Hi, there! Meloriel here.

I ended up making Reva. Reva's a tiefling unchained summoner with the storm caller archetype. She doesn't remember her past and what she does remember involves her and her vicious shark demon eidolon Kildrax alone on an island. She's obviously unnatural -- with a lashing demon's tail, teeth like a shark, and sharp black horns sticking right up out of the top of her head. On her forehead is a glowing yellow rune of a skull pierced by lightning.

Aside from some distant past, Reva remembers life as a pirate. She's sailed them for decades, and has earned herself a reputation as a fearsome, bloodthirsty pirate. Although she loves treasure, and adventure, sailing and travel, there's nothing she and Kildrax love more than a bloody battle! She loves boarding other ships, terrorizing the coasts, duels and other violent competitions.

She's a typical pirate in a lot of ways. Greedy, selfish, and bold. Yes, she will make heavy use of cheesy pirate slang! Haha.

Reva (and most people who have sailed with her) believe she's been blessed by Besmara. She can command a sea monster (Kildrax), summon others to do her bidding, and even call lightning to blast her enemies. Her faith has made her more than a little reckless. She dreams of being a Pirate Queen and ruling swaths of the seas from the head of her own armada. Of course, planning's not her strong suit, so the odds of her dreams coming to fruition through anything other than divine intervention and dumb luck are quite slim. Still, she's a decent pirate, good in a dust up, with a presence sure to give her enemies pause -- and perhaps make them reach for a new pair of shorts.

Reva's greedy and selfish, always willing to fight and steal her way higher in the world. She'll be in port looking for bigger and better things. She doesn't really have any complex motivations. I wanted to just make a fun pirate. Didn't expect her to turn out so mean, though! Haha.

What makes her different than other characters I've made... Well, not only have I never made a summoner before, or an unchained summoner, I've never even played a tiefling (seriously). I rolled one up once but she never got used. Reva's shamelessly greedy, selfish, and violent. I've never really indulged that kind of character mentality before. I've made some with one or two aspects, but no one's whose just embraced all the bad sides of being a pirate an ran with it.

As for what you'll need to know...
- Reva can call her eidolon to fight with her. It takes a full minute. She'll typically have him out.
- When Reva doesn't have her eidolon out she can use her summon monster ability which is a standard action and lets the creatures she summons last a minute per level. She has a small list of creature she can summon with this ability due to her archetype.
- Instead of summoning creatures with her spell-like ability she can call lightning. It's got some slightly different rules than the spell, but nothing crazy.
- She and her eidolon can shoot lightning between the two of them. This also take a use of her spell-like ability and harms everyone in a line between her and Kildrax. They're immune to the lightning. Right now it would deal 2d6 electricity damage so it's not crazy or anything.
- She's a spontaneous caster. For spells she's got summon monster (which follows normal rules when used as a spell and she can use while her eidolon is out). She also has some AC buffs (barkskin and shield), and some healing (sort of). She know lesser rejuvenate eidolon so she can heal Kildrax, and infernal healing, which gives fast healing 1 for 1 minute. She has a wand of both of those 'healing' spells as well. She typically fights in melee with her morningstar.
- she's a pit born tiefling, which changes up her ability modifiers a bit, gives her some different class skills, and gives her shatter as a spell like ability one per day.
- she's fond of intimidate and intends to use use magic device (but she's not amazing at it, so likely out of combat) Once a day she can use her omen trait to demoralize an opponent as a swift action.

....Hmmm... I think that's all you need to know about her mechanically.

Sounds Great!

I am always curious about what is different in characters because it helps me envision how they fit into the world. I also really like to see players challenge themselves to play something that is at least a little different than what they have in the past. Sounds like you fully embraced that one!

Smacky is here!

Smacky is a fun-loving (definitely not evil like my Mom's or brother's) pirate! Her backstory is fun! You should read it. It is on my profile.

Smacky is a vanara brawler. I have never made a brawler before, so I am excited to try it. My Mom helped me make a list of feats I would like to take with my martial flexibility move, so it will be neat! I would like to make her unarmed strikes with my tail instead of my fists! I think that would be fun.

Smacky's ship-home has a new Captain now and she doesn't like him. He's BORING. So Smacky is looking for a new ship to join.

She is different from other vanara because she is a pirate! She is playful and fun. Other vanara are not as playful as her. She is different from other pirates because she is nice! She doesn't really care about money or treasure or even the ocean. She's a pirate because it's what she was raised to do. She doesn't know any other way to live. She's also kind of... I don't know the word. My Mom says 'flighty' is a good way to say what I mean. She is flighty. She doesn't focus very well. She's different from other characters I've made before because... she's a vanara? I've never made a brawler before. Or a pirate! It will be fun.

Stuff you need to know about her for fighting and stuff...
- she has deflect arrows and snatch arrows! She she can grab stuff shot at her right out of the air! If she is against ranged weapons she will use martial flexibility to learn the feat 'throw-back arrows' so she can throw the things they shoot at her right back! It will be so funny!
- she is hard to steal from
- she fights unarmed
- she can learn new feats for a minute at a time with martial flexibility. Feats I will probably use it with are weapon specialization or shark style, or... combat reflexes, dazing fist or scorpion style.
- she can move things with her tail! She can climb stuff, she's good at sailing....

I can't think of anything else.

