Now that we have found our first loot (a whole 5g worth of trinkets!!! woo-hoo!) how are we wanting to handle organizing it? It makes more sense to figure out loot tracking now before we actually start getting real stuffs.
I'm happy to host a loot tracker. I already have one set up HERE. If that is actually view-able and editable by everyone perhaps GM could link it at the top of the page?

As a side note I feel I am pretty good ad not using prior info, and The Glass Cannon just started this AP, I started to watch it and about the time they began to describe the "Doctor" I decided that with this AP the unexpected would be a large part of the enjoyment and stopped the video.
Thank you for the loot Sheet

Cellaich Seocan |

Loot sheet works perfectly well! I figure gold will be (relatively) evenly distributed, and I also suggest we each put maybe 1/5 of our gold each (once we start getting substantial amounts) towards a collective pool to be spent on utilities.
For non-sold loot, I expect we'll quickly have a sort of priority system in place- Scrolls go to Cellaich and Amestri first, Weapons go to Endol and Jagray first... Fairly self-explanatory, I think.

Amestri al-Naadhira Batgali |

The way I have it set up now is things can get designated as "sold" or they can be "claimed" by someone by them putting their name in the claim column. Then if there are more than one that want something we can discuss real fast and decide who it goes to.
The third column is where we would list who it actually went to, so we can try to make sure it's relatively evenly distributed.
For the gold itself, we might as well keep it listed on there as a pool until we hit a town, especially as a lot of it will probably be items that aren't even actual gold pieces til we sell them. then either divvy it up or decide on purchases together. I agree we should leave some of it as pooled money for stuff like room and board, travel, etc.
That's how the other APs I've been in ran it, and it worked pretty well. We can always modify it as we go if people don't like it.

Most items will fit one of us better than the others. There's lots of weapons that are for non-Endol and non-Jagray folks, and lots of scrolls I can't use. Makes more sense to go item by item vs a priority system.
And Springy ... you ARE a questionably useful object :)

Oh stop it. I meant that in a purely complementary way.

Cellaich Seocan |

@GM- if you have any questions regarding roll20's interface, I'm happy to help. I've used it as a GM and a player for about 5 years now.

Oniwaban |

Ah, super. I've only used it as a player, so I might well throw them your way. Biggest thing I'm trying to sort right now is copying the map from the PDF of the campaign maps into Roll20 in such a way that the size makes sense. I'm also at work, so I am giving it half attention, but yeah, I may well hit you up later.

The biggest thing I remember is when you drag the map in hold the alt key then you don't loose the aspect ratio.

Jagray Hamfur |

When you copy the image into Roll20 make sure you put it on Map & Background layer (Right click on the image and in the pop-up menu go to Layer > Map). Then change to that layer, right click on the image again and do Advanced > Align to grid. This will bring up a window with instructions on how to align it. 90% of the time that gets it right for me. Sometimes you have to resize it a bit to get it to line up 100% but that might help.

Oniwaban |

Okay, let's see how this goes.
Here's the invite link: https://app.roll20.net/join/3934415/n1XlVw

Oniwaban |

Right on, thanks! In addition to your tokens, I am creating journal entries for each character, and giving you rights to manage them, which in this case includes the built-in character sheet. Since we will be handling all gameplay here, and just using the map for visualization/combat, it's up to you whether or not you want to use it. I just wanted to present the option.

Amestri al-Naadhira Batgali |

Looks good. Don't forget to link it in the Campaign Info tab so we can easily get to it without having to find the link in Discussion

Jagray Hamfur |

While the link in Campaign info is definitely helpful, I've been having issues in some of my games that I am running editing the Campaign Info so if that is also the case here, if you just go to Roll20 and login it should open to show all the games you are playing in and can access it from there.

You, my friend, are filled with win.

Cellaich Seocan |

I joined, so whenever you get the chance I need control of my token and character.

