Hello all! Glad to be in on the fun. Excited to see where this 3.5 Kalmar game goes, I would love to play this wizard to high levels. Thanks for allowing me to join, lets roll some dice!

Hello! Just so I can get a sense of where everyone is and when people might be posting... What time zone is everyone in? I am central time zone USA.

Central time Zone here.

She turns to Alurad. "The contest is in four day. I do believe my father has said my beloved would fight to the death. "
To the death? What is the alignment of this town? Would the guard actually allow this? I’m cool with going with the flow but I’m curious if this is standard procedure here.

Yeah. You get the idea that her father REALLY has it out for her fiance.
The area is LN. You get the idea..the guards would NOT let the other combatant attack a guy that is down and bleeding. But if he gets up...it's ok.

I apologize for my absence these past few days. This weekend I ran a kids conference and I took yesterday to recover. Back in the swing of things, and it looks like just in time. :-/

FYI
"Dejy
“The Dejy tribes wander the world; they no longer have an empire, they also have no war.” ~ popular proverb, though technically very wrong
The Dejy are the most diverse of the human races, but they all speak a similar language and consider beards to be a sign of wisdom and strength. Ample evidence shows that they have inhabited or roamed the fartherst corners of Tellen ane all areas in between. Today they are most common in the Young Countries, the Wild Lands, the eastern Renaaria Bay, and amid wastelands (where they must often fight of Orcs). Most Dejy live in nomadic tribes that travel the plains and wastes (deserts, jungles, tundra, etc). Wealthier tribes have formed Caravan companies. That said both Dijishy of the Elos Desert and Thygasha of the Khydoban desert are large and powerful Dejy city-states ruled by Caliphs. The Dejy are masters of horse, and their mounted skirmishers and light cavalry are considered the best in the known world. Though other empires have risen and fallen on their lands, it has served the Dejy well, as you cannot kill what you cannot catch, and few things are faster than a Dejy on a good steed!"

Apologies, I was out of town this weekend.
Alurad Sorizan
Alive and well. I wasn’t sure if I was waiting to do something or on a post moving us forward. Alurad took care of both. Lol

I assume I'm the new player... I'll flesh out a background hopefully tomorrow and any other details ironed out.
ok great!
Let's assume you heard some noise near the alleyway where the party was and that you've gone to investigate and that your PC is in town for the festival.

Welcome Jon Fiddle! Glad to have you joining us on this adventure!!
Alurad Sorizan
what do you guys do with all the loot?
Alurad will snag what he would find useful. He cannot carry that much if we are going by the weight limit rules. If no one else would grab anything he could always tie their bags to his donkey Shadow.

... opps....
Oops indeed. Though you can easily throw out later to 'think of it as a job interview' so they can see his skill in action, while also helping the couple, two birds with one stone.
Or maybe he thought he asked already and it slipped his mind. Who knows?
Mirianna Tangier
Hey guys, apologies, we had the flu roll through our house the last few days and I'm completely out of it-- I will try to jump back in here once I catch up.
Alurad Sorizan
Will you always be doing block initiative? If so, would it be possible for me to trade out the Improved Initiative feat?

Will you always be doing block initiative? ... Improved Initiative feat ...
I am not fully versed in block initiative myself, or some of the PbP trends.
Though i assume that's the DM will do the rolls/calculations (taking say 3 minutes, rather than wasting say 12 hours waiting for everyone to roll and then figuring it out) and say who's going and possibly who should post at a given time. As such Improved initiative should still give an advantage.
There really is something missing when you can't roll actual dice and your roll is literally in your hands and not from a PRNG.
Alurad Sorizan
I am cool with whatever, but if we aren’t going to do initiatives I would just find a better use of the feat. Again, I am good with whatever really.

Just had a thought for how to do initiative, but involves say pens. You write each monster/person's name on a pen (or on paper and tape it to a pen, along with their modifier & Improved initiative), roll them as a group on the floor, then from top to bottom is initiative. Move them according to their modifier and then remove the cap to say it's been moved.
This would give a clear order of who does what and no D20's, no one going at the same time. Course it's a bit of setup and seems more an interesting gimmick rather than a useful tactic.

Good thing I'm last in initiative. I'll be out of town this week and may not be able to log in here till Friday evening.
Michael
PS Mike, I wanted to attend 1d4 con. This was a bad weekend for that. I'm flying out today, and getting last Friday off would have been difficult. :(
Mirianna Tangier
Just to let you guys know, I have AT for the national guard this month- I still have my phone but I'm not going to be very spotty.
Alurad Sorizan
That is what I would suggest, but being a 3.5 1st level wizard Alurad wouldn’t be taking the lead.. lol.
Is everyone still in on this game? It seems that people have become spotty...
Alurad Sorizan
Everyone don’t forget about the loot we have from the thugs that is currently on my horse.
2 javelins, rapier, 2 javelins, backpack, masterwork dagger, rapier, 2 javelins, backpack,
masterwork dagger, hand crossbow, 3 needle bolts (poisoned), 3 doses of chokevine milk poison (Injury DC 13, Initial damage 1d3 Str, Secondary damage 1d3 Str, 100 gp each), masterwork studded leather armor, backpack,
large sack (50 sp).
Alurad: Potion of cure light wounds, tanglefoot bag
I also believe that the: Potion of Darkvision, and Masterworked Rapier have been claimed.
Please feel free to take what you all might want from it. The Javelins can be thrown @Jon
Mirianna Tangier
Yeah- I snagged the masterwork rapier; we should def divide up the thrown and that hand crossbow, but my to hit is terrible so whoever else needs them first should grab them.
Alurad Sorizan
I would totally take that Hand Crossbow, but it is not on my list. Once we get back to town I will totally be buying a Light Crossbow for just incase situations like this.. lol
Alurad Sorizan
Hey, if no one else is going to use it then you might as well. Put them on your character sheet and I will take them off the list.
