Linguistics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Mathos floats to his assigned translation task. With his characteristic air of aristocratic superiority he arogantly assumes that the task is beneath him and manages to confuse the words for Official and Pineapple. This is further compounded when a slip of the tongue turns an invitation to dinner into a proposition of a mature nature.

Shayna glides between the masses as she watches for trouble. Upon seeing Phlegos, she casually walks over i his direction and whispers in his ear.
Do be on your best behaviour tonight. I will not hesitate to bounce your sorry hide out on the street like a common bum. she says and smiles as she withdraws.

Phlegos is a touch shaken by Shayna's straightforwardness. He had been pre-occupied before being approached.
Some time after Shayna's interruption, Phlegos comes across Wulessa Yuul.
The two venture-captains, Phlegos Dulm and Wulessa Yuul, stare each other down, not bothering to hide their hatred for each other. “Two more of my servants were attacked, Dulm” Wulessa says, her eyes burning with indignation. “I won’t let you get away with this.”
“There’s nothing you can do to stop me,” Phlegos replies. “This city needs only one venture-captain.” The two stare each other down for a few more seconds before they both abruptly turn, not even looking at each other as they make their way to opposite ends of the room.

Shayna does get the sense that Phlegos is preoccupied and uncomfortable.

![]() |

Shayna winds her way through the crowd until she gets next to Roderus. She leans in and whispers to him.
Phlegos is up to something. He is on edge. I can't put my finger on it...but tell the others.

Serve Food: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Zeta walks up to Wulessa and quietly asks, "I heard two of your agents have fallen... some pathfinders are on your side... what are you going to do?" - and hands her a glass, as if pretending that just serves her.
Bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Some may be on her side, but Zeta doesn't care. For now anyway.

Handle Animal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Vandelaria was unsure of her ability around animals. Would they be spooked by her weird nature? But after she gets a few pointers from the more experienced hands things go rather smoothly for her. If you were watching her, you'd almost think she'd done this before.
The ganzi gunslinger overhears any conversations from the guests as they come in, she wonders if she can piece together who is on which side.

"I don't believe that our chicken Parmesan can be made vegan, sir," Jikma explains to the visting Iroran priest, "But I'll see what else we're serving that you can ingest."
She actually kind of enjoyed being a waitress, though she had never done anything like it.
When she has a moment, she will approach the goblin, and inquire about what he wants here at a party for Pathfinders.

" You will surely not stand, crossed hands, and wait for things to be solved by others. " adds Edwin to Wulessa.

Those are all great, :)
Dougle is satisfied enough with your performance to make sure you earn your pay this evening.
Zeta's comments to Wulessa prompt an unexpected response...
Laying it on a little thick, no? Roderus always hires his little spies for these sorts of things. I guess if he's concerned with our conflict, I'll tell you: Phlegos is up to no good. He's after my people and a dangerous character. Take that to your bee keeper. Wulessa stomps back to the bar for more ale.

![]() |

- As you wish.
Zeta sees her off with a long look and a cold smile of an indifferent servant. After some thought, she would follow Wulessa's advice, so after a little circling around the room and handing out drinks, she will go to Roderus and tell him what Wulessa said.

It seems they are in a worse relationship than we considered. Phlegos Dulm has a personal accountant who lives and works at his potion shop, which doubles as the Pathfinder Society’s Kotargo Lodge. If we are to uncover Phlegos's treachery, you may find evidence in his books. Go there and see what you can find. We can cover for you here. Do NOT, however, destroy anything. I cannot risk your discovery. Roderus waves Dougle over to see about caretaking the rest of the festivities.
...
Like the Winding Road Inn, the Kotargo Lodge serves two different functions; Phlegos Dulm’s potion shop is in the front, while the warehouse that doubles as the Kotargo Lodge is in the back.
The main storefront of the Kotargo Lodge contains shelves stuffed with potions, unguents, and bottles of various questionable substances. A lone goblin minds the storefront, sweeping around the counter.

Vandelaria was hanging out in the stables. Are we all assumed to be together at this point?

Vandelaria enters the shop under the guise of a potential customer. She looked around the shop, seeing if she could spot any unusual reagents or concoctions.

