I choose Weapon. I think I would have had to do a roll to get that staff of focus, but being a weapon B I don't think I care even if I banish it.
We still get deck upgrades even if not playing for Tier?
Agree with Dark Archive.
Also, important: I acquired a Blessing 1 (Wadjet) by burying Sacred Candle to nab it from the blessings deck during my turn. This counts in our loot, right? It's my favorite trick.
Amaryllis - Void_Eagle |
I'm not particularly interested in either a weapon or an armor, so if anyone else has a preference, feel free to speak up.
I'd like either the Ally 2 or the Item 2, in that order, for my deck upgrade.
And third-ing the vote for Dark Archive.
Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 6 -> No boon for me. (I'm assuming... what results get a boon?)
Aric - Maelwys |
Convention Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 14 - Nope
(Amaryllis, 1 or 20 gives you the convention boon)
Dark Archive is definitely the better of the two, constant ranged combat damage is annoying.
Skill Feats: Charisma +2 / Dexterity +2
I would also like either an Ally 2 or an Item 2, in that order. ;-) I'll roll for them
Ally 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 935
Item 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 587
Amaryllis - Void_Eagle |
Ally 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 671
Item 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 753
EmpTyger |
Neither Maelwys nor Void_Eagle expressed a preference, so I gave you one of each. So including Mavaro’s blessing, that adds:
- Weapon 1
Weapon B
Armor 2
Armor B
Blessing 1
Remember, you each get 2 upgrades.
(I’m not sure whether Mavaro needs to attempt to acquire the weapon, or just acquires it? But yeah, probably won’t matter with a Weapon B. Especially as you’d have the displayed Reinforcements for a hypothetical check, since you lose it, used or unused, at the end of a scenario.)
Looks like there’s consensus on Dark Archive! I’ll get the new scenario set up this evening.
Varril-VampByDay |
I would like the Blessing 1 (using ultimate magic to trade in blessing of the gods for Blessing of Thoth). I suppose I could also use an Item 1 to turn in my Sage's Journal into a wand of detect magic.
Anyone have a problem with those choices?
Daddy needs a new pair of boons: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Note that there's a Paizo forum bug that's preventing thread headers from being edited. Until it gets resolved, please refer to the scenario update posts only.
Scenario intro is up, sorry for the delay. Choose your starting locations, and draw opening hands. Also let me know if you want to make any changes to the turn order; if not we'll continue with the same order, picking up with Varril.
And, finalize your upgrades. Currently it looks like:
Varril: Blessing 1, Item 1
Aric: Ally 2, ?
Amaryllis: Item 2, ?
Mavaro: Weapon 2, Ally B
If Aric or Amaryllis are interested in a second upgrade from what's left, their choices are:
Armor 2, Ally 1, Item 1, Weapon 1, any non-Spell B.
Amaryllis - Void_Eagle |
I"m good with just the one upgrade
Aric - Maelwys |
Sure, I'll take the extra Item 1.
Ally 2: Masque -> Slip
Item 1: Bestiary of Garund -> Cockroach Coat

Wile all faction objectives have been completed, this phase of the event will be continuing a few more days, in order to let parties try to finish up their current scenarios. (The current estimate is Monday or Tuesday.) If you do not finish by then, you will earn upgrades, but you will *not* earn the scenario rewards, or any tier rewards if applicable.
EmpTyger |
Just making sure it wasn't lost in the scenario set up: everyone should have received an extra random ally with their opening hand for this scenario, courtesy of the Liberty Edge faction. This was in addition to the normal opening draw, so everyone should have begun the scenario with 1 card more than their max hand size.
Calthaer |
Yeah, there's a lot of faction benefits that have come up, which can be hard to remember. I've compiled them in the update post, but still can't edit the header to put them there as well.
Either retcon your first turn, or add the ally to your hand as an extra card for your 2nd turn, your choice.
I hadn't quite gotten done my first turn when you posted, so I used it during that turn - it should all be good.
Amaryllis - Void_Eagle |
Thanks for the reminder about the ally. I saw you post about it, but missed the post with the allies in it. Then completely forgot about it when I took my turn. I've added it to my hand now.
Amaryllis - Void_Eagle |
I don't think so, but if I remember correctly there would've been 7 cards in the location, so the 1d6 roll would've been a moot point anyway.
EmpTyger |
Time is called, so Scenario B is over. The scenario counts as neither won nor lost; you don't get the reward nor feats/tier advancement. But you do earn an upgrade.
