Omrax the Bold |
And when I saw Hania at this table, I thought, wow...a chance at an all-paladin table. :)
The Man Behind the Curtain |
So... has Omrax been played since the last game I ran for him? It's been a while, but there isn't much content up at these levels.
Then there's Hania... first game I played on these boards involved her getting crit several times and not dying. Searlas is level 5 still... I should probably play him more often so he can continue to yell at his imaginary bird.

Hi, I just had to hunt down this thread, haha.
FYI, can someone post the link to this on the Google Sheet? I kept checking there before a friend told me to conduct some search-fu in Flaxseed.
I will update my character's profile once I finish spending my gold from Eyes of the Ten. If you have any specific formatting requests, just let me know.

Yeah, I put a courtesy note up on the lodge but I was planning to send PMs out at the start of the year. I guess putting a link on the spreadsheet would have been the smart idea... but I'm the idiot who volunteered to run a seeker table! My judgement is a bit lacking. And then I connect Quaff into joining... so my judgement is VERY lacking.
But on the other hand... I've got repeat players! So I can't be too bad now can I?
Syeira Azuranti |
I don't envy your group composition. This is going to be.... interesting.
Though I must say, I'm glad to see all of these melee combatants to provide me with a flank, considering during Eyes of the Ten I only had one other person who was in melee consistently.

Omrax has pretty much been static in retirement since the Skykey run by you. I was going to apply my GM credits for EotT to him but never got the chance. With the campaign winding down I figure take any chance to play I can.
Icona Pop |
Icona Pop is clearly a battle cleric, but she can take a more support/healing-oriented set of spells, and I suspect that is what she'll do with our group.
She does have a little bit of shield shenanigans, and I'd like to make sure that they're OK. She has a light quickdraw shield and the quick draw feat, which in theory allows her to do the following during her turn:
1) Put away her shield as a free action
2) Make a two-handed attack with her long sword
3) Don her shield as a free action
So on her turn, she can make a two-handed attack and then have her shield up when others attack her during their turns. It also means that any AoO that she takes are one-handed since her shield is up when others are moving/acting.
Does this sound OK?
Icona Pop |
I think that I've got a fairly complete description of Icona Pop posted, including links to her scanned chronicle sheets. If I'm missing anything, please don't hesitate to ask.
Cugel Marat |
Checking in, going to have to run my psychic since my occultist is still stuck in Eyes of the Ten.
Character info is partially uploaded, still have some gear stuff to add. Will be uploading chronicles tomorrow.
Stiehle |
Just checking to see if I can put my name down as an alternate for this one. Had planned to join the 14th level game, but the adventure that would have made my ranger 14th level was canceled, and so he is still 13th level at this time.
Let me know if you wind up with an opening, and regardless I hope you all have a fun adventure!

Stiehle, are you the reason for the opening at the level 14-15 table? Maybe, I can move there with my level 14 character and you can take my slot here. I've PMed the level 14-15 GM.
The Man Behind the Curtain |
pjrogers, check GM Silbeg's thread over here. They are currently looking for more players. Assuming that works out, Stiehle, you're welcome here. That being said, if it doesn't work out it is also legal to play 1 step out of subtier, although playing up into tier 14-15 would likely be rather dangerous.

