The Ulfen man lifts his crossbow up and fires a heavy bolt at Nirion. Seeing the man ready his crossbow, Yagajimoro lets his arrow fly, which clatters off the doorframe the crossbow man is standing in.

Nirion grunts in pain as the bolt slices through the meat of his thigh, passing clean through and clattering across the ice. After firing the bolt, the Ulfen warrior drops the crossbow to the ground and unslings a shield from off his back.

A large Ulfen woman with dark hair peaking out of her fur lined hood emerges from the door. She stalks across the ice towards Salvadore, banging her bearded axe against a round wooden shield and shouting in Skald. She is wearing spiked iron cleats over her fur covered boots, allowing her to move across the ice with relative ease.

Not sure of the DC for the wand. It's from The Confirmation. I don't think my: Intense Spells (Su): Whenever you cast an evocation spell that deals hit point damage, add 1/2 your wizard level to the damage (minimum +1). This bonus only applies once to a spell, not once per missile or ray, and cannot be split between multiple missiles or rays. This bonus damage is not increased by Empower Spell or similar effects. This damage is of the same type as the spell. comes into effect. Sorry for the trouble.

The DC for the wand of burning hands should still be DC 11. Even though it is level 3, the general rule is that spell storing and spell completion items function as if they were cast by the weakest possible character that could cast the spell, which in this case would be a wizard with 11 INT.

Lunevi's crossbow bolt flies by the barbarian woman's face, barely missing her. As she turns to snarl at the undine, Salvadore springs a wand from his wrist sheathe and aims it at her. She takes a hop backwards and raises her shield to her face, blocking most of the blast.

Hurriedly, Kala pulls Stinky down from the walkway and plops him onto the icy ground at her feet (swift action?). Pointing at the Ulfen woman, she commands: "Stinky, attack!" She then hustles across the ice, readying her light wooden shield as she goes. Clambering up onto the stairs, she plants her feet and glares daggers at the man hiding just around the corner as she deliberately (and somewhat dramatically) draws her cold iron warhammer.

The ledge is ten feet above the ice. It still costs movement to get down, whether Stinky is climbing or jumping down. You would also need to command him to do this, which would be a move action to push him and a DC 25 Handle Animal check, since he doesn't have the "come" trick trained. It would be a free (corrected) action to command him to attack (DC 10, which you can still fail on a 1, or a 3 if he takes hp damage). And then I would say catching him mid air and setting him down would be at least a move action. There's no rules on what action it would be to catch a falling, 50+ lb. wolverine, but I think it would be more than a swift action. Basically, you don't have enough actions to do everything you want to do this round and I don't see a way for Stinky to get to the barbarian without double moving.

Nirion slides across the ice and delivers a slash to the the Ulfen woman's side. She reels in pain but stays on her feet, wounded and enraged.

Yagaji lines up a good shot and fires an arrow into the barbarian's back. She grunts, a look of surprise on her face, and then falls down to her knees. The Ulfen cries "Hildr!" as he sees his sister fall. As his way to Yagaji is now impeded by Kala, he instead draws a stout Viking sword and thrusts it in her direction, running the blade through her abdomen. Kala is grievously wounded, but still manages to hold onto consciousness.

Salvadore: Force Missile does not require an attack roll: it automatically hits. Conversely, Point Blank Shot cannot apply to the damage (because there is no attack roll). It's basically firing a single magic missile. So you hit, for 2 points damage.

The Ulfen warrior grunts as Salvadore's missile buzzes by him, grazing him on the side of the head. The warrior continues to block the doorway, slashing and thrusting at anyone who comes near.

Reeling in pain, and frankly quite surprised that the Ulfen man was able to bypass her shield so easily, Kala falls back behind her comrades to metaphorically lick her wounds. Her pained expression relaxes a little bit after she casts Cure Light Wounds on herself.

With his target down, Stinky looks around for someone else to fight. What he sees instead is his Kala stumbling down the stairs near him, gushing blood from her abdomen. He immediately rushes to her, solicitously nosing in close to lick her wound since she can't reach to lick it herself. What a considerate, caring wolverine he is.

Everyone within the yellow circle needs to make a Fort Save DC 15 or be deafened for 1 hour.

Deafened:
Deafened: A deafened character cannot hear. He takes a –4 penalty on initiative checks, automatically fails Perception checks based on sound, takes a –4 penalty on opposed Perception checks, and has a 20% chance of spell failure when casting spells with verbal components. Characters who remain deafened for a long time grow accustomed to these drawbacks and can overcome some of them.

As the shadowy figure moves behind the Ulfen, the area around him darkens as if the moon eclipsed the sun.

Everyone within the circle is affected as if they were in dim light. If you have low-light vision or darkvision, you are unaffected, but otherwise, you will now have a 20% miss chance due to the poor lighting conditions.

