As the others rush ahead, Lunevi then checks on the other downed enemy. He'd called out to the woman, hadn't he? She wasn't quite sure what he'd said, though... She checked on him, determining his status before attempting to apply first aid (if necessary).

I think we're going to officially go out of initiative at this point. If you'd like, you will be able to keep the other Ulfen from dying. No need to worry about rolling, he's far enough away from death that he might stabilize on his own, like his sister did.

The Balrog steps forward and fishes the book out of the fire, which is not nearly hot enough to give him more than an unpleasant tingle in his skin. Written on the wooden cover of the book you can make out the words Mizravrtta Brahmodya in Vudrani script.

This is a relic from when there were faction missions, but if you need to get a uniquely named text for a faction mission, this would technically qualify.

The two Ulfen warriors are both unconscious but stable. Searching them quickly reveals that they both bear a striking resemblance to each other and are almost certainly siblings. Their sword and battle axe are well made but not exceptional weapons. The female warrior is dressed in a light chain shirt, but the heavy wooden round shield she was wielding is exceptionally well crafted and balanced. On the other hand, the male warrior's shield is unremarkable but the full suit of chainmail under his winter clothing is masterfully made, with brass buttons that have been decorated with elaborate runes. Among them, you also find a potion of cure light wounds, a handful of gold coins, two pairs of iron cleats, a light and heavy crossbow and 19 crossbow bolts. Both warriors also have brass badges with a snake motif on them; clearing marking them as confirmed agents of the Aspis Consortium.

Besides the potion, none of the gear found in this room has an aura of magic about it.

This room appears to be a shrine to an obscure Vudrani goddess.

At Nirion's mention of the Vudran god, Lunevi takes a moment to consider her own knowledge of the god before shrugging and returning to the matter at hand."Should we try to wake them? They may have some more information and Aram Zey did suggest we question at least one of them."

If given the opportunity, she'll also snag a crossbow bolt to replace the one she'd lost shooting at the woman.

If you do want to interogate the Ulfen's, you'll need to either heal them up or use smelling salts on them.

The Balrog is going to be deaf for the next hour. Deafness is annoying, but it's not the worst condition to have. It will effect Perception and initiative checks, and spells will have that 20% failure chance, but it doesn't effect anything else. You will be able to perform without having to make this check.

At this point, everyone in the compound is aware that you're here, so you should expect to be walking into an ambush with fully prepared/buffed enemies. Basically, you should heal and use any minute plus duration buffs you have and put yourself anywhere you want on the map that is currently exposed. Once everyone is ready and in position, we can start the next fight.

Lunevi flinches at the sudden, loud shout, but aside from a quiet Aquan curse, returns to her usual mode of communication with other agents: Common.

"Shall we revive one of them?" Lunevi asks the others carefully. "They may be able to tell us how many of their cohort we can expect to fight, but they could also lie... Or, with something less personal than an ally on the line, they might be willing to tell us their motivations and how they got in." She holds up her wand of cure light wounds as a potential option.

It might be useful, but it might prove to be... less than useful. Her other thought was to simply leave them tied up to be hauled back as potential informants later on, but if that was the case, they'd want to tie them up thoroughly. There was no sense in getting stabbed in the back, after all!

Kala nods agreement. "The hooded one must've told the other Apsis agents we're here. We don't have time to question them or we'll be caught with our pants down. Here. I've got some rope." Kala fishes the rope out of her pack and hogties each one of them. She then cuts off the rope and puts the rest back in her pack. (I assume that takes about 10' of rope, which is marked off on my character sheet.) She then carefully half-carries, half-drags them over to separate, out of sight corners, making sure that they're placed so as not to cause any of their wounds to worsen.

She then calls to Stinky: "Stinky! Heel." Striding around the far corner, she positions herself beside the open doorway, near Salvadore, with Stinky following right at her heels.

As you step into the central courtyard, you can see a large building on your left with a domed roof. As you get closer, you can see that the domed building is carved to look like its a mountain. Around the base of the building every inch of its curved surface is covered with bas relief carvings of winsome apsaras, heroic vanara warriors and avatars of the monkey lord himself.