Decide on upgrade, choose your starting location for the next scenario. Let me know if any changes to the turn order; otherwise we'll continue with Aric starting.
This scenario uses some modified ship rules from S&S. Let me know if any questions.
A ship is neither a bane nor a boon.
If you succeed at all of the checks required to defeat a ship, stash a plunder card (see below). If you fail a check to defeat a ship, it deals an amount of Structural damage equal to the difference between the difficulty to defeat the ship and your check result.
Characters may play cards or use powers that reduce Structural damage, then characters must collectively discard from the tops of their decks a total number of cards equal to the remaining Structural damage.
Varril-VampByDay |
I'm not taking a deck upgrade, there is nothing for me.
Additionally, I say we all start at tempest Cay, as 'increase all structural damage by 1' seems like a good thing to get rid of. It'll make closing the location that deals our ship 4 structural damage easier.
Aric - Maelwys |
I'll pass on deck upgrades as well.
Note that the increase affect is only if there's somebody there. So if we don't all start there, then nobody should start there. But since I was planning to start there anyway (just based on the closing text and the allies), I'm perfectly fine to have everybody start there. ;-)
EmpTyger |
I've posted the scenario setup, pending Void_Eagle's selecting their upgrade and starting location. (Or confirming that Tempest Cay is okay with them also for Amaryllis?)
If you need to encounter a random ship, roll 1d10.
Also, remember that the party does begin with a Reinforcements available! As well as the faction benefits.
All this is listed in the scenario update posts. (Sorry again for still not being able to update the header.)
Start whenever you're ready. Good luck!
Amaryllis - Void_Eagle |
No upgrade, and Tempest Cay works.
Amaryllis - Void_Eagle |
Yeah, I was trying not to use that, since it can also be used for healing. But if I'd failed the close check on the reroll, I would've been seriously tempted....
Calthaer |
A moment of planning: I could take down Shipwreck Graveyard (saving at least Aric a start-of-turn Wis/Surv check)...and this seems like the best move...but I am not sure that - given I ate a bunch of structural damage upon closing the last one - that I can take it all on the chin myself this time with the 1d4 structural damage that comes with the Graveyard upon closing.
Can we determine to share the damage if / when I close it? Given Mavaro's ability to do just about any check, I should be able to both take on the barrier and acquire whatever card might happen to come up.
Aric - Maelwys |
Yes, if you could close the graveyard that would be awesome, to avoid the extra damage at the start of my turn.
And I'll definitely be happy to take some of the structural damage, nobody should need to take that alone.
Amaryllis - Void_Eagle |
I'm going to "randomly" choose my one buried card to recharge.
Varril-VampByDay |
Also, VampByDay, feel free to take your turn in the meantime.
Sorry, weekend completly got away from me. Ran 1/2 a module, had lunch with my dad, submitted an article to wayfinder#19, and played in the final session of the first Starfinder AP.
Varril-VampByDay |
Daddy needs a new pair of boons!: 1d20 ⇒ 17
I would really like one of the spell 2s, as that would net me Marionette, a spell that removes a creature’s immunity to mental (letting me use binder’s time on them)
1d1000 ⇒ 902
Other than that. . . Not sure.
Amaryllis - Void_Eagle |
I'd like one of the Spell 2s.
Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 14 -> Negative
I'll also start at the Fog Bank, although I can move at the start of my turn if we decide to zerg down a location.
Mavario |
I am primarily interested in the Item 2 and secondarily interested in the Blessing 2.
Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 1
This means I get one, right? Did we list what's available?
I missed that topdeck structural...went back and checked and don't believe it would have changed anything...in fact...with the cards I discarded, I think it was preferable.
EmpTyger |
Congratulations! Here are your choices. (And you do not need to apply your selection to Mavaro; you can use it with another character, or hold on to it for later.)
Season of Tapestry’s Tides Reward #1
Unconventional Firepower: You may add one weapon that has the Firearm trait and one item that has the Ammunition trait from the Gunslinger Class Deck to your box. These cards must have an adventure deck number equal to or lower than your current tier. Burgeoning Captain: At the beginning of a scenario that uses the Skull & Shackles Base Set, you may cross out this reward to gain the skill Survival: Wisdom +2 on your checks attempted while you are on a ship and on your checks attempted against a ship until the end of the scenario.Season of Tapestry’s Tides Reward #3
Sea Legs: When you would fail a combat check against a bane that has the Aquatic trait, you may cross out this reward to reroll the dice and add 1d6; take the new result.
