Hello all. I originally grabbed the wrong link, the other session of this game. :)

My character is currently stuck in a game that's been running here since the beginning of December but we are very close to the end. We should be done soon so I can update the character. If we are not done by game start.. I don't know, will have to play a pregen or something.

Compucast is a ranged type. Happy buffing allies weapons preferably, but also happy to go toe-to-toe with claws. Not that he is good at it, but he does enjoy it.

In a conventional sense no, but there is a starship-related event that requires traditional roles.

Question. I have 5 feet to go and I'll hit a rock. I think what'll happen is I make an acrobatics check to stop, with +4 from boot clamps. Then I can push in another direction and go 10 more feet. Is that right?

Also I just realized I've only been taking one move action this whole time, I assume I could've been making double moves.

Correct, that's how you would resolve changing direction when you make impact. And actually I don't think you can make a double move unless you have a means of propulsion.

You know that does make sense on the double move. It also makes sense that if the whole round is spent moving it would be a double move. Zero g is weird. I'll continue doing one move action though.

Energy weapons for the most part are unaffected. Kinetic weapons I'm not sure about, I'd have to dig deep into the CRB.

Only rule on weapons in zero gravity I could find is:

Weapons: Thrown weapons have their range increments multiplied by 10 in zero-g. In addition, all ranged weapons no longer have a maximum number of range increments—their wielders simply continue to accrue penalties the farther away the target is.

Seems they left a few things either out to keep them simple or up to table variation..there's also no rules for using a fire extinguisher to propel yourself forward in space...clearly an oversight ;).
But it doesn't seem like you can shoot yourself forward through space..or hit someone with something and push them away (unless it would also do that in normal gravity environments)

And since it takes an thrown item of 4 bulk (2 for small races) to get rid of the off kilter penalty and the weapons section doesn't mention you move in the opposite direction of your thrown weapon..I think weapon attacks just keep your stable in your current position..which is odd for a swung heavy hammer in melee in actual space I think..but you know...magic/science

moving this conversation here.

re-reading the zero-G stuff... it is pretty poorly written.

I think that it is trying to say that you can move at full speed for a DC20 check... but doesn't say what you can move without that check.

So, with that.. I think Thorval is stuck on the back side of that wall until I can roll a 13+ on the dice (from what I see, the boots won't help in that check.).

That doesn't seem appropriate, but I guess we'll go with it.
