Seoni Playtest |

Seoni throws her hands up in the air in exasperation at the thought of having to cast yet another one of her spells. She is really hoping the group has some time to rest overnight so she can recharge them.
She looks at the minotaur with determination and utters the words of magic while making the gestures and using additional material components that trigger a Magic Missile spell that is more potent than it normally would be.
Magic Missile: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4, 1) + 3 = 12

![]() |

Did not beat the perception DC, but the damage is enough to cause him to surrender. Seoni can keep her Magic Missile and assume it is unexpended!
Meresiel's feint attempt is easily misunderstood by the Minotaur but the confusion is enough to allow her to land a nicely timed strike with her rapier into his ribs! At this time, he gasp for air, and turns to drop his weapon.
The Minotaur leader steps forward and claps slowly, speaking loudly in your direction "Bravo, you are indeed worthy fighters. And we yield to your strength! Do not harm my men anymore, for we wane in numbers. We shall cooperate with you Pathfinders but also ask that you listen to our plea as well, I will also tend to your wounds if you so desire!"
She offers to bring the injured to full health
Merisiel -20, Seoni -10, Amiri -50, Valeros -54, Kyra -43

Elinnea's Pregen |
Amiri glows a little at the praise, though it tastes bitter considering that she got knocked out of the challenge before she even had a chance to act. She glares a little at the young minotaur who charged right into her, but grudgingly presents her wounds to the minotaur to be healed. "No funny business, right?" She keeps away from her sword to show that she won't take out her frustration on any of the minotaurs while they chat.

![]() |

"No funny business..." She says as she tends to the wounds beginning with Merisiel and Amiri casting the spell heal. She continues to tell her tale.
"We seek not to aimlessly attack travellers but we are at an impasse due to a very cunning individual. We do it to as a last resort for survival. As I have mentioned, we grow weaker in numbers, this is because our tribe is consistenly being attacked by that of a harpy and his army of humans." She explains.

Seoni Playtest |

Seoni is quite happy for both the healing and to not expend her spell.
"A harpy? Isn't that a bit unusual for them to attack minotaurs?"

![]() |

She looks confused at Valeros question, but tries to explain herself. "I do mean a harpy, yes, it is unusual for him to be in this part of Absalom, however we have found ourselves to be subject of his recent attacks. "

![]() |

quick mobile update from site.
"I have not the clue of the Harpy nor his armies goals. I can only assume he seeks power and wants to expand his territory to our neck of the woods. The humans are a mix of locals and travelled, we suspect he takes them from travelling road. If the Harpy is defeated, it would ease our burdens."
Perhaps you want to ask about the clasp? Your main purpose? Hint hint. But regardless, you're heading towards the Harpy next, so exploration tactic choices please!

![]() |

Merisiel looks confused "I thought all Harpies were female?"
Merisiel (or at least I think) in my other game asked the same question! Anyway, the bestiary for PF2 doesn't specify that they only female, so mechanically no difference and there are male harpies, which would make sense as they need to mate.
"You misunderstood, female harpies are more common, but the male counterparts exist... and of the clasp, I know of the item you seek, it was in our belongings, however I assure you it's no longer in our possession. It was taken by the Harpy and his army in their latest attack against our tribe. Defeat him, and you will find your belongings."
Clearly, the path is clear now.
Exploration tactics please! Then I'll move us on to the last part.

The minotaur is able to give you clear direction towards the mountainside where she believes the Harpy's lair resides. Inisia at this time, bids you well as she chooses to return to the safety of the town to tend to her wounds, putting the task of retrieving the clasp into your capable hands. Along your journey, approximately 2-3 hours long, you come across a few small woodland creatures, but nothing to be concern about.
As you approach the mountainside, you come into view of a tall wooden structure raised about 25 ft high, akin to a watchtower, with a huan ranger standing up top wielding a shortbow. As soon as he observes you, he shouts alarming, "In..In…truderss!!"

"Hey, stop that humming! Why don't you get down here and fight!" It sounds like it's meant to be soothing, but Amiri finds the tune infuriating. She rushes up to be almost directly underneath the harpy and pulls out a javelin to hurl at him.
The javelin's range is 30ft, so I assume if the harpy is 30ft in the air it's just outside the first range increment.

And... We're at a wrap!
Valeros strikes hard, and heavily injures the Harpy. Seoni and Merisiel finish him off with a few quick strikes through use of magic and precision!
Immediately as the harpy falls, the guards drop their weapons and they plead for mercy, "Stop! Please don't hurt us! We didn't mean to, we were under some sort of spell!" they begin hastily explaining their situation and how they ended up to be under the harpy's control, and watched many other individuals go and die for the harpy.
[oo]Mechanically, he has a lesser staff of enchantment that "weirdly" reacts to the captivating song and after continuous exposure, the humans have become permanent slaves, but hold ends when harpy is slain. Combat for the other table was a little bit more challenging as two of the players fell prey to the captivating song and were practically out of combat until the last rund or so.[/ooc]
In the cave that lies behind the tower, you find a mount of goods (presumable stolen from the harpy's unlawful activities.) including rations, mundane weapons, gold, and the like. Among the pile, it is relatively easy to find, after a quick search, the lost inheritors clasp. With the artefact secured, you are able immediately head to the safehouse to meet again with Inira.
That's a wrap! The playtest surveys are already closed at this time but hopefully this gives you an idea of how resonance works (at least from reading it at the very start, I don't think the scenario did justice to the test as we weren't force to really use it). If you wish to continue to gameplay for RP purposes, feel free and I'll respond accordingly! Thanks everyone for bearing with me on this.

Last I heard they were still taking PFS Playtest feedback for the PFS elements, not the Playtest itself. Resonance is gone, so that's one thing less to worry about.
Thanks for running this. I wonder how it would go with 1.6 rules.
Or even the first scenario of Doomsday Dawn. Hope someone runs some of it eventually.