As much as I like being careful, we might want to find a way to speed up our checks. Currently we've been opening a door for 4 real life days. If we approach every door with:
1) rogue listening perception check
2) GM response
3) rogue opens it stealthily
4) GM response
5) rogue scouts room
6) GM response
7) proceed as party
we end up taking way too much time since it's PbP and there's anywhere from hours to a day between posts. that's 2-3 days MINIMUM IRL to open each door with 80% of the party having nothing to do.
We need to figure out a way to condense or consolidate it, maybe one post with:
"listen (perception dice) ... if I hear nothing then open (stealth dice) ... if nothing jumps out then scout (stealth dice)"
Then the GM could post "Heard nothing, scouted room and saw..." or if one of the first checks find something then say "Heard something." and we hard stop at that point and assume the follow-up checks don't happen.
Then we can proceed as a group from either the scout results or the earlier check.
Thoughts?

Amestri al-Naadhira Batgali |

Actually you post more often than most of the GMs I've seen so that isn't the issue, it's more the mechanics of the process

Cellaich Seocan |

Yeah, I agree with your suggestions. Like I said, it's my first PbP- I've been playing like I would a more real-time campaign, which I've quickly realized isnt the best way of going about it. I'll make more of an effort to take into account the mechanics of PbP.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Cellaich Seocan |

Many apologies for not posting over the holiday weekend. Had to travel a lot more than I was initially expecting to and didn't have any service.

Amestri al-Naadhira Batgali |

It's OK, doesn't seem like anyone was posting over the weekend.

Amestri al-Naadhira Batgali |

Is everyone back? I'm starting to get antsy and want to face some eldritch horrors :P

Cellaich Seocan |

I am as well. I've been extra busy lately- finals are coming up, and tech week has started for the show I'm crewing, but I'll try and keep up my posting as much as possible. Apologies!

Amestri al-Naadhira Batgali |

Honestly I was more worried about Oniwaban. It's been 5 days since he said that he was about to start posting again. He's also in another game of mine and is MIA there too.

Oniwaban |

Hey folks. My sincerest apologies about the holdup. Don't give up! The campaign will continue. I got sick last week, and what started as a bad cold became pneumonia, for which I was hospitalized. I've spent most of the past four or five days laid up, weak as a baby, doing a lot of sleeping. I was released this morning, and will do my best to get caugh t up ASAP. :)

Amestri al-Naadhira Batgali |

Dear Lord! Take your time getting caught up. I have no issues continuing to wait while you recover. If I get too bored I'll just chat with Springy about colored fog. Health is more important than game.

Endol Onnend |

I am glad you are well. and take your time, but now I am worried that Amestri and Springy are going to make poor Endol curl into a little ball.

Jagray Hamfur |

Was throwing this out to the games I run, but thought I would drop it here too incase it ever was useful. I setup a Discord server to utilize for communication.
When you join just type in general which character you are and I will add you to a group just for this game. Then if things ever get crazy with the forums or you want to have another way that isn't as obnoxious to use on a mobile device as the forums to get a message out you can use this. I will at least check it and can report anything to the rest of the group if needed.

Amestri al-Naadhira Batgali |

Strangely I have access to the forums and roll20 and such from work and home, but Discord is blocked at work (not surprised it's blocked, surprised the other ones aren't as well)
I'll join up when I'm home, but I'll probably be checking here much more often than there.

GM Dak |

Yeah, I just know the forums blew up a few months back and it actually ruined one of the games I was running. I decided then to put that together as a backup for communications if it happened again. Plus you can get Discord as an app on your phone so it can make it easier if you need to get a message out to the group that you will be away if you can't access a computer.

Cellaich Seocan |

I apologize for not having posted the last few days, my internet has been down since last week and it's JUST coming back. I'll get right back into the swing of things- and I'm sorry again!
EDIT- also, Jagray, would you mind posting a non-expiring discord invite link? Thanks!

Amestri al-Naadhira Batgali |

It's OK Cellaich, GM is still recovering from pneumonia so we're still on break and you haven't missed anything.