And Smacky can absolutely use her tail as an unarmed attack! I am not very familiar with martial flexibility, so you might have to teach me about it some time. It sounds really cool though and I can't wait to see it in action!

I have never used it before but I think it sounds cool. It's a move action and it lasts a minute. She can do it five time right now and more at higher levels. When she uses it she can pick any feat that she meets all the prerequisites for. Then she has that feat for a minute. I know that some people use it with power attack and combat whats-it-called so they can take CMB stuff like tripping and bull rush and things, but I didn't do that. I will take other stuff. Doing what other people do is boring!

I think at higher levels I can also us it for two feats at a time.

Also, I love my mouse picture. I think it looks like Smacky ready to fight someone! She's so CUTE!

Hi! I am meloriel's son. I am playing Riy-Zi! He is a strix alchemist! I have never played a strix before and I think throwing bombs down on enemy ships from the sky will be amazing! I really like pirates so this is going to be a lot of fun.

Riy-Zi is a very angry guy. He used to have a nice home when he was a kid but people came and took it away and built a stinky city instead. His family tried to fight them and they died. In the end it was just him and he had to slink around and stuff. He learned how to make stuff from their garbage and chemicals. He hated the town and the humans who lived there. One day he saw pirates raid the town and set it on fire. He thought that was a pretty awesome thing! (He's not very nice! Haha.) So he flew off to join the pirate crew and has been a pirate ever since.

Riy-Zi still hates humans. But he loves being a pirate, so he gets along with the ones he has to. He loves raiding other towns and breaking other ships. He carries a handy haversack and fills it with his alchemical lab and stuff.

I don't know if he's different from other Strix cause I've never seen anyone play one. From the book they don't usually become alchemists so that's different. He's different from other pirates because he doesn't care about money or treasure. He cares about breaking things and getting revenge. I've only ever made one evil guy before and Professor McMaan is way different than Riy-Zi so it will be super new for me.

Other rules...
I can fly! Thats special. I can make bombs and mutagens and extracts. I have precise bombs so I don't blow up my shipmates. I also have infusions so I can feed my extracts to my shipmates too. He has a lot of bombs and things.
I do not have any of the poison benefits that alchemists gets. Instead I have trap finding and later I can blow up traps with my bombs.

OH! And I was supposed to ask something! I have crafting and brew potion so I paid half price for alchemical stuff and potions that my character would have made himself. Is that okay? If not I will change my gear around. Thanks.

It sounds like you guys are going to have a very interesting party! Hopefully it will encourage some of your characters to change and grow as we move through the story!

In regards to your equipment, half price for those things at the start seems perfectly reasonable to me. However, once the game starts you will have to pay full price for things unless you have enough time to create them yourself (and the ingredients are available). Do you have access to the alchemy manual? I like to use that as the list of ingredients needed to make various things. It also makes alchemy a little bit faster- so you will have more opportunities to use it.

I have never played with a Strix either, so we will both have to learn as we go! I think flying is going to be a big advantage, especially early on- but I think everything will end up being just fine. There are a couple of times throughout the story where I might say that flying isn't an option, just to keep things fair with everyone else. It wont happen very often, but I wanted you to know from the beginning. Hopefully that is OK!

Hey there, I'll be playing Craigie Woodman. His profile is created but his stats aren't quite done yet. He's going to be a lunar oracle. He has a pet crocodile named Lady Jade which is his animal companion (which he gets through one of his oracle revelations). I'll post more details when my character is finished.

In his youth Craigie plied the water as a river pirate. Craigie has always enjoyed being around, in and on water. Around his sixteenth birthday he began having dreams of the ocean depths. Shortly after the dreams began he became restless and needed to see the ocean for himself. To this day he still only dreams of the ocean depths. He left the rivers he called home and set out for the ocean. While on his journey he came across a peculiar crocodile. At first he thought the croc meant to eat him, however that was not the case. Instead the crocodile followed him. Over time Craigie developed a connection with the beast, whom he now calls Lady Jade.

Craigie is compelled to sail the oceans and pirating is one thing he knows. He's currently in the Shackles looking for a ship to join.

Craigie is particularly good with a dagger. He's good at fighting underwater and is an efficient swimmer. He even has a swim speed.

Craigie has animalistic instincts, almost prophetic, that let him react to danger before his body even knows whats going on. He uses his charisma modifier instead of his dexterity modifier on AC and Reflex saves.

His mystery is Lunar, and his curse is deep one.

I made a cute and awesome creature for the next Wayfinder and it got in! It will get put in the next issue! That is so exciting! It's for Starfinder this time. I made a space rabbit that has laser beam eyes and shoots fire out of its nose! And can survive in space and fly!

I am so excited!

And my brother and Mom got something into it too. But there's are not cutie space rabbits.

We went out west (Southern Utah) to hike for a couple of days. We are expecting our first in April, so this is our "last" trip with just the two of us. It's simply breathtaking out here!

Hi! Not sure if you're interested in Kickstarters, but my brother's gaming company just launched a Kickstarter today for a fun new gaming book that's Pathfinder 1st edition compatible! He's been published in some Pathfinder books before and written some PFS modules, so you might already be familiar with some of his work. I had the chance to do a lot of freelance work for the new book, which is really exciting. And my daughter (looks at Smacky) created a rabbitfolk race that's going to see publication in it, as well.
