I need a consensus:

Are folks still getting into this (Signal of Screams) and enjoying it? I know that this part of the adventure is radically different from the tone of Book 1 and I just wanted to make sure people were still engaged.

I also apologize if my posting has become rather…lax, shall we say. I’ve at times been rather unmotivated in posting on this thread because…well, I’m not sure if it’s because I’m not really into this or what, but I’ve just felt like not posting at times. I don’t know where I was going with that or if it was just to put my feelings out there, but…yeah…

Second Seekers (Jadnura)

Male Ghibrani Operative (Disciple) 3 | 18/18 SP |22/22 HP | 4/4 RP | Init +9 | Perc +13 | SM +12 | EAC 14 | KAC 15 | CMD 23 | Move: 40 ft; Fly 20' (Av) | F +1 | R +6 | W +6 |

I will admit, this part felt a bit odd, but I am assuming things will change once we actually get to Eclipse's "hidden lair".

I definitely want to continue!

EDIT: If my posts have felt a bit too flat, I apologise - it is not a reflection on the game, per se - I have just been trying to play-up the fact that one of the Stains that Xagyg has acquired, is the fact that he has lost the ability to experience positive emotions...?

N Male Dwarf | Mechanic (Exocortex) lvl 9 | (DR 6/-) 0/72 SP |28/60 HP | 4/7 RP | Init +1 | Perc +19 | SM +8 & +2 | EAC 23 | KAC 25 | Move: 40 ft | +1 disease & mind-affecting, +2 spells & SLAs, +2 fear, +3 poison | F +8 | R +7 | W +5 | Auto detect traps/hidden doors in stone w. +2

I did not feel your posts were lax nor lacking.
I do not enjoy this part that much, for two reasons I think: the sandbox aspect and heavy horror of the first book was great, and I imagine you really spiced it up with your own additions, and made it a truly memorable adventure that stands out.
Whereas this part seems a lot more of a linear "grind" (you go here, fight people, then there, fight people - without really being able to mess up since if you do, you can't go on).
So, the fact that is is on the boring side of normal scenarios (but not bad), is a stark contrast to the great stuff behind.
It kind of seems like a tax to get through...
But it is okay, and some NPCs are fun (like the Ysoki and the female Vesk bodyguards), and, as X. says, hopefully it will pick up in a bit.
So, yes, not that exciting, but not bad at all, and it was so great that we know it'll get great again.
I do not want to quit at all.

Witchwyrd Witch Warper 10| SP 70/70; HP 54/54 | RP 13/13 | EAC 23; KAC 24 | Fort +5; Ref +11; Will +5 | Init: +4 | Perc: +9

I don't feel they were laxing either. I am still enjoying this story as we all descend into madness and possibly destroy the rest of the universe.

For me you guys seem to post at night when I am sleeping. Hehe, no fault of your own but that is why it takes me a moment to hop into some of your push posts and conversations.

Just a reminder: The Character Operations Manuel releases next month, and when that happens Volcklon be subject to a rebuilding so that his character matches the released product. I'll also allow Jacob to re-rebuild back into Biohacker if he so wishes (and if they've fixed the scaling issue from before).

Witchwyrd Witch Warper 10| SP 70/70; HP 54/54 | RP 13/13 | EAC 23; KAC 24 | Fort +5; Ref +11; Will +5 | Init: +4 | Perc: +9

Sounds good. Will do once it releases.

Acquisitives

Jacob Andrews, Mystic 9 SP 81 HP 58 RP 12 EAC 24; KAC 25 Fort +5; Ref +8; Will +12

Looking forward to looking into it.

N Male Dwarf | Mechanic (Exocortex) lvl 9 | (DR 6/-) 0/72 SP |28/60 HP | 4/7 RP | Init +1 | Perc +19 | SM +8 & +2 | EAC 23 | KAC 25 | Move: 40 ft | +1 disease & mind-affecting, +2 spells & SLAs, +2 fear, +3 poison | F +8 | R +7 | W +5 | Auto detect traps/hidden doors in stone w. +2

Nothing Boron needs from the inventory.

If okay I will let our ship-meister Xagyg choose re. ship upgrades.

And I will try to update to level 10 (Yay!) a.s.a.p..

Onward we delve!

N Male Dwarf | Mechanic (Exocortex) lvl 9 | (DR 6/-) 0/72 SP |28/60 HP | 4/7 RP | Init +1 | Perc +19 | SM +8 & +2 | EAC 23 | KAC 25 | Move: 40 ft | +1 disease & mind-affecting, +2 spells & SLAs, +2 fear, +3 poison | F +8 | R +7 | W +5 | Auto detect traps/hidden doors in stone w. +2

Still working on updating to 10, but coming along.

Main points:
• I get a class thing: I can use my IA to track two targets at the same time!
Vroni can multitask
• I took a Mechanic trick that makes my Force Field always give me a 5 DR (well ER, energy resistance) vs. Fire

Put the +2 Stats into Dex/Con/Int/Wis

And I still have not used the special campaign Feat one single time!
(the thing that lets Boron resist fear w. some stuff).

Will try to finish by tomorrow (Monday).

