"I don't seem to remember any way up on the room following the ooze... Oh!... My bad, the trampling robots at the room with the terminal? M'shak, do you think we can move through that hall?"
GM Tyranius
|
M'Shak finds that hallway entirely collapsed and inaccessible. The roof has completely caved in and the structure far too heavy to move to clear the hallway.
T'kai

T'kai looks for a good spot to secure the cable.
GM Tyranius
|
T'Kai finds a good spot to secure the cable and sends it unfurling down below into the mist where the end disappears out of sight.
How long is your cable? The mist is 60 feet below where your standing. Also who is going to brave the cable first?
701

"I can volunteer to go first, if that's okay with all of you. If I shout Ooze, you'll know what I'm talking about!...
"Serums are on the left pocket of my backpack..."
Acrobatics or Athletics?: 1d20 ⇒ 5 Acrobatics = 17; or Athletics =11
GM Tyranius

Sounds good. Will get a post up this afternoon.
GM Tyranius

Using the cable-line the group of Starfinders is able to bypass the top conveyor belts and being dropped into the mists below. While passing one obstacle though they are led right into another as the cable dangles over the lower converer belt and floor some 20 feet more below the mist.
T'Kai's cable is plenty long as the Starfinders reach the level below as large pistons smash all about.
You did good. the conveyor belt above was a very deadly trap that could have easily been a TPK. Anything over 50 pounds would be tossed into a trash compactor and quickly crushed. Falling damage initially and third round damage if you couldn't get out was 32d6 damage.
Thick clouds of black smoke belch forth from oil-soaked machinery that sprawls throughout this factory. The machinery wheezes and clanks in a jarring cacophony.
A bright-yellow case is lodged between the conveyor belts at the east end of this room, past the hatches to the trash compactor.
This case contains a needler pistol with 6 darts. The case also contains three vials of MK 3 healing serum.

@Tyranius: I'll take 20 in Culture to decipher the Izalguun writing, forgoing my expertise die to do it quicker. The spoiler has the two abilities that let this happen, one to do it in a full round, one for taking 20. Decipher Writing: 20 + 16 = 36
The DCs for Culture checks to decipher writing are ... Intricate, exotic, or very old writing — 30

"Why didn't you say it earlier! I hope you can help us translate if we get to another room filled with uncultured, violent, caterpillar-tracked robots!
"Is anyone else feeling the effects of the radiation? Do we have someone with medical training among us? I think we may need some more caution with this vaccine than the usual dart to the buttocks!" 701 says while loading a dart to the needler.
T'kai
|
"I have some training in the medical field but it is mostly field medicine."
Medicine if needed: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
GM Tyranius

Loading a dart into the needler T'Kai grabs it and shoots it into M'Shak's android butt cheek. Over the course of the next few minutes the extra hair begins to fall away as M'Shak returns to a far more healthy state.

Ha! I'm better now. Lets take these if we encounter other creatures that have fallen to the radiations.
Looking around being herself again, she says.
One other door to open.
She looks at it, searching for traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
GM Tyranius
|
Finding no additional traps M'Shak opens the door. A drone of insects echoes around this technological swampland. Water floods most of this room, flowing in through a shattered door to the south. Stunted fungi protrude from the water’s surface atop twisted metal shelves and broken technology. Catwalks around the room skim the swamp’s surface, each coated with slime. At the north end of the room stands a glowing golden obelisk, resting atop a pile of fragmented golden items.
This must be the Tear you were sent to retrieve that could recover your lost friends from the Scoured Stars!

"I'll check to make sure there are no magical signatures or anything invisible. T'kai moves next to M'shak and casts see invisible and then detect magic a couple of times. He scans to his right then to his left. I'll use the cone on the left I put on the map. If I detect anything I'll try to continue to concentrate to get more info out. "If the nest above was for the swan-guun, be extra cautious, we may find frog-guun around here. It looks like an appropriate environment, and she looked extra angry on that video."
701 starts looking for movement near the catwalks.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
GM Tyranius
|
The group moves forward cautiously, detecting no magic near the entrance and seeing no ripples in the water other than their own. Shrec wades in finding it to be about 15 feet deep.
| Shrec the Powerful |
Shrec puts away his weapon, he will have to swim Everyone, ready some ranged attack I'm going to swim forward in case something is in the water. I'm moving all the way to the other end of the map, or rather to land, stop me and move me back if something grabs me.
GM Tyranius
|
Is anyone following Shrec? If so please place yourselves on the map.
M'shak
|
I will try to reach the catwalk with a long jump!
Says M'Shak, before she takes a running start and jumps to catch the catwalk.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 [ooc]to catch the catwalk
T'kai

T'kai covers Shrec, keeping watch over the water.
701

701 stands with T'kai, covering the length of the pool with his sniper rifle.
GM Tyranius

Swimming in the 15 feet of water is DC 12 Athletics check, though outside of combat you definitely have the opportunity to take 10.
@M'Shak- Jumping is also Athletics now.
M'Shak takes a running leap over the water, though he android completely misjudges the distance and barely manages to snag the railing to the catwalk as his legs and feet kick violently into the water sending ripples and small waves throughout the room.
Nothing seems to stir in the room for the paranoid Starfinders.
T'kai
|
T'kai attempts to swim to the stairs on the left.
Swim : 1d20 ⇒ 11 no movement
Swim: 1d20 ⇒ 15 15' movement
Swim: 1d20 ⇒ 5 sink but armor's self contain breathing kicks in
Swim: 1d20 ⇒ 12 Back to surface
Swim: 1d20 ⇒ 9 no movement
Swim: 1d20 ⇒ 14 15' to stairs
It takes three rounds for T'kai to get to the stairs.
M'shak
|
Again, with some running start, M'Shak tries to jump to catch the railing of the next catwalk.
Athletics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
But this time, she's unable to snag the railing and plunges into the water!
Swim: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
She finishes the rest by swimming

What do you guys wish to do?

Once his allies have gotten to their catwalks, 701 starts barging ahead.
Athletics (+4 Jump): 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 4 = 26 Jumped 25 feet north from the start of the pool.
Athletics (Swim): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 Athletics (Swim): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Going nowhere, but down.
First by jumping, although he splashes close to the stairs it was not enough to clear the distance. Before getting any closer to the stairs he begins sinking.
Athletics (Swim): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 Paddling to the stairs.
Once on the catwalk 701 makes a run for another dive, trying to jump over the railing, and as close as he can to the stairs on the left of the other catwalk.
Athletics (+4 Jump): 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 4 = 27 Athletics (Swim): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 Athletics (Swim): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 Finally jumped some 25 feet left from the right catwalk, and can swim for 40 feet. (Twice half speed)
T'kai
|
T'kai runs down the catwalk and jumps. Athletics: 1d20 ⇒ 17
The Shirren makes a big splash as he lands short.
Athletics to surface: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Athletics to swim: 1d20 ⇒ 15

The golden obelisk on the northern catwalk is the Tear that you were sent for. It almost looks to be erected as some sort of revered centerpiece. Taking a closer look at it the Tear seems congealed to other objects by a thick, coagulated spittle that would likely need removed first.
Looking out past the relic and into the water, it seems to ripple and shift slightly though the Starfinders are no longer in it. Two pairs of eyes peer out as two hulking aquatic devolved Izalguun's rise up. The grime-encrusted water falls from their bodies in small rivulets.
Shrec: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
T'Kai: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Seeing her comrades starting shooting at the creature, M'Shak says.
Stop! There is a slight chance, that I calculate to 9.7%, that by giving theses creatures the antidote we can help them rather than killing them.
She draws her pistol and turns it to non-lethal.
