Qilldar watches as Valentina passes out the potions, conflicted if he can trust they are what she says they are. When she gets to him, he hesitates, looking down at the potions and then up at her before finally taking them. "Don't want to insult her by not taking them. She appears to want to help us. I can always choose not to use them," he thinks to himself.

He is surprised by Dellan's offer, and again hesitates a moment before taking the gift. "Thanks, hopefully I won't need it," he says, returning an awkward grin.

He then considers Draxia's comment about the markings. "Following them seems as good a plan as any. Besides, I don't want to spend more time in sewers than I have to," he says with a shrug of his shoulders. He then follows the group down the passageway.

Krusk raises an eyebrow at the apparent gift. Well, I apparently forgot mine, so at least this might come in handy.

The potions he accepts with gratitude, but makes a mental note to check them later.

She frowns, then continues. "I don't see why anyone would change them."

Valentina steps to Draxia, laying a hand gently on her forearm. "I know everything's crazy right now, but if you'll accompany me inside the city, I'll explain everything I know."

Pevi stands off to the left-hand side of the tunnel, looking around nervously, shuffling from foot to foot.

Dellan returns to his place at the back of the party, just ahead of Valentina, glancing behind them regularly.

At least, I'm assuming Valentina would want to return to her original position in the very back. If not, Dellan will take up the rear instead.

Pevi leads the party through the first section of tunnels. The walls here have been roughly worked, and the ceiling high enough to walk comfortably.

You walk in a more or less straight line for 60 feet, until you come to a T intersection.

Pevi mutters to himself, searching the walls and floors for the sword mark.

As the party searches for the mark, Valentina sidles up beside Draxia. "I don't completely understand why Chan started abducting people. The Halls attract enough adventurers and Pathfinders that the upper levels should be completely cleared. I know there's the druidic curse, but still..."

DC 12 Perception:
The swordmark has been partially rubbed away, but you can see that it is pointing to the right-hand tunnel.

If someone wants to take over the lead from Pevi, he willingly gives it up.

Qilldar nods and moves to the front, sword in hand. "It might not be necessary, but then again, who knows who or what has been down here."

I will stop to search intersections and doorways. +7 to spot traps.

"Well that explains a lot, maybe he researched too hard and thanks to his new position he is trying to make a 'Show of Force' to show them he is the right man for the job and well gets back to his first love, his books." She says with a giggle as she leans in.

"Also you know men and their positions of power, all bluster with little to no power to back it up. At least for most of them' She says with a wink as she giggles and then watches as positions are shifted and she stays close to the enrapturing figure that is Valentina

As the party passes the sword mark, he pauses to inspect it for a moment and frowns as they continue on. "Can't tell if that was intentional or not," he says, "but something rubbed away part of that marking. If there's goblins down here, could be that they're causing mischief."

At Valentina's words, his eyebrows rise. "Curse? What sort of curse?"

Thinking on the other's comments about the mark Kubi adds "If that group behind us makes it in here, maybe we could redirect them the wrong way? Does anyone have something to draw a sword symbol pointing the wrong way?

Walking with Qilldar and Spiller, Pevi stage whispers. "What if those Vultures anticipate our actions, and we run into them down here?

His eyes dart around, like he's seeing things in the shadows.

"Maybe we should have stayed..."

"Hmm, the mark indicates we should turn down the side passage. Is there supposed to be running water, Pevi? As far as staying, I dont think the odds were with us. We made the right decision," Qilldar says as he motions down the side passage.


"I guess you guys are right," he replies, passing his sunrod from hand to hand.

"Can't help but feel Popido is going to be really angry with me for not showing him the sights down here.

He spreads his arm, and does a spin. "Chan only wanted me and Val to come down here, and this was Popi's chance."

His eyes light with excitement about the water. "Wait til you guys see it," he starts, moving towards the adjoining tunnel. "There's this awesome underground waterfall and everything!"

Krusk starts recounting what he's heard about the group Assuming a 22 yields results, anyway. Krusk has Bardic Knowledge, and so can generally make untrained checks. If that's Knowledge:Local, that's a 25; Planes would be 26


Although ratfolk don't generally mind being underground, Kubi prefers knowing where she is or at least where she is going. "Well if the waterfall indicates that we are still on the right track, let's go and see it!"

"Hmm. It could be dangerous; we are being pursued, after all." He stops to look at the latest sword marking. "Perhaps we could cover these as we go, or erase them? I know it might make things difficult for you in the future, but it may also throw off our pursuers."


"We won't be able to go back to the house outside the city," Valentina muses.

She takes her 3 remaining guards aside, and instructs them to obscure the way markers and misdirect the Vultures.

She rejoins Dellan, a little sad. "So much work for nothing," and blows a wisp of hair out of her face. "Guess there's no help for it now,"

She gives her guards a long glance, then joins the party in the adjacent corridor.

Qilldar looks relieved to hear the sound of water is to be expected. "Sounds great, I can't wait to see it," he responds to Pevi and starts down the side tunnel.

"I'm going to have to trust these people for now. I don't have much choice. Need to get out of these tunnels. And need to know more about the Vultures that are after us. Deep breath. Remember to smile and look pleasant," he thinks to himself.

With Pevi holding the light high, you pick your way carefully through the tunnel. The air grows chilled and moist, and the sound of rumbling water escalates. You come to a yawning room, with misting water at the far end and mottled algae sprawled over the stone floor.

Qilldar nods in agreement. "Wow, that is impressive, an underground river. Any idea where it leads?" he asks. His imagination running wild with possibilities, he is oblivious to anything else in the cavern.

"Wait, did she just suggest taking a bath?" he thinks as he glances back at the half-orc, his look lingering a little too long. He slowly returns his gaze to the waterfall while raising an eyebrow in contemplation.


Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Kubi scans the area, not interested in a bath or really interested in the beauty of the falls. "Careful approaching the water. There could be something hidden in the shallows."
