Pangea-Beta |
• DR from my lvl 5 Feat: Enhanced Resistance (DR 6/- since BAB of +6)
• Beta also has an armor upgrade: Electrostatic Field that deals 1d6 Electricity damage to any creature that touches you or deals damage to you with a melee weapon
Beta keeps on moving--
provoking
-- and goes around the bookcase--
I imagine it is okay to move around like through diff' terrain? Using yellow line
If not possible, then using red line: jumping over twice (w. +19 to jump cannot miss DC of 20 even w/o running start
--to lash out at Loomarch, trying to spot the Hellknight in the smoke...
vs. EAC: 1d20 + 6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 6 + 6 + 1 = 24
Concealment, 1 to 20 is miss: 1d100 ⇒ 57
So, Magic, Silver: 1d4 + 6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 6 + 3 = 19
Zargothrax McDonald |
Zargothrax rushes down into the trench and closes the distance with the Hellknight. "High five bro!"
He then give them a high five. To the face. With claws.
Claw attack vs Yellow's KAC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Z Data Z |
Data advances forward. doublemove. Is all the fire put out, cause I would have had to move through some fire to get there.
GM Aerondor |
@Pangea, that is a very nice feat. @Data, nope, the fire in the top left corner is still there. I've put the blue grids back in to show where the fires have been put out. You can either change your move or take some fire damage.
The last hellknight slashes at Pangea as he moves.
attack: 1d20 ⇒ 19
damage: 1d8 + 4 - 5 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 5 = 2
zap: 1d6 ⇒ 5
The final knight then drops from the contact.
Zarg, you can redo your move, feel free to keep the roll if you want.
@Viper, you don't have a shot on Loomarch from up there, you'll need to get closer, he is in a trench and behind a bookcase.

Leaping down to fight Loomarch. Same roll. Same dialogue.
Z Data Z |
Yes Data moved through the fire, one square worth of fire.
Data moves again fires an energy ray at the red knight hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (6) = 10 vs EAC dmg: 1d3 ⇒ 2 cold
also I may need a reflex save from that fire reflex: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (17) = 19
GM Aerondor |
Data is badly burned as he moves through the flames, but avoids catching fire himself.
fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Zargothrax claws at the hellish knight/armor. He notes the armor has claws of its own...

I may go quiet for a couple of days due to a cub-scout camp. You are almost done here though.
GM Aerondor |
And with bad weather... we have pulled the camp, so no reprieve. Time to finish this. Actions required from Mobius and Fixit. It's been 24hrours, so happy for someone else to suggest an action for one or both of them.
GM Aerondor |
And then there was one...
Loomarch quickly assesses his opponents and judges Pangea the larger threat. He lashes out with a claw like bit of armor, Pangea manages to avoid the first gouge narrowly, but is collected back the backswing.
damage: 1d6 + 10 - 6 ⇒ (6) + 10 - 6 = 10
grab: 1d20 ⇒ 8
electric damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 Ouch, pin not just a grapple
Loomarch grunts from the electricity surging through him, but quickly pins Pangea in a vicelike grip.

Loomarch (red) 50 damage; Grappling.
Zargothrax McDonald |
Zargothrax shrugs. "Welp! Ya got him! Good job! Shake?"
He offers his hand to Loomarch for a handshake.
He then insists on the handshake.
Jolting Surge vs EAC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Electric Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6, 6) = 23
Pangea-Beta |
Beta cringes as it sees Zargothrax sending electricity into Loomarch, wondering will that simply surge right through and into me?!
This makes the android wiggle around in an attempt to escape the Hellknights powerful arms.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 14 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 14 - 4 = 14
basically and Acro' roll w. -4, correct?
At the same time, Beta
---Grappled
You are restrained by a creature, effect, or trap. You can’t move, and you take a –2 penalty to your Armor Class, attack rolls, Reflex saving throws, initiative checks, and Dexterity-based skill and ability checks, except those made to grapple your opponent in turn or to escape a grapple (see Grapple on page 246). In addition, you can’t take actions that require two hands (or other limbs) to perform. You can’t make attacks of opportunity.
You can’t use Stealth to hide from the creature grappling you, even if a special ability allows you to hide when you normally couldn’t. If you become invisible, through a spell or other ability, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to your check to escape being grappled, but you receive no other benefit.---
(back to Pinned
You are limited in the actions that you can take. You cannot take any action that requires the use of any of your limbs, but you can always attempt to free yourself, usually through an attack roll or Acrobatics check. You can’t make attacks of opportunity while you are pinned, but you can still take verbal and mental actions, such as spellcasting.
GM Aerondor |
Even grappled, Loomarch manages to avoid the deadly touch of Zargothrax. Pangea doesn't manage to escape the deadly pin. You all see Loomarch's visor start to rise...

