YAY! Welcome to the game, hope you will all have fun. I'm playing / have played with most of you, but probably not in this orientation. I am looking forward to a good scenario.

Have been looking forward to this scenario since it was first announced.
Thank-you for running!

Eadie charges in to hug Dunia and Fendel. “Sorry, Dunia. I know you don’t like being touched – but it’s like a Big Family Reunitation!”
"Except unlike most family gatherings, it's in H℥ll!"

Rudzik just watches from the wall he's currently leaning against. "Everyone here?" he asks gruffly.

Will there be time for shopping after the briefing, or should we turn up with everything we think we're gonna need, GM ScorchedOne?
@Rudzik, I was going to buy an oil of align weapon for your bow. Are you OK with that?
Rudzik

That’s very kind of you to offer, Eadie, but Rudzik is planning to grab another himself (since it’s for his weapon). He’ll also be snagging more of those holy arrows for good measure.

Side note, chaotic good follower of Abadar?
Eadie’s backstory is tied strongly to Abadar. Her mother (who died in childbirth) was a paladin of the Faith. And despite her non-lawful nature, she was dragged along to Temple every holy day by her ultra-lawful Aunt, who would not take ‘no’ for an answer.
She was ‘made’ to work in the Golden Vault. She hated it. She rebelled against the Faith and her Aunt. They fought like cats-and-dogs about it. Then her Aunt died in an accident. Eadie pretended to blame Abadar while deep down she blamed HERSELF.
Eadie tried running away from Abadar and her guilt by joining the Pathfinder Society. On her first mission, Eadie believes Abadar found her again. She thinks Abadar saved the life of one of her dying companions, and so she decided to give Him a second chance.
Does Eadie understand the tenets of the Faith? Is she truly a believer? Does Abadar think of Eadie as one of his flock? Did the dice god save her companion? Possibly … quite possibly not.
But Eadie thinks He did and is very thankful to Him. Is she a pious, credit card-carrying, one-step-removed, money-hungry WORSHIPPER of the Master of the First Vault? Nope.
But does this crazy, lovable, murderous agent of Chaos maintain an unlikely but undeniable LINK with the Celestial Zillionaire of Zillionaires? I think so. And man, it’s been fun to watch it develop ;)
In game terms, she’s a “Reverer” not a “Worshipper” and doesn’t get any mechanical benefits from worshipping Abadar.

Oh no worries! Feel free to ask me about my characters anytime ;)
It’s interesting what you say about Abadar being a chilled dude. I met Vic Wertz, who has Abadar as his avatar at paizocon last year (I met Fendel there too!)
Vic was unassuming, chilled and very easy to talk too. From his interactions with customers on the boards you can tell he’s a solid, successful businessman – but the business is about quality and fun first – not greed.

I feel like Abadar aside from being LN is still kind of a chill bro. He just wants everybody to be in balance.
I was always inclined to see him more as "God of the 1%," personally - and anyone well-familiar with both the Nuremberg Trials and Monty Python's "Vocational Guidance Counselor" sketch should understand why I've sometimes been inclined to think that if there truly is a "worst alignment of all", LN is it (I hate how Paizo pegged Thoth as LN - I say as fine a specimen of NG is rare indeed).

lol
Fendel is a very chilled family person, with a sense of humor eerily similar to mine ;)

What exactly would it mean for us to sell our souls/emotions/fates/etc???
I'm amazed they're seriously letting us do this in this adventure. I'm almost tempted to give it a whirl. It would be simultaneously 'very Lucija' and 'very non-Lucija' to do....
Lucija Lal Rani
|
So, how much gold does everyone have? Why can't we just pool our money and make the sale?
I have just over 9,000 - but not 10,000 - in raw lucre.
Dunia Mbani

If you count diamond dust I'm sitting at ~10k, but I'm also essentially out of prestige, so that's all potential resurrection fund for now.
If we need to come back and buy the soul that's one thing, but I think pursuing another lead makes sense for now.
Lucija Lal Rani
|
Oh, do they all (potentially) lead to the same end? I'd missed that.
Speaking of which, any reason I can't (or shouldn't) buy my 1/scenario Dark Archive-discounted scroll about now?
Eadie Navhelan

I've got ~3400 gp, but I'm not sure I want to spend some of it this way.
Maybe Zarta is desperate enough?
I think we should try another lead -- maybe the gnome as Ando said?
Ando Gallonica

I have just over 2000gp available but I would rather we checked out other possible leads first.

I'm a little confused in light of the DM's response, but sure.

I think each is a differrent thread we can follow in order to find out what is going on. We can always come back to the Hag, we have 2 days after all.

Surely you jest; Warcraft Gnomes don't hold a clockwork candle to PATHFINDER Gnomes.
Our lives are like the premise of '000s action-flick Crank; if they ever get boring, we DIE!

I actually played a gnome wizard (fire and arcane spec) up to 105 back in the day. But, it has been a few years.

LOL, I love that analogy.

So, what would happen if I tried to conjure a devil or other native Hellion while here?
Obstacles? Alterations? Risks? Benefits? Hijinx?
| ScorchedOne |
No worries for a native hellion here. Also your Thaumaturgic Circle doesn't prevent their entering as I read it, it acts like Magic Circle Against Evil, which means if these were summoned they couldn't enter, but they're on their native plane. They have no issues. I've factored it into the armor classes of affected individuals, but I don't believe it would otherwise impede them.

Who is in the coffee-colored round border north of Fendel?
Also is that a round chasm beneath the flaming pentacle?
