Shelves holding a staggering array of datapads line the walls and stand freely around this room. A small desk sits in front of a shuttered window adjacent to the room’s only entrance, and some sort of broken robot has been pushed underneath it. A 15-foot-high balcony holding even more shelves stretches across the eastern, western, and northern walls.
A makeshift camp has been set up in the center of the floor, and four Kish warriors are brewing a strong-smelling liquid when you open the door. A tall, regal Kish warrior wielding an ultrathin longsword stands atop the balcony. As his warriors drop their drinks and grab their axes, he addresses you all (although the only one who can understand him is Varnais):
"I knew more DEMONS would come to take what is ours! We were too trusting at first, many believing you were messengers of our ancestors, but I thought it strange to send such foul creatures as emissaries. And what good news do YOU claim to bring? Nothing besides death, defilement of our sacred spaces and corruption of our finest minds. You clouded their eyes and made them think our way of life wasn’t under attack. I could see, though. I knew. When I send you back to the ancestors, you can tell them Xavra knows and he stands strong. I will ALWAYS stand strong!”