Viper 6 |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
viper flies over the stacks on jump jets and drops the fire extinguisher to get both hands on her rifle.
Attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 vs Kac
Damage 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Seeking weapon, ignores concealment if relevant
Gm reroll/shirt roll ? Attack 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 = 29 vs Kac
ADD damage 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
oooh
“Fixit” Fidorius Nyxit |
Fixit finally catches up to the melee and lets loose with his rifle....
Laser Rifle vs EAC: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Overcharged Fire Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 3 + (4) = 14
GM Aerondor |
Viper proves that it is not just Operatives that can do trick attacks. Just as it looks like she is about to miss, she lets blast with a mighty shot , right into Loomarch's faceplate. Fixit, unfortunately, can't duplicate her awesome shot.
Not that it matters. Loomarch falls over, dead finally. As he does so the furnace within that was close to consuming Pangea dies down too.
That would have been nasty. You can lose limbs to it.
Seconds later a squad of Lorewardens arrives, and a minute or so later Albryan also arrives with more reinforcements and Royo.
He looks about in dismay, and then shrugs philosophically. "Thank you for saving what you did...."
Royo adds in excitedly, although also obviously disappointed at the destruction.
"One of the dispatched relics would have entered the system where First Seeker Jadnura first discovered it..."
He then adds "I also traced the another object that hurtled into a distant star system in the Vast."
"I'm sorry but any other objects of a similar design appear to be untraceable based on the available records. Still, this is a major find for the Society and a huge leap for uncovering the mystery of the Scoured Stars!"
Finally he adds "Maybe finding another of these objects could help the Society enter the currently inaccessible system."
Albryan thanks you for your assistance in defeating the Order of the Pyre a. As a token of appreciation, he waives the entire fee for the research mission and provides Royo with a sealed tome containing instructions on how to visit the Athaeum in the future.
Similarly, the Curators recognize the Society’s likely need to reproduce this information to rescue their lost agents, and grants the Society a measure of immunity in replicating the key data they need in order to complete their ongoing mission.
As a final, statement, Albryan confides that "Athaeum hasn’t seen Starfinders in many years and that the Curators hope to continue working with the Society now that you’ve decided to return from your long silence."
Primary success: Navigate the mind-maze. Success
Secondary success: at least two of: Reclaim the virus yes; return Vindurth to its cage ailve yes; save some books from the library yes Success
I'll try to do your chronicles today. Thank you all very much for playing. Feel free to do any closing comments or questions.
Pangea-Beta |
"Starfinders always ready to serve, sirs!"
Beta looks at its companions: "But this is one crazy place..."
Viper 6 |
Viper looks back to Pangea with a raised brow, clearly agreeing these people are nuttier than squirrel dung.
We were glad to be of service"

As the Starfinders return home:
"Those people were idiots. They let a person who appeared to be literally ON FIRE into their paper based library and they don't believe in even holding soft copy back up documents?"
Viper also avoids their resident rat-scholar, finding him to be cut of the same insufferable cloth, and not-so-secretly believes him to a pain in the rear. She plays nice to him though, as it's not worth the aggravation from her faction leader, who she also wishes would be replaced by a Vesk.

Albyran looks about in dismay and then shrugs philosophically. "Thank you for saving what you did...."
Royo adds in excitedly, although also obviously disappointed at the destruction "While researching more information in the Tower of the Oma, I discovered that one of the dispatched relics would have entered the system where First Seeker Jadnura first discovered it. I apologise that any other objects of a similar design appear to be untraceable based on the available records though.