Second Seekers (Jadnura)

Male Ghibrani Operative (Disciple) 3 | 18/18 SP |22/22 HP | 4/4 RP | Init +9 | Perc +13 | SM +12 | EAC 14 | KAC 15 | CMD 23 | Move: 40 ft; Fly 20' (Av) | F +1 | R +6 | W +6 |

Alright, so, I have done an upgraded build for our Starship:

Explorer (12BP)

Signal Booster Drift Engine (15BP)

M12 Thrusters (16BP, 80PCU)

Superior Shields 600 (40BP, 160PCU)

Power Core (Nova Ultra) (30BP) - 300 PCU

Mk 1 Tetranode Computer (4BP, 10 PCU)

Budget Long Range Sensors (6BP)
Luxurious Crew Quarters (5BP)

Upgraded Weapon Mount (Turret, Light to Heavy) (6BP)
Extra Light Weapon Mount (Turret) (5BP)
Upgraded Weapon Mount (Turret, Light to Heavy) (6BP)
Twin-Linked Persistent Particle Beam (Turret) (62BP, 80 PCU)

Extra Light Weapon Mount (Turret) (5BP)
Laser Net (Turret) (9BP, 10 PCU)

Extra Light Weapon Mount (Forward) (3BP)
Laser Net (Forward) (9BP, 10 PCU)

Extra Light Weapon Mount (Aft) (3BP)
Laser Net (Forward) (9BP, 10 PCU)

Power Core Housing (10BP)
- Pulse Grey (10BP, -100 PCU)
Hydroponic Garden (5BP)

270/270 BP (used); 360/400 PCU (used)

Basically, I have upgraded the main gun, and tossed in a bunch of extra Laser Nets - which don't do much on their own, but *will* increase our odds of blowing missiles out of the sky, if we get targeted by them.

Second Seekers (Jadnura)

Male Ghibrani Operative (Disciple) 3 | 18/18 SP |22/22 HP | 4/4 RP | Init +9 | Perc +13 | SM +12 | EAC 14 | KAC 15 | CMD 23 | Move: 40 ft; Fly 20' (Av) | F +1 | R +6 | W +6 |

Also, by my calculation, we each gain 8908 credits to spend.

Let's go shopping!

Please do not make an “official” announcement about everyone’s credits. Neither Volcklon nor Jacob have said anything about having looked through the inventory sheet and that can change the numbers. I know that they’re slower at posting, but I ask that you please be patient.

Witchwyrd Witch Warper 10| SP 70/70; HP 54/54 | RP 13/13 | EAC 23; KAC 24 | Fort +5; Ref +11; Will +5 | Init: +4 | Perc: +9

Volcklon is all leveled and good with the inventory sheet. Most of the new items were heavy armor or longarms which he isn't proficient in.

N Male Dwarf | Mechanic (Exocortex) lvl 9 | (DR 6/-) 0/72 SP |28/60 HP | 4/7 RP | Init +1 | Perc +19 | SM +8 & +2 | EAC 23 | KAC 25 | Move: 40 ft | +1 disease & mind-affecting, +2 spells & SLAs, +2 fear, +3 poison | F +8 | R +7 | W +5 | Auto detect traps/hidden doors in stone w. +2

When the shares are determined, Boron will hand 750 Credits over to Volcklon to pay back.
Also, I probably will buy nothing, so I can give/loan/spot/toss Credits to any who needs.

I unfortunately must be the bearer of bad news.

I’ve been dwelling on this for quite a while for a number of reasons, but I think I’ve finally come to a conclusion: it’s gotten to the point where, honestly, I’ve come to view this campaign as a chore than as a game. I’ve been reluctant at times to advance the narrative and it’s honestly just no longer fun for me anymore. As much as it pains me to say this, I think it is time for me to call time of death on this campaign.

You folks can try and find another GM to continue if you wish, but unfortunately it’s at the point where I cannot see that GM as being me. I’m sorry if this came abruptly for some of you.

:( Sorry to hear that GM. It was a heck of a game and I could definitely feel the insanity from the horror aspect. Very well done. Definitely no need for it to feel like a chore and get burned out though.

I'm actually pretty much in the same boat. Life events have made keeping up with this game pretty much impossible to keep up with, so if you do decide to continue, I'll have to bow out.

N Male Dwarf | Mechanic (Exocortex) lvl 9 | (DR 6/-) 0/72 SP |28/60 HP | 4/7 RP | Init +1 | Perc +19 | SM +8 & +2 | EAC 23 | KAC 25 | Move: 40 ft | +1 disease & mind-affecting, +2 spells & SLAs, +2 fear, +3 poison | F +8 | R +7 | W +5 | Auto detect traps/hidden doors in stone w. +2

The first book was memorable, and I imagine an interestingly written adventure, that you made into something I will always remember.

I imagine that this tunnel part of the second book might end at one moment, or you can just skip, hand-wave till it gets more interesting... but I understand you getting swamped.

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for everything!

Second Seekers (Jadnura)

Thank-you for taking the time to let us know what is going on.

I agree, Book 1 was a memorable experience, that I will certainly cherish.

Truly, thank-you for running this for us!

Thanks all. It was a difficult decision for me, but one I felt I ultimately had to make. I honestly think I'm going to lay off of Starfinder for a bit while I wrap my head around PF2. Maybe I'll choose to do another AP that actually starts at first level, like Attack of the Swarm!, but until then I just need to unwind.

If you all ever get the chance to finish out this relatively short AP, then take it! The story is fascinating and an interesting philosophical dive. Again, I'm sorry that I have to end it abruptly like this, but I just feel like I'm no longer having fun with this.

EDIT: Not to mention that I'm trying to balance my PbPs with adult life, day-to-day stresses, and making it through college.

Okay, be safe! And have fun. I hope your studies go well.

Thanks all for the enjoyable game, and thanks a LOT GM for the great fun )))

On another, note I have given up PFS 1st Ed and SFS, and will probably stop PbP, so, since I will likely not see you around here, I wish you well.
