see you have the situation under control." Varis moves down the hall to discover it connects back to the intersection they had been in before.

"Looks like we were on the other end of this hallway already. I will go back where I was exploring before."

Varis moved back north of the mirror room to continue his examination of the hallway there.

No, a few burned torch stubs and discarded potion bottles suggest that adventurers stop here from time to time, perhaps to rest. The room is otherwise empty.

Varis moved quietly back to the group. His invisibility finally wearing off he appeared next to everyone discussing the mirrors in the hallway. Varis whispered ”There is nothing but a room to rest around the north corner, and it appears this hallway leads back to where we started. We could either go back to this intersection and pick a different route or check another hallway to the south where we just were.”

South seems to be the direction of choice, so I have moved you back to the last area where you had a decision of which way to go.

The party backtracks to the last intersection, the room with the headless statue. The only way that you haven't been is through the double doors to the east.