I hate not having enough information, Lunevi thinks with no small amount of aggravation before darting forward. Her allies have the second of their enemies well and truly surrounded, and there's no shooting the man from here without also risking her peers in the process.

Still, this woman - or her friend - might have useful information this time.

Nirion's strikes have trouble penetrating the Ulfen's chain chausesses.
Seeing that he's outmatched, Nirion hops off the steps to let Yagajimoro face the Ulfen, something which both of them seem to want intensely. The Viking does take an opportunistic swipe at the cleric's back as he retreats, slashing a long red stripe across his back. Can't five foot step onto the slippery ice, or difficult terrain in general, so moving does provoke.

Neither enemy appears to understand Lunevi, or choses to pause at what she says. Of course, even if the Ulfen could understand, the loud blast caused by the thunderstone appears to have deafened him.

Unfortunately, while Salvador can see his enchanted ioun stone glow, the light does penetrate what is clearly some form of magical darkness.

Just need Balrog to act and we can move to the next round.

The Balrog belts out a rousing tune, filling everyone with confidence. The Ulfen warrior continues fighting from the top of the steps, slashing downwards at Yagajimoro, who manages to block each blow with his shield.

The figure behind the warrior sees the body of the barbarian lying in a pool of blood one the ice and turns, running back into the complex. Unfortunately, the noise from the thunderstone he threw has probably alerted everyone in the exposed complex that something is going on. As he leaves, the darkness lifts, bathing the area in light again.

I'm assuming the stairs go up about 5', based on the length of the stairs compared to the other ones.

Feeling useless at the back of the crowd, Kala moves forward to the right of the stairs and reaches up into the doorway with her warhammer to try to smash the Ulfen man's toes.

Grumbling under her breathe, Lunevi turns her attention to the most wounded of their group. It burns a little to leave the woman on the ground, but her allies come first, especially given that their enemy hadn't surrendered. She yanks out her wand of cure light wounds as she moves, carefully tapping Nirion in a spot close to the worst of his wounds.

Drawing a wand:
This is for Norion primarily, but assuming you have a free hand, you can draw a wand as part of your movement. Wands are considered to be enough like a weapon (weapon-like) to be drawn as one. This would give you a chance to actually use the wand on yourself this round.

The Ulfen warrior's armor is too strong for the Balrog's and Kala's attacks to find purchase, but his mail is no protection from Salvadore's force attack. Reeling from the missile, Yajimoro moves in and delivers a nasty back swing to the man's side, cutting deep into his chainmail. With a look of surprise on his face, the Ulfen drops to his knees. The nagaji kicks him to the side and steps into the room to see where the hooded figure ran off to.

As Yajimoro enters the room, he can see that it was once some sort shrine but has been converted into a makeshift barracks. Trash and camping supplies litter the floor and it looks like the room has been stripped of any valuable items. The carvings on the wall have been heavily damaged, some of the carvings look like they've been deliberately chiseled out of the wall, but other portions appear to have been damaged due to bored or spiteful vandalism. The walls rise up 15 feet but the room is open to the sky. On the other side of a divider wall Yajimoro can smell a campfire burning.

In the corner of the room, Yajimoro can see shadows where shadows shouldn't be, a spot of unnatural darkness and a tell-tell sign of where the hooded figure may be.

At this point, we could drop out of initiative if you'd like a chance to loot the two Ulfen's, explore this room, and do a little healing. Otherwise, we can stay in initiative if you want to keep chasing the guy in the hood.

Lunevi smiles at Nirion's thanks and pockets the wand as he moves to catch up with Kala.

Seeing that both of their immediate enemies are down, Lunevi kneels to examine the woman, setting the crossbow just beside her, and begins to administer first aid. The fewer corpses in their wake, the better... And well. They weren't able to use her health as leverage to stop the man from trying to murder them, but it was entirely possible they could utilize any information she held now that, you know, neither of them were trying to kill her and her friends.

The Balrog views "forcing prisoners to give us information" as short-term slavery. Still, if Lunevi needs someone to do the dirty work of interrogation (or killing the prisoner if she refuses to talk), he can be convinced to help out.

Lunevi leans over the fallen Ulfen axe woman and sees that she is unconscious, but still breathing faintly. The bleeding looks like it is mostly under control but she wraps the wound with a torn piece from her cloak just in case.

Everyone else begins making their way off the ice and into the compound.

Assuming that Yagajimoro is going to move farther into the room.

As Yagajimoro moves towards the ramp leading out of the room, he notices the fire on the other side of the wall. Fueling the fire is a huge sheaf of palm-frond pages, upon which Vudran calligraphy may be discerned as the flames devour it. Over the fire a pot of porridge is boiling.