The female goblin takes her place at the counter and is slightly taken aback at your politeness. Welcome, welcome. I am Lobda, at your service. Was there something in particular you were looking for? We offer quite the variety.

![]() |

Zeta will not enter into the conversation immediately, giving the situation a more natural look. "Let's have a little chat about different stuff, and then get down to business." After waiting, she as if inadvertently say:
- I heard Phlegos Dulm is about to become the new Venture Captain. Is he? Don't you know... does he need some help? I would very much like to be friends with such an important man after his exaltation. Like all my friends, too.
Bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 oh again

Turning to Jikma, Why yes it is! You find yourself in Phlegos Dulm's storefront. The warehouse behind us is the lodge proper. There is a celebration for Venture Captain Roderus's retirement party down the way. I would have thought all available pathfinders would be attending. Noting Shayna's request, But I see you are gearing up for a mission? Something quite exciting if you be missing the old man's party.
Zeta's suggestion is puzzling to Lobda, I have heard no such firm news but that would be quite the boon for Phlegos. Yes, we would all like to be his friend, I imagine.

Mathos gathers the group together outside the shop. Lobda isn't sure about Phlegos. Did anyone else sense that?

![]() |

- Yes. I am. For sure... Bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 Khmm... Do you have a plan?
Zeta constantly squints at the sun, as if it dazzles her more than the others. It's pretty hard to understand emotions on her face at times like this. But her voice sounds confident and it seems she is determined to act decisively, tired of waiting and hanging around.

![]() |

Lobda stops you from proceeding to the warehouse. Excuse me but do you have a reason to enter the lodge? You really should be at the party, shouldn't you? I'll assume your dialogue is private.

![]() |

"And what business is it of yours? We were asked to come here and retrieve something."

![]() |

Lobda responds to Vandeleria, I am apprentice to Tistin Snive, the lodge accountant. I have oversight into much that goes on here. How can I be of service?

![]() |

I don't know what to say to this goblin.
Mathos takes a moment out from looking round the shop. What do you know of Yuul? We are Pathfinders and so have in interest in knowing about the people who may be giving us missions in the future and their dispoition

Lobda considers your question, Wulessa Yuul has been quite the thorn in Phlego's side for some time. At present you are as likely to be contracted by Phlego or Wulessa as they both operate as Venture Captains in Katapesh.

![]() |

- It certainly is. She does not specify what exactly she agrees with. In that case, could you take a little look inside?
Slightly smiling she looks at the goblin.
- I think it's great that this Lodge is so progressive that it gives goblins equal rights and opportunities. In many places it would be impossible, but not here. I'm sure you're doing an excellent job of breaking down stereotypes about your people.
The smile grows wider.
- So, could we take a look around?

Lobda blushes as much as a goblin can partly by flattery, partly by what seems like guilt. Well, yes. This has been quite the opportunity. I have family employed throughout town and this is an excellent posting. What is it you are looking for exactly? Like I said, Phlegos and many others are at the celebration.

![]() |

That is an option. She may have access herself and can be convinced....?

![]() |

Hey, Lobda. You say you have books. Would you mind if we took a look at them?
Mathos is using his most schmoozy voice here.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Lobda stops in her tracks a minute. She is about to rebuke the suggestion when she nearly breaks down. It has been rather difficult to work here. I see what the Venture Captain has been up to and it is not what I believe the society should be doing. I will help you if you can get a message to my cousin Zig. Just let him know I'm safe. If you would promise to do so, I'll forget you were here. Lobda feels like a weight was lifted. Take these books, it's not everything but should give you some idea of what Phlegos was up to. The rest, you'll have to get from Yigrig, the accountant. He is deep in the warehouse. To get past the guards you'll need the password, "break through". That's all I can provide you with.
You've obtained partial evidence from Lobda for proof against Phlegos.

You are a great help, Lobda. Thanks.assuming i am able to buy the 2 things I was after earlier...the ice and the holy weapon balm. I wasn't getting updates for this game for some reason. good thing i checked...weirs...

"Thank you! We will get a message to your cousin Zig." says Edwin.
"Guys, I think we should go to warehouse."

The party makes its way into the warehouse with no other interaction from Lobda. Lined along the northern wall of this warehouse is a series of cages with locking doors, similar to small prison cells. A few rough types are cleaning up the cages and floors of the warehouse.
