Thorongil, the Sheriff merely wants to touch base with the three of you properly in the morning before your party leaves again to continue exploring the areas outside town - searching for lizardfolk, song’o and troll. She isn’t going to give you more work - you’ve completed her personal mission and she’s paid you. Just to clarify. I remember you in particular left buying of gear until your return from the Praet plantation.


Alright, I'll be making a new post tonight in game.

A courtesy heads-up: On the 14th August (your 13th), I will be flying out for an overseas family vacation. There will be much travel and little time for posting in games. I will be gone almost a month, so during that time, this game will be on a short hiatus until my return. I will start it back up around the 12th September. If it's going to be later than that, I'll certainly let you know. In regard to this matter, I don't want to get too far into the next lot of explorations as I won't be able to move them forward being I won't be on the boards for a month. We have a week before I leave (very busy week for me leading up to my trip) and I will make some posts then, too.

To my players, I've decided to close down this game indefinitely. With my travel plans and other personal issues, I find I cannot continue it at this time.

Just curious to know what the status is with the game :)


As I mentioned a couple of days ago I have been very sick and haven’t been on the boards to play.

I will post something over the weekend if I’m feeling well enough. Thanks for your understanding.


I will be formally returning to the game on Tuesday, 1st October. This will give me a little more time to get over the super bug I contracted and be up to regular posting again.

Before then, I would like to know what your plans are for the next stage of exploration. This part of the adventure you decide where you'd like to explore next - the only request made by the Sheriff was to see if her cousin was alright and you have done that to her satisfaction. She does not have any directives on where next you will go and will be satisfied with your plans and the information you provide once you return to Pridon's Hearth.

The following three plans have been suggested via rp:

1. Look for the Lizardfolk tribe
2. Locate and take care of the troll which attacked town
3. Visit the Cahsil Song'o Halfling tribe

There is a link provided to the Korir River Delta Map in the Campaign tab. This will help with the Halfling village location. Please let me know what you plan on doing next.

Do you also wish to purchase more gear or equipment at this stage? If so, what (other than some weapon choices already rp'd) do you mean to buy? Does your party plan to travel on foot with the pack mule or do you wish to hire horses? Remember you still have some good coin provided by the town council for exploration purposes.

Letswalo is keen to see that troll dead, which should be swifter to resolve than the other two. We have the acid and fire, let's bring it down!

After that, we can enjoin the halflings for aid against the lizardmen, or just to get information.

Letswalo definitely has a bone to pick with the lizards too.

I feel like we should make a cursory examination of what the troll might be interested in. Likely it will attack people for food and supplies; if it's scared of attacking this settlement, it may go after one or the other. in which case, we may be able to get two birds with one stone.

Unfortunately I have to leave for work now, but I'll have more on this up later today when I get a chance to really think about stuff.

So to clarify - the plan is to take a bit to figure out if anyone in the town knows where the Trolls "Stomping Ground" might be (and we're it would likely go next if the town has scared it away), coupled with encouraging the citizens to make sure that the town is upping their defenses against another attack from the troll, and then, when traveling, keeping an eye out of Troll Tracks?

To be clear, Thorongil would likely want to go make sure the Halfling village is safe, but he's also going to be practical and purchase some new gear before leaving either way (though that will depend on the location of where the troll may be and how long/far that distance will be). Further, he will forgo the Halfling village in lieu of the Lizardfolk Tribe, but only if it means dealing with the Troll first.

Otherwise he'll go for the Halfling village.

However, this all will be in response for a Diplomacy/Gather Information Check on the troll; I mean, if we're going to visit suspicious Halflings who may become allies, he'll try to bring stuff to make them more comfortable, and if they're going to seek out a hostile Lizardfolk tribe he'll likely buy more combat-oriented items (naturally he's going to improve his regular gear/equipment either way, but more on that later).


Only notes available on troll:

Count Narsus, Sheriff Adaela and the town guards know of only one exceptionally large troll in the area - named Graular. The female troll has been sighted in the thick jungle abutting the town - in Narsus Forest. Four members of the Count's staff have disappeared over the past month and this has led the young count to be increasingly wary of leaving his estate, especially after dark, and has declared the woods surrounding his estate off limits. Graular carries an improvised club as a weapon - made from a metal bar ripped off the town's dock storage yard. The Count and his guards consider the troll, Graular, a dangerous predator. She is only sighted at night when she wants to be, as a general rule, and only when she leaves Narsus Forest to forage for food or to loot.

Any previous/earlier tracks would have been washed away by the last fierce storm and the current, daily rainfall. Yet, an exploration of Narsus Forest might reveal something.

On the map below, the Narsus Estate is at '5' and Narsus Forest is at '6'.

Pridon's Hearth Map

- So, I believe you will be dealing with the troll issue first. How do you mean to travel back to the estate/Narsus Forest? On foot again or by horse? To reach the forest from the town proper will not take you long for there is an established, muddy road to the Narsus Estate (about 15 mins walk) which you can travel to reach the forest/woodland which starts just outside the stone walls of the estate. Narsus Forest is approximately 11 miles long and 6 miles deep.

If you then wish to visit Cahsil Village, where the Song'O Halflings live - the village is situated northeast of Pridon's Hearth - almost 2 hexes away - 24 miles - and the village is not near Narsus Forest but well beyond it. Using horses for this exploration?

Sorry, I've pulled a rib from all my coughing. It's hard to sit still for too long.

Just trying to gauge the plan of the night of the Sheriff's dinner. The three of you finish eating, leave the Sheriff's home and then around 9.30pm the same night, you wish to visit Banker Baldra to ask after Kanjo Arram's current whereabouts? This is all done before you leave the next morning to explore Narsus Forest (to look for the troll)? Just trying to get an idea of what you're doing, so I can play it out accordingly. Thanks. :)
