Here is an interesting question for the hive mind:

If you have, say, Fire Resistance 5, and then you get crit for 'Burn 1d4', are you actually on fire?

If you are (and simply take no damage from it), I may have to look into that with one of my PCs...

There is nothing about the damage not being reduced or going directly to HP etc., so the fire resist should apply.
If you are hit by 1d6 Burn then you only get 1 dam' on a 6.
I've always GMed that way.
That's my 2 Credits...

And Boron spent his 2 Credits on buying a lighter for his cigars before leaving on the previous holidays.

Well, Boron has suggested doing some breaking and entering - I, the player, have no objection to that, but Xagyg has a reputation to think about, and couldn't be seen doing that - hence, the statement about going to get a coffee (but still being within comm range, in case things go sideways).

So, as a gift to myself, I bought herolab for starfinder. I'm going to be checking jacob and entering him in, but it should help me be more aware of how my own damn character works. Maybe i'll be more helpful then.

I’m well aware that Gen Con recently started—especially such a big Gen Con as this one with the release of Second Edition—so I won’t be as strict about posting every day while Gen Con is going on. Though we have been getting a bit lax with posting recently, myself included.

If that's the Society/Culture spoiler, nobody rolled for that.

And, for me, if people start taking 10, then it would be best, in my eyes, even if it slows things down, to not put the DCs of the rolls up.
If you don't know beforehand that you can make a DC by taking 10, you often roll instead.

"Escort" is just a kinder way of saying "prostitute," if memory serves. And Xagyg can specifically take-10 with his Sense Motive checks at all times. And sometimes there are places where exceeding the DC gets you more results, hence why I put the spoilers up.

It was never mentioned or hinted at.

And, of course Xagyg can Take 10 at all times.
Except that when you put the DC up, then people see if take 10 works, and only take 10 it if it does.
As in this case: DC 29? 19+10=29. So take 10 it is.
Had it been 30 there would have been no take 10 since it would have not worked.
The decision to Take 10 or not should remain gamble.

Paizo ate my post and I used Lazarus to bring back my post. It must have missed some of the text and the Culture using that roll for that Diplomacy.

Volcklon had a +11 Culture.

Speaking of operatives and Surprise rounds. I just had my party cast slow on a group of enemies. One of the named ones was an operative and it completely shut down every class feature, basically making him little more than a mook.

I’ve got a busy day today, so if I do post today it won’t be for several hours.
