Anybody remember how long the boat ride is supposed to take?

Also, GM YIM, I have added tokens for Garduk's most frequent summoned creatures to the map's sidebar.

What action to kick the boarding plank into the water? In case anyone wants to do that, good to know how much effort that’d take.

Just putting this in here, I'm having a whole lot of fun! :D Big thanks to the GM, and a smaller, separate thanks to each of my comrades! Y'all are a fun bunch c:

Marching order looks good to me! And I want to echo Lady V - I’m having a blast.

![]() |

Marching order works for me! Vulpina would only have one complaint: that they’re boarding a ship covered in spider webs at all.

Kyra, Level 4 Pregen! |

@GM: is Kyra's scimitar glowing? 30% chance I think...

![]() |

Sorry, Kyra. I don't understand.
If you think there is a d100 dice roll to make as a part of your explanation, I am happy for you to roll it.
From the rulebook:
"Light Generation: Fully 30% of magic weapons shed light equivalent to a light spell. These glowing weapons are quite obviously magical. They can't be concealed when drawn, nor can their light be shut off. Some of the specific weapons detailed below always or never glow, as defined in their descriptions."Also: regardless of shiny scimitars, is low-light vision sufficient to see?

Kyra, Level 4 Pregen! |

Kyra's magical glowing scimitar; 01-30: it glows!; 31-100: I am Stealth Kyra! (tm): 1d100 ⇒ 6
(map updated with Kyra's glowing sword)

Excellent-- two light sources means that Vulpina's low-light vision should fill in the gaps around the edges as well, so long as she's looking within 40 feet of the nearest bearer, if I've got my light rules correctly :P
EDIT: Looking at the light rules, low-light vision doubles that effective radius, so I can see just fine up to 40 feet away and 20% concealment from 41-80 feet. Nice!

Darkvision FTW.

GM, I assume Garduk is not getting to act this round, but if I'm wrong, please let me know.

Kyra, Level 4 Pregen! |

Sorry it's been a busy day. Do you mind if I cast bless topside before we came down? duration is 4 min...

Kyra, Level 4 Pregen! |

Ah, I see - nevermind then. I'll do it in combat if need be. Thanks.

I've been afflicted by the Pathfinder curse with Vulpina: I keep finding better ways to do what she needs to be able to do, but I don't want to keep spending money retraining feats and swapping equipment. D:
Specifically:
-I could use a cracked ioun stone to get wakizashi proficiency, freeing up a feat (maybe get Piranha Strike or Deadly Aim) and only costing me 1500gp.
-I don't really need the coat pistol and sword cane 99.9% of the time; I could simply buy them when necessary or accept the lack of a +2 to hide weapons on my person. Maybe get a Dragon Pistol instead.
Grumpgrumpgrump!

Yours is mined |

Yeah, no matter how carefully I research I always miss something. Or someone points out a new thing has come out that provides a more efficient way of doing something.
Honestly, I just roll with it now.
In most cases your PC doesn’t have to be hyper-optimized to succeed at PFS, and I try to forget the slight inefficiency ;)

Ahem, I believe that was Pig Thallosonian, Lady V.
Pushes glasses up on his nose.
Not that Pig Thassalonian is on Garduk’s language list, either.

![]() |

Hopefully the GM accepts that Bouncer was able to stop Vulpina from going into the pit :D given marching order, I can see it being justified.

Lady Vulpina wrote:Readied Action: Shoot if he moves to attack.Vulpina, you generally can’t ready an action until formal combat rounds have been initiated.
I’ve had GMs go both ways on that :P I’ll make sure to ask in advance for future GMs.

![]() |

The inconsistency in comes from the fact that most gms, me include until I learned, start initiative at the wrong time. It initiative starts when combatants are aware of each other. Exactly as Yours is mined has run it.
The second mistake gms make is just becuase you in initiative you dont have to fight. Enemies and PCs don't know what initiative is. So, you could spend the first ten rounds of comabt making a diplomacy check it woud seem odd to the player but to the characters it is just talking.

Part of it is just because there are certain things that make sense that don't necessarily work in tactical situations. For example, say we've got Baddie sitting in her room with a crossbow trained on the door because she's been informed the enemy is coming, and Goodie about to enter the open door with her tower shield up.
If Goodie rolls high Initiative, then Baddie apparently sits there with her finger on the trigger and waits for Goodie to cross the 20 feet into the room and whack her over the head with a club before getting a chance to shoot.
Likewise, if Baddie rolls high initiative, then she has a chance to take her shot. But wait, wasn't Goodie's shield raised? Shouldn't she have a bonus to AC? Well, it wasn't initiative time yet, so she technically isn't taking Total Defense yet...
But if I recall correctly, RAW doesn't say much to prevent Baddie from readying an action before initiative (provided she adds the necessary qualifier, ie "I ready an action to shoot if Goodie comes through that door"), nor does it prevent Goodie from saying she's taking Total Defense and keeping her shield in front of her as she's walking.
...I don't want to start an argument, but I kinda liked my scenario so I just kept typing. My next PFS character will be named Goodie. Though what she's doing with enough training to wield a Tower Shield and not enough to wield something better than a simple weapon is beyond me. Maybe she dropped her mace somewhere.

![]() |

You don't need a rule to say you can't rules in pathfinder are permissive they have to say you can. Readying requires changing initiate order. If it has not be rolled then you can wait for an action and change initiative order.
In you scenario thr gm made the mistake of not rolling imitative when the enemies were aware of one another, as per raw.

“Bouncer” :P

“Please leave me behind with my pants down in this area where we were just attacked by two swarms of spiders and there was a weird dying pirate” is a lil suspish, so Vulpina will see if he’s Up To Something.
She’s definitely not trying to see what he looks like pantsless.

![]() |

Feel free - he’s definitely keeping his pants up, and is more concerned about getting this unpleasant task over with than about hiding perfectly.

Yours is mined |

Sadly, we are approaching the end of Perils of the Pirate Pact.
If you could all take a moment to check over the Player Details sheet >>HERE<< I will start getting your Chronicles made up.
@Kyra, can you please provide the Name, PFS #, Faction and Advancement Track (Standard or Slow) of the < 4th level PC you would like your Chronicle to apply to?
Because Pre-gen Kyra doesn’t have a trained Craft, Perform or Profession skill, I don’t believe you can roll a day job.

![]() |

Looks good to me, thanks! And this is the fastest-moving PbP scenario I have ever played.

![]() |

Looks great, thanks!!

Kyra, Level 4 Pregen! |

Updated your table with my PC's info - let me know if you need anything else!
PS: I thought Kyra would have been a better fit for this group, hence the choice to play cleric - didn't know it would prevent a downtime roll for the actual PC I'm applying this to, however. D'Oh! :P I don't mind at all though, but it's good to know, seeing that I often GM f2f and PbP... :P

![]() |

At first I was worried that this wouldn't be done in time for the upcoming Game Day, but now I'm gonna have to figure out what to do for the next month :P I wish all PbP games ran this smoothly!
Love the group and if any of you want to play with Vulpina again, hit me up and I'll try to join any scenario you point me to! (Although she's currently slated for January's Retrocon-- heading to the Diamond City.)
