"Call them off, Madame! This will end badly for you!" Dario shouts as he closes on her, turning his back to the sandman. He tries to slash at her.

Moving away provokes an AOO from the blue sandman. Gambling that he won't be able to drop me in one hit.

Awakened by Fiata, Penthesilea stands and retrieves her bow.

Without further orders from Zelekhati, the sandmen continue swinging, this time both swiping at Kenji!

Dario looks down at the woman, seeing her still breathing. He turns back to the sandmen, stepping closer, and draws a vial of alchemist fire. He hurls it at the nearest, confident that Kenji's heritage will protect him.

Fire Damage (FB, flag, Luck): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
1 fire splash damage for Kenji.

"Good thing as an academic, I'm used to boring things." He pulls out his healing wand after waking Kenji up.
"Use blunted weapons if you have them, people!"

Pending question here is what you do with her/what you take back to Torch; will pause for that and healing before kicking off the next task

He takes the ring from her finger after the Professor briefs everyone on his findings.

At Skai’s suggestion, he again shakes his head.
”We do not steal. We were just talking to her and she was the one that suddenly attacked us so until now this was only self defense! I didn’t do anything wrong!! If we now know how she got the secrets then that is all we need, right?!“ he asks full of doubt.

Skai starts working to tie the lady up, and then tries to use the Share Memories wand to see if she can get memories of the last time the lady did what she does to get the information she has.
She also holds on to the ring.

"Good idea with the share memory spell! But after investigating this I would rather just let her be and go to the next task!"

I think Share Memory allows you to share something with the target. Not the other way around. Unless you're trying to get her to cast it on you.
"While I suspect the ring has something to do with it, we don't actually know how she's gaining her secrets. Our task for our...employer...isn't quite complete. Either we force her to tell us, which might be easier now, or we deliver her to Torch for him to do it."

Two rows of decrepit wooden shacks are separated by an alley that serves more as a filthy runnel than a pathway. Broken wooden doors do little to keep the elements or vermin out, but there is little within to steal. Few of the shacks boast more than a chair or two and several threadbare bedrolls.

You know they are feared assassins, but usually wear distinctive armor and use sawtooth sabers- so she might be a spy/associate rather than an assassin; they have no affiliation with the Hundredfingers gang which is a strictly local group here

It never struck me previously how odd it is that you might actively engage an assassin group that has nothing to do with the group you're looking for.
The Professor approaches the woman. "Ah excuse me. Is that a bottle of Thervian willow paste? A colleague of mine at the university has been looking for some. How much for it? Oh, what a marvelous necklace too! Oh, Dr. Beldrias is always keen to study insects preserved in amber. Would you be selling that too?"