In stark contrast with the celestial beings carved on the sanctum’s outer walls, a carved throng of evil covers the walls of the courtyard itself—fiendish asuras, great black nagas, and goblinoid hordes are frozen in stone as they besiege the mountain rising from the temple’s center. The entire scene is particularly eerie, as the entire surface of these walls are covered in a thin layer of frost, giving the impression that these two armies were frozen in ice just like the temple looming inside the icebreg above you.

The air is cold but you can hear banging sounds coming from up ahead. As you approach a group of scoundrels approaches you. You see the hooded figure from before, his sickly yellow eyes staring at you from under his hood as he moves towards you with a dagger and short sword in hand. In front of him is a tall, scarred woman with a sap in one hand and a small throwing knife in the other hand. There is also a middle aged man in green robes. In one hand he is holding a young, weary looking fellow by the back of his shirt, holding him in front of him as a human shield. In the other hand he wields a long whip with he cracks in the air above his head. Stalking across the cobblestones next to him is a vicious looking bobcat, which snarls as it sees you.

"Let's get 'em!" the older man screams as he theatrically cracks the whip above his head.

The hooded figure with yellow eyes moves along the side of the domed building. Seeing that Kala still has her defenses down, he flings a dagger at her with a side arm throw. The dagger sinks deep into the huntress's flesh, almost, but not quite, taking her out of the fight with a single well aimed strike.

"Aaagh!" Kala's outcry is a combination of pain and frustrated rage. She just can't get a break. Dropping her pack, she digs out a potion and chugs it.

That dude hurt my Kala! Stinky saw the flash of steel come from the hooded figure and how deeply the dagger pierced his person. Now he's an angry wolverine. Yeah, all the bad guys in this scenario are unique characters with unique stat blocks. I'm using their proper names in the initiative order, but haven't been using them in the descriptions. I'll try to figure out a way to make the descriptions a bit clearer, but I figured out who you wanted to attack based on context.

The Balrog stomps towards the tall Vudrani woman with the sap, shouting unnecessarily loudly. She turns in surprise only to see his blade descend towards her, striking her down. She falls to the ground. Salvadore was readying a ball of force to throw at her, but when he sees the ifrit take her down he readjusts his aim and unleashes it at the rampaging cat.

Meanwhile, the paladin moves closer into the fray, swinging his sword in a wide devastating arc. The cat nimbly dodges as it circles Kala's wolverine and Yagajimoro only sends up a spray of sparks as his swords strikes the cobblestones.

But seriously, that cat did just try to bite his neck, so Stinky was going to attack it anyway. He was already in a bad mood because that dead guy hurt his Kala. Now he's teetering on the edge of a metaphorical precipice, so very close to falling into a rage. Hissing, spitting, and snarling, Stinky lays into the cat with teeth and claws.

It looks like people are forgetting to include all the buffs you have, which right now are bless and inspire courage. This matters, because Yagajimoro and Stinky both had attacks that missed without the buffs included. Make sure you're including these; next time I might *forget* to include them.

And side note to The Balrog, make sure you're keeping track of how many rounds of performance you've used. You're probably going to run out at some point.

Stinky and Yagajimoro finish off the raging feline, with Stinky grabbing the cat and shaking it viciously before clawing it open with one of his claws.

The middle aged spellcaster with the hostage continues casting his spell. A stony creature about 2 feet tall emerges from the cobblestones. The creature swings both of its fists in a wide arc at the nagaji paladin, who raises his shield in time to deflect the slam.

The robed man moves forward, continuing to use his prisoner as cover. He swings his bull whip over his head and then swings it down towards the paladin's legs, attempting to make him lose his footing. The armored paladin falls to the ground with a loud thud, his armor clanging loudly as he finds himself looking up at the bright, yet sunless sky.

At Kala's command, Stinky takes a five foot step around the rock creature so he is opposite his partner. Knowing Kala so well, Stinky anticipates her next command: he attacks the rock that is not a rock, albeit cautiously because he doesn't want to chip a tooth.

Not able to effectively get into this new mess, Lunevi waits to reposition. Given that they're all in some sort of chokehold, she drops her crossbow in favor of her quarterstaff.

Seeing an opportunity, she slides into the opening beside Yagojima and brings her own staff down on the creature attacking Kala.

And of course, provoking all along the way... That's 2 move actions, both of which provoke. Standing up means AoO from elemental. Moving out of threatened for another AoO, if Elemental has Combat Reflexes. And moving through threatened area for whip boy AoO.