Should have posted as Icona Pop, the character that I've got here so as to avoid any confusion. I've PMed GM Silbeg as he requested in the Retrocon thread. We'll see what happens. If there is still an open slot in his level 14-15 tier table, then I'll play my level 14 character then and Stiehle can play here.
Icona Pop |
OK, GM Silberg is good with me moving to his tier 14-15 table. So, I will bid you all a sad adieu and wish you good luck, and Stiehle can take Icon's place here.
Radek Angdur |
Greetings all! Thanks for having this crusty old dwarf join your group!
Radek is a two-weapon fighting ranger (shield and axe), with a whole bunch of feats that makes him pretty good with the shield, especially knocking targets back and/or down if they have nowhere to go on the Bull Rush attack.
He dipped into Paladin (apparently in keeping with the theme of this table?) shortly after he died in an adventure, touched by Torag and with a special power that causes the target of his 'smite' to deal half-damage to those within 10' of him (so Radek usually becomes the target at that point.)
Not sure if any of this adventure will take place in forest or underground, but as a Guide he also shares favored terrain with his allies, granting +2 bonuses to the usual, including Initiative, Perception and Stealth most importantly.
Oh yeah, he's got an evil aura ioun stone that rotates around his head. OOCly, I couldn't pass up the free feat it bestowed. In-character, he keeps it as a reminder of the fact that not all magic items can be trusted, no matter how useful they might seem.
Radek Angdur |
Can't seem to dot into the Gameplay thread. I'll try again later.
Syeira Azuranti |
Oh yeah, he's got an evil aura ioun stone that rotates around his head.
I will point out that Syeira has the same type of ioun stone.
From a combat perspective, Syeira is mostly a glass cannon. She's a Magus trapped in an Arcane Trickster's body. Her general tactics are to achieve a flank (or be invisible), then two-weapon attack with her spell-storing rapier and another touch spell in her unarmed off-hand. If hitting things gets difficult, she'll resort to only using the rapier (because, after all, it's keen) or just normal melee touch attacks if the ACs seem to be too lofty. Her higher-level spells are evocation, so if she can't get close or if the ACs are just too absurd, she can resort to spells like Fire Snake or Lightning Arc. She is an Evoker, so she often changes the elemental type of her spells. Finally, I do have an Arcane Spell Failure percentage at 5%, so I do have to remember to roll that every time I cast a spell (and please remind me if I don't).
I will note that both her weapon and her armor are spell storing. She stores spells in them ahead of time, and are noted in my profile accordingly. Her most common self-buffs are Heightened Awarenesses (often burning it for the initiative bonus) and a blood-boiling pill for the 8-hour initiative buff (at the risk of the cold vulnerability).
I do still need to create a profile for my familiar, but it's important to point out that Yrishi the pipefox is her familiar who has the ability to cast Vanish 3 times a day, and is another source of invisibility for Syeira. Yrishi almost never leaves her side and is often on my person.
Radek Angdur |
Radek, make sure you're not just typing 'dot', because that may be what someone else already posted and deleted. Paizo's website won't accept that.
That's exactly what it was, thanks Hania! I didn't know about that rule at all - is it fairly new?
For the record, I always like to delete those dot posts myself. I think it triggers my OCD when I see them strewn across the gameplay thread...
Radek Angdur |
Yep, I use Discord, Hangouts and e-mail as well.
Icona Pop |
This is a little thing, but how do I "withdraw" Icona from this PBP campaign? I'm just trying to clean up the list of campaigns that are in my profile.
Hania_ |
auras that may help others:
Aura of Courage (Su) You are immune to fear (magical or otherwise). Each ally within 10 feet of you gains a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against fear effects. This ability functions only while you are conscious, not if you are unconscious or dead.
Aura of Justice (Su) You can expend two uses of your smite ability to grant the ability to smite evil to all allies within 10 feet, using your bonuses. Allies must use this Smile Evil ability by the start of your next turn and the bonuses last for 1 minute. Using this ability is a free action. Evil creatures gain no benefit from this ability.
Aura of Resolve (Su) You are immune to charm spells and spell-like abilities. Each ally within 10 feet of you gains a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against charm effects. This ability functions only while you are conscious, not if you are unconscious or dead.
Courage and Resolve are the passive ones, because they add to saves without costing any resources.
I do not know if Omrax has the same auras.
Radek Angdur |
Ugh, sorry folks I got hit hard by RL a few days ago and am still recovering. I'm around though, and will endeavor to keep up on my posting.
Omrax the Bold |
On Omrax damage rolls is a bit unpredictable as he does double smite damage on the first successive hit. So I included in the second attack. If the first hit, then add 16 damage to that hit but remove 32 from the crit.
So either 87 from one crit or 111 if two hits, bypassing any DR.
Cugel Marat |
Pretty much same for me.
Hania_ |
Hania is a paladin of a NG deity, so she is barely on the L side of the LG/NG line. She has in the past stood by while friends lied in a good enough cause, and also chosen to be easy to distract while they did something a bit questionable in a good cause. I usually have a CG friend character who helps Hania through these issues when needed. I know our GM is OK with this stretching of the code, because he was that CG friend for Hania's first adventure. :)
I'm not sure Omrax has that degree of flexibility, though. If we end up needing to use this flexibility, that's fine, as long as I get a bit of assistance from others with it. It looks like we have a bunch of LG at least partly paladins, several CN characters, and Cugel is labelled as CG, so Cugel may be the best one to do any convincing of Hania or providing an excuse for her to not pay attention to what is going on.
Hopefully Omrax and Radek can chime in on whether their characters are also able to be flexible.
Omrax the Bold |
Omrax can be flexible, realizing not everyone can live up to the high standards of Iomedae. He will not engage in evil and he personally will not lie. He is more naive than gullible, so people have worked around it in the past. In this case, will a high diplomacy check do as much or more than any subterfuge? With three paladins, I figured we probably could max out in that department.
Radek Angdur |
Radek is mostly about honor in battle, and has been known to 'look the other way' in situations like this. He doesn't consider the merchant to be an honorable sort anyway.
He's also fairly new to paladinhood anyway, having been blessed by Torag after being killed in battle saving his companions. It seemed a good class to dip into OOCly, and it made sense ICly as well, so I went with it. But he's definitely not uptight in situations like this.
Eadie Navhelan |
"Wow! Thank-you for the aid token, Mr Ser Omrax the Old!"
A black knight runs through the scene. "Also, Luisila says hi! I can't tell you where she is, 'cos she's on a secret mission for the Ten in Cheliax!"
*Mad Wave* "Hi, Hania! Remember when we did hard time together in that Qadiran jail?"
GM Dennis |
When you get a moment, GM, please remove me from the players list for this game. Thanks.
Omrax the Bold |
Omrax smiles and then embarrassingly waves at the armored woman as she runs past.
”Um...hello? How have you....“
Omrax the Bold |
Flying back out to Seattle early tomorrow. Will return home on Friday night. Hopefully the internet is better this time for posting in the evenings.
Radek Angdur |
I'm not familiar with that Smite Evil that Hania is giving... everyone? That's awesome, if I'm reading that right.
Is it +6 to ALL our attack rolls and +13 to all our damage rolls as well? Want to make sure before I roll the bones...
Hania_ |
It's called aura of justice.
Here is Hania's smite bonus that everyone who accepts it (and chooses a target right away) can take: If this target is evil, you add +6 to your attack rolls and +13 to all damage rolls made against the target of your smite. If the target of Smite Evil is an outsider with the evil subtype, an evil-aligned dragon, or an undead creature, the bonus to damage on the first successful attack increases to +26. Regardless of the target, Smite Evil attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess. In addition, while smite evil is in effect, you gain a +6 deflection bonus to your AC against attacks made by the target of the smite. If you target a creature that is not evil, the smite is wasted with no effect. The Smite Evil effect remains until the target of the smite is dead or the next time you rest and regain your uses of this ability.
