Heroes of Iblydos [AssortedGMs] (Inactive)

Game Master Swordwhale

High-Power game set in Pathfinder-Greek (Iblydos) presented by a round-robin group of GM-Players.

First things first:
- What is meant with Semi-Closed?
--> During this recruitment the idea was born to have a shared-GM game in case the recruitment would fail - Players would volunteer to take turns to GM the game in a 'Monster-of-the-Week' kind of short-adventures
--> This recruitment is intended for those Player-GMs interested in that kind of 'experiment'
--> For now, this is for Player-GMs only, to discuss the overall shape of things and how we want to organize, etc
--> Player-only Recruitment will happen later (if-at-all)

***

That being dealt with ... hello fellows from the recruitment (this is Quercus if you didn't guess).
After five days over the deadline without any word, I think it is about time to set things in motion.
Could anyone interested just pop in and say hello, so we can see how many of us there are and then proceed to discuss stuff, ideas, etc

Topics I think we should discuss before starting:
- Overall shape of the campaign
- Organisation (some kind of GM-schedule) and tools (where to put maps, shared notes, ...?)
- Base setting and key NPCs (regent(s), high-priest(s), important factions/organizations, ...)
- GM-Players only or including some Players-only?
- ...?

Good thinking. This Ellioti / Aramyros and I will gladly take up the one-shot GM job once this has been rolling well for a while. I 'm not experienced in GMing, yet.

Assuming we get more than six people here, we will need to find a way to split into smaller groups without leaving people out.

So I went ahead and created a shared one-note to store and share stuff.

‘Ello, all. I’ll be following along silently at the moment, as I’m a touch busy currently.

Howdy. I'm more interested in a dedicated-GM campaign at this point but if that falls through, I'm definitely interested in the round-robin GM experiment. I have a few ideas for how things might play out, and a handful of ideas for short adventures.

I was a bit troubled by the fact that the possible take-over-GM has several other recruitment threats running in parallel, plus the fact that there are a lot of people in the recruitment, so I figured I wanted to set this up regardless.

I've got a solid idea for a first adventure, maybe even with the possibility for further follow-ups within.
Curious of the actual power level of the party-to-come.
Gestalt is usually cl+3.
With the additional feats and high stat buy, I guess cl12+ is an initial estimate, to be corrected (likely upwards...)

Another thing to discuss: how do we intend to handle xp?
I am usually in the camp of GM-decides on lvl up without real tracking of course numbers.
Maybe we could derive a rule-of-thimb, like one level up after three adventures or something?
That's my penny at that topic but I could be convinced otherwise.

I can probably one-shot a CR 11-12 creature...

or we level up all at the same time after a few adventures

I think, for this particular setup, XP tracking might actually be a good idea. That allows for GMs to make shorter or longer adventures, and allows a good framework for expansion (I'm imagining a kind of hub, where GMs post quests that can be taken by whoever wants to try it with any allies, and using XP would allow for an easy way to figure out the relative award (high risk, high reward, but failure is always possible) for the number of people/relative level (should a disparity form).

Poking in here to say I'm interested in playing and turns at GMing, but have little time for details today and tomorrow as they're pretty busy IRL.

I'd also possibly be interested later on the down road at a small arc, or one shot.

Dotting... I am interested in playing, even if it's not a continuous story arc. I would also be willing to possibly GM a one-shot after some time... I've never GM'ed before, and I'd like some more experience.

I'm still around, though not in a mood to post a long post right now. XD

I could be down for this, for sure. I don't mind GMing as long as I get play time, and not only would this help prevent GM burnout, but should spur creativity when hitting a wall, writing wise, to pass the torch. Let me know if you need more!

`Hello again GM Panic here

Do we want to set a time line? How RP heavy do people want this to be?

I have my short adventure worked out beside of crunch and a bit more fluff towards the start of it, so I am positive that I could start things some time towards the mid/end of next week.

@RP-wise: As this is completely (GM-)player-driven, I think heavy RP would be cool, as the adventures themselves are likely to be rather crunchy, since the whole monster-of-the-week trope.
But, I am usually a fan of heavy-RP because PbP is just THE medium to do heavy RP in my mind and it will give everyone something to do in-between adventures.

@all: If you didn't noticed, I set up gameplay&discussion threads for you to dot in - IC if you like to.

I definitely want some heavy RPing. Ktinos is interesting mechanically, sure, but I really want to play out how he deals with sharing headspace with four bloodthirsty monsters.

Speaking of which, I'd kind of been thinking that they'd be at least partially played by the GM. In this setup, that might not be as viable... any thoughts?
